I had a game yesterday and I really didnt have time to play it. I decided to go ahead and do it though because the guy had wanted to play the night before.. the guy kept blitzing me so I did a quick dump off pass w/o using the cone. So, he paused the game for 3-4 minutes to send me a message to use the passcone.

Later in the game he paused it for even longer to tell me to punt the ball instead of going for it so he could run clock. The game would have been over if he hadnt spent the time typing a message telling me to run clock.

With the Texans atleast I can catch some passes. I cant believe how shitty they made Vincent Marshall in NCAA....I loved that wide open no one around PA drop he had,would have been 7...I almost tossed my controller.

Listening to you go off about how amazing you are on every single page of this thread is far from fun man. Regardless if you feel that trash talk has a place in sports, it doesn't have a place in GAF leagues. There is no need for it at all.

Most of us play games because we enjoy them. Not because we are all incredible athletes in the real life and after we get home from stomping on some real life competition down at the local gym we can't wait to get online to continue our bravado. That's not GAF.

People don't need to hear about how you dominated them and then "let off the gas" in the latter parts of the game.

I don't really know why you feel that this is how it should be done. But you are the first that I know of in our leagues that is downright rude after a win. FMT, Wellie,DM, MrBob, Coldblooded, you name em, I've never seen them post anything in our league threads that would belittle an opponent. Heck most of them will spends hours trying to teach someone how to be play the game better.
Imagine that, FMT plays someone. Destroys them and then offers to play them again so that he can offer some pointers and give some tips on what his opponent should have done in certain situations.

If you are not interested in changing your attitude and tone then maybe you shouldn't be playing in these leagues.

No I don't run things, it's just been tough to see all your posts. They've been wearing on me.

First off, I appreciate the candor...

While I do not completely agree with your philosophy about how a league should be run, I respect the ideals you touch on. It never occurred to me that I should be helping people become better as we go along. I looked at the league as a something that is strictly competiive not necessarily cooperative during and afterward. As far as the trash talking goes, I guess I will never be able to convince anyone that it is not malicious. I have been using it to increase my mental edge and pump myself more to get amped for the games knowing I better not lose with all the smack I was talkin. And as evidenced by your post, one person's definition of motivational smack can easily be considered rude by others. I'll consider just dropping it all together as I imagine others feel the same way you do. CB and FMT tried to school me about that etiquette, but with you being the third person to touch on the same theme I will finally respect it.

To everyone I have outstanding drama with, I am extending the olive branch to squash all that shit. Don't write me off yet guys, I am just not familiar with how you guys run here at GAF.

The Fighting Irish are tumbling. Do I get a bowl game if I win my conference??? I still have a chance to do that.

The lag is so tough to play with sometimes. There were times where it would take 3, maybe 4 button presses to get the cone up and and get a pass off. And then on a possible game saving drive the controller didn't even recognize that I was holding the left trigger down and instead of popping the cone up it just threw a duck that wound up incomplete.

Well it does seem kinda odd. Because at the beginning I thought it was understood that division winners plus the top 2 ranked teams outside of that.

I didn't choose my schedule to be like this. If a schedule strength arguement is going to be there then there really isn't any reason to keep playing this game.

It's just a rental and the lag is so bad at times that if there is no chance for me to get into the playoffs than why bother finishing up? I'm not a deadbeat player so I'm not worried about ruining my rep regarding our leagues. Just curious on the playoff seedings.

i have decided to start the playoffs/bowl games on wednesday. therefore you have until tuesday night to finish your games. at that point i will request everyones top 32 teams list. i will only ask that you rate on the games PLAYED. this could hurt people who are 3-2 (for instance) if they were to win their final 5 games, putting them at 8-2! however, since they haven't played those games they can't be credited for the wins.

for those who have games left, there are plenty of people willing to fill in so there is no excuse to not get the games done. tuesday night fellas!

While the division winners and stats should play a big role in determining votes, several other factors can weigh in and influence the way the top 8 will be determined. For sure. I'm just curious if I go 7-3 in the league and lead all passing and TD categories and win a division if I even have a chance to get in. I just assumed that winning a division meant I was in the playoffs that's all.

And to get the votes it helps to be known. And yourself, FMT, Vump, Cold, Lone and some others have definetly dominated this thread and are more well known.

Well, if that's the case, how does Auburn get in? Their "rankings" is #1, even at 5-5. ****ing Kenny Irons. Why did you go and give up 12 TD's to him, Matrix? WHYZ?

And True, if you can get in the rest of your games, or close enough to compete with anyone else of enough wins, but not enough games played, so that your stats might help you get into the playoffs, then so be it. But if you stop at 3-2 (or whatever you're at now), then someone else will get your place.

PS: I'm about to head home, wanna get our game in sometime this afternoon before MNPF?

Ok, I see that Cold, FMT, Daddy, Shawn, Vump are all 8-2, games finished. I've got one left and can either finish 9-1 or 8-2. That's 6 teams. NOW, Az is 5-2 and Ninja Vs. Pirates is 6-1. They have games to play, and Az could finished tied at 8-2, and NvP could be 9-1. That's 8 teams. THEN you throw in True who is 3-2, and has ALOT of games to play, but could theoretically ALSO be 8-2. Throw in the Infamous Conex at 7-3 with a popular Michigan team, and the Popular CZAF who could finish at 7-3. Who is to say that a good 7-3 team doesn't get in ahead of a "CREAM PUFF SCHEDULE SUPREME" 8-2 team (like Muah ). But games need to be played and fast.
