Official Neogaf 3DMark Timespy league table - the ULTIMATE epeen showdown

Was that at stock? I've managed to get into the 34,000's GPU score with overclocking but without upping the power limit. I haven't tested with higher power limits yet.
Yeah pure stock with a Best Buy prebuilt

I am still within my return window so haven't messed with anything as I was hoping a 5090 system would pop back in stock and return this machine

You know.....I look at these scores and think perhaps I should upgrade my CPU, but then I go and check out game benchmarks and CPU doesn't have nearly as much impact as these Timespy scores suggest. Anyone else noticed this?

Yeh the CPU has an impact in timespy because the last section of the test is running only on the CPU I believe. It's also because it's a 1080p test, so CPU bottlenecks can have a huge impact.

With that said though, a GPU overclock/undervolt can often brute force a result towards the top of the charts. So the first port of call should always be looking at ways to optimise your current hardware before starting to throw money at the problem.

Although having said that, I'm sure OverHeat OverHeat will prove me wrong by throwing an additional $1000 at his machine and end up topping the charts 😅

Especially at higher resolutions its all about the GPU

Your CPU is kick ass and would only benefit you if you wanted to game at 1080 and ultra high frame rates

Nice temps as well. Probably lots of headroom in that setup.

analog_future analog_future what's your case and cooling setup like?

O11 Air Mini case, 2 140mm Arctic P14 Max fans intaking on the bottom below the GPU, 2 140mm Arctic P14 Max fans intaking on the front, 1 120mm Arctic P12 Max fan exhausting from the rear, and then a top mounted Arctic Liquid Freezer III 280 cooling the CPU and doubling as exhaust on the top.

Goal is to keep a slightly positive pressure in the case to help keep dust out over time. Have the fan curves set up to be silent during normal Windows use and ramp up during gaming; still very quiet though. Pretty basic stuff but my rig has always stayed nice and cool.

My 9950X3D arrive today it’s out for delivery not that it’s gonna change my score 🥳🥳

I'll leave the score here from my second machine (oldest), later I'll put the scores with the 4090 system.

This is not a gaming optimized machine, 128Gb of RAM, so looser timings on the sticks, and also using Nvidia Studio Drivers, Windows 11 with no tweaks.

You can find the results online HERE.

I'm not paying £7 to get my epeen ridiculed, nice try :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Nah, I'm good.

Use the free version, the benchmark being used here is available there ( HRK69 HRK69 this also applies to you):

I'll update the OP with the direct link to this so it's more clear.

Steel Nomad should be our bench.

No it shouldn't. This is a test for the total system, not just the GPU. There's a reason why timespy is still the benchmark of choice across the industry.

13th gen Intel issue?
I ran a bunch of tests on 3dmark last night and at one point I got a popup message saying my GPU does not support MMX SSE3 or something like that.
Isn't that one of the first signs that the Intel 13th and 14th gen CPU's are about to fail?
It only came up on one of the tests and went away after a reboot.

edit-I'm no longer in last place. Thanks reinking reinking :)

Yeah....if I was going for top end frames and lower rez then I'd definitely upgrade. Thing I find interesting here though is that 3dmark is putting a heavy emphasis on CPU cores. In Time Spy Extreme, which benchmarks in 4k, winjer winjer 's 5800x3d and 9070 had a better overall score than my 7600x3d and 9080 XT. Those two additional CPU scores are having a pretty large impact.

Yeah his temps are great.

Our CPU temps are almost identical but my GPU temp is slightly higher

Makes sense since I've got the hot air from my case being pushed through my radiator.

With water cooling at least, it's just a balance of what you want to keep cooler. You're either intaking cold air into the CPU radiator and pushing the hot air into the case, or pulling the hot air produced by the GPU and other components out through the radiator. You'll end up with either a warmer CPU or a warmer GPU.

That is a decent jump and for this test at least a large difference between our CPUs but obviously wouldn't see that in real world gaming as looking at places like Gamers Nexus testing your CPU vs my 9800X3D frames are much closer.

Yeah my case has 3 fans at the bottom feeding directly into the GPU with fresh air and a 360 MM rad exhausting out the top and 2 fans exhausting out the rear

The PSU is in a weird position in this case closed off in its own chamber on the backside of the motherboard
