GHG GHG , one last update for my 4090 config. Beasted out another 600 points. :messenger_sunglasses:

Chiggs - Time Spy - 33, 797

T Three , what's going on with your rig? You've got a 5090 and I'm 231 points away from you. I could probably surpass you with a light CPU/RAM overclock.
I have "silent mode" activated (a physical switch on the card) so it lowers the fans and power usage but gets lower scores. I didn't do any tweaking to try and max out the score I just pressed run early in the morning. No overclocks or anything on memory, CPU or GPU, I need stability. The GPU score is likely not the problem though, my GPU score is 10k above yours, it's the CPU score where you've scored 10K above mine.

what could be wrong? i ran again at stock settings. BIOS was just wiped clean because of new CPU. might do clean GPU drivers
Just do a roll back, Thats what I did,
I had enabled global Vsync so that I could get a smooth frame gen on some games.
The current Nvidia drivers did not let me disable it, so I rolled back to the previous drivers and disabled vsync and my score went up.

Silicone lottery
it shouldn't be 14K lower tho?

Dumb I know, but I had a global limit of 120 fps set up in the Nvidia client and it messed it all up.

i don't have a limit set

Did you turn XMP on?
yea

just done clean install and will test again

Do you have vsync on in the Nvidia app. Your score is unbelievably bad.
no but gsync is on

nothing i'm doing is fixing this. i don't know what's wrong

What are CPU-Z and GPU-Z reporting?

Also what memory speed are you running? Is your RAM set up properly in the bios?

Post a link to your timespy result, the memory speed, CPU/GPU clockspeeds etc should be there.

He did earlier:

Something is definitely not right.

Something is definitely not right.

Hmm... Nothing looks massively out of place in terms of the frequencies etc but the GPU only reaching 53 degrees is remarkably low.

But yeh, overall somethings not right.

If OverHeat OverHeat gets similar results after installing his 9950x3d then that would point towards a software/bios issue.

If the right CCX is chosen should not be any issue Makoto-Yuki Makoto-Yuki do you have ryzen master installed to check?

Makoto-Yuki Makoto-Yuki That's definitely not right, that GPU score is close to my 5080. There was a bug in Afterburner with the 50 series which locked voltages, the fix was to disable voltage control and re-enable it (then download the latest version). Maybe it's something like that?

Bios update, clean install etc etc
clean install is next but such a hassle. maybe because i went from 4080 to 5090 on the same windows install?

memory is 6000 32CL.

CPU-Z and GPU-Z that shit!!! Did you enable rebar? Makoto-Yuki Makoto-Yuki
rebar is on

i don't use ryzen master

i did clean bios when installing my 9950X3D

CCX is at auto and same for PCIE gen speed

yeah i did a clean install of Afterburner and have never enabled voltage again on it.

when i first got my 5090 time spy was buggy and wouldn't run at all. so hopefully it's just software.

for whatever it's worth i ran other benchmarks and compared to my 7950X3D i'm seeing +269 score on Cinebench 24, superposition at 1080p extreme is 5fps faster (195fps vs 199fps) and at 8k extreme it is 5.2fps faster (130.6 - 135.8fps). cyberpunk (maxed out no DLSS) benchmark is ~1fps higher. forza motorsport benchmark is ~10fps higher (132-142fps). steel nomad is ~1-2fps higher (139.5fps - 141fps).

i'm at 1440p with 360hz monitor.

i'll fuck about in the BIOS.

You probably don't need to reinstall Windows. Just use DDU to remove the old graphics drivers.

And don't forget to update the chipset drivers. The latests are the 7.02.13.148

cheers but i've lost count of how many times i've used DDU on this card lmao

and i made sure to download from AMD the latest drivers when installing 9950X3D
