RACES:

ROUND 1 IS TO BE FINISHED BY JUNE 29TH!

Round 1: Best of 6 races, no stage can be selected twice in a set of races. Top two scores at the end of tall the 6 races will declare the winner
POOL 1 BETWEEN THEMSELVES
POOL 2 BETWEEN THEMSELVES
POOL 3 BETWEEN THEMSELVES
POOL 4 BETWEEN THEMSELVES

Tournament has officially started, use the IRC to communicate or send PMs, whatever rocks your boat =P. Just get Round 1 done ASAP.





This is the official thread for sign ups for the Mario Kart Wii tournament! This thread is FOR THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT, SIGN UP, DISCUSSION EVERYTHING. Now, this is how this is going to work:

1) There will be 8 Pools
2) Each will hold a minimum of 2 players and a max of 6
3) Races will be as follow:
------ a) Six Races for Round 1. Eight Races for Round 2. Ten races for the Final Round.
------ b) The top two with the most points will be declared the two winners of that respective pool.
c) All stages and Items allowed. Stages will be chosen randomly to save the hassle.
4) The two best of the pools will then race like this:
----- a) Pool #1 vs. Pool #2
----- b) Pool #3 vs Pool #4

Those matches will be the same as Round 1, just the top two of each pool.
5) Final match of the best 4 players of the pools will face in a TEN race final championship.
----- a) Two Winners of P1 and P2 face the Two winners of P3 and P4

Two winners will be chosen from each depending on the Points.

All controller configurations are good in here!!! Wheel users may receive a points bonus, but that is yet to be seen

Pretty sure you can get on through pidgin as well if you happen to use that already.

I recommend using this over PM's to setup the matches. Posting results will be done as this:

and so on.
THERE WILL BE A TIME LIMIT TO FINISH THE ROUNDS. THIS THREAD IS BOTH THE SIGN UP THREAD AND THE TOURNAMENT THREAD!

Bah MkWii has so many details I tend to forget. Bikes and Karts. Wheel only users will get a 10PTS overall bonus after all races are done since the wheel is clearly at a disadvantage.

EDIT: Also.. come on we need more people! I know there are many MkWii players, invite them!

Gotcha, also I never knew that Wii wheel users were at a disadvantage :lol At least i've never felt it.

Umm, I don't think that will be fair, Relix. I can race the best pretty evenly (not boasting, honest). Items also tend to throw havoc on everyone. :)

This guy has no problems whatsoever in our matches.

And, have you SEEN some of the wheel users when you play online? I find that they're some of the better racers o_O I always think, "HOW CAN THEY BE THAT GOOD WITH THE WHEEL!?"

We are seriously lacking people. I am looking at it and wow... we need a minimum of 16 to at least fill the pools, but that won't be competitive enough so try and get more people guys.

Ok, going to be cutting 8 pools to 4 pools only now since there is a lack of people. Sign ups will close June 19th, tournament will start June 20th. There will be some changes to the rules, specially how many races are played.

Since Mario Kart has a 30 friend code limit, what we are going to be doing is selecting one host from each pool and everyone will add that sole FC. That way, when looking for the match, everyone will find that one host and everyone will be able to join from there. No need to input so many friend codes. The host will be bolded in the pool list. Of course the host will have to add everyone else from his pool, if you don't want the responsibility let me know.

Will be organizing the pools now and adding the new rules:

1) Pools will race between them and choose the best 2.
2) Best 2 Pool #1 vs. Best 2 of Pool #2 and Best 2 of Pool #3 vs. Best two of Pool #4. There will be 2 winners, depending on the overall tally of points at the end of the whole set of races.
3) For the first round, SIX RACES will be done. For the second round, EIGHT RACES and for the final round 10 RACES. All stages are random, BUT NO LEVEL CAN BE CHOSEN TWICE! I REPEAT, NO LEVEL CAN BE CHOSEN TWICE, inside that set of races.

Yeah there were so many people and now everyone is suddenly so quiet... meeeh. Oh well, at least I thought about the possibility of not enough people and made a system where I could cut things in half and still work :D :lol

I've been trying to practice against my friends, so I hope im able to do well. Havent been online with Mario Kart since MGS4 and NG II released. Though have been running around offline.
