Someone sent me this. The fact that Cris Collinsworth is in the most hated hall of fame makes this my new homepage.

http://hatersweekly.com/sports.htm

The Eagles lost the big game, but in my book they are winners. Here are 10 reasons that Eagles fans should consider the Super Bowl this year a victory.

3. God was right, T.O. could play.

4. You were the beneficiaries of the most fraudulent coin "toss" in the history of the NFL. Note to the NFL: Don't let little kids handle important business anymore. What's next, a lucky fan gets to call the first 5 penalties?

7. Donovan McNabb is the coolest QB under pressure in the history of football. Down 10 points with two minutes to go against the one of the greatest defenses ever? "Don't sweat it man, we got PLENTY of time". The only way he could have gotten to the line slower was if he stopped to sign autographs.

Vick's progression? :lol :lol

Last time I checked quarterbacks were supposed to be able to throw the ball consistently. But if you call progression running like he always has and being able to hand the ball off to decent RBs then yeah....he's progressed nicely.

Let's see;

His first full year starting, the team made it to the divisional playoff round.

Second year full year starting, the team makes it to the NFC Championship game.

Pretty nice progression if you ask me. If the Falcons make the right moves in the offseason, I don't see a reason why we can't make it to the big game with a healthy Vick.

you can run but you can't hide mikey! our LB's are too fast!!

nice throw vick, it will improve your completion %! :D

suck it down falcons, we're going to be the cinderella story of 2005!

cowboys are the joke of a life time. first off, just know that there are 3 teams i hate with a passion: the packers, the cowboys and the rams, in that order. secondly, your coach is an old bastard who is on his way out. he should resign tomorrow as he is only hurting your team in the longrun. bottom line is the cowboys are never getting back to the playoffs with parcells at the helm, the game has passed him by.

i will close this post by saying we are going to absolutely stomp you next year when we play. good day to you

lol mushin mohammed sucks. hes way overrated.

btw, alexanders a good back, but he doesnt get those tough yards. he'd be a horrible fit in philly for that reason. I read the seahawks board all year, that's definitely his biggest weakness.

btw, fmt. orlando pace dumped the postons earlier this year. i heard ian gold did too, maybe julian peterson will take a hint.

I can see a reason. YOUR QB CAN'T PASS. When a good defense shuts down his running attack , he is worthless and I mean WORTHLESS. Thus, they will never win a superbowl as long as Vick throws like shit because sooner or later, you're going to run into a good defense.

Skip Bayless is such a motherfucking ass. He and Stephen A. Smith were debating on SportsCenter about various topics and then the topic came to TO and Freddie Mitchell's comments on him and Skip agreed with Freddie Mitchell. WTF? Smith ripped into Skip, saying something like "Skip, you're bias is clearly showing through, I don't know what TO has done to you, but you need to let it go man." Skip was like "TO took away from big play threats like Greg Lewis." LMAO the guy is a douche.

Dude, skiop is a drunk. He said TO took away from Greg Lewis? WTF? Of course he did cuz he's a top five WR in the NFL!! We want him to take away plays from Greg Lewis. And Pinkston and FredEx. Those douches had plenty of time to prove themselves. And they didn't. Or they proved that they are inept.

Either way, I'm campaigning for Greg Lewis to move into the #2 spot. Give him a chance to shine. As a matter of fact, TO, McNabb and Greg Lewis should all work out together this offseason. Stop being loyal to Stinkston guys. His time is up.

my guess is that Skip had a gay relationship with Jeff Garcia while Jeff was with the Niners and Skip was working up in San Jose, so he probably didn't take too kindly to TO publically ragging on his lover.

:lol

that would explain a lot

eagles would be far superior with lewis and owens as starters. move pinkston to 3rd wr, and cut your losses with fredex. i feel like mitchell could be a pretty decent 3rd WR/slot wr, but he is a freaking bust if i've ever seen one... and i've seen plenty over the past 10-15 years w/ the niners...

Skip is the man. Especially when he talks about the Suckeyes.

The Niners should trade their pick for Rivers or Brees, whichever one they can get.

Naw, he can pass just fine. He just needs decent pass protection and receivers.

Worst statement ever.

God, even his articles fucking suck. His latest on Emmitt Smith is half saying how good he was, and the seond half is about how much of a crybaby he was, always faking injuries. WTF Skip, at least be consistant. I hate him so much.

btw, do you guys read nationwide sports papers? I try to check all the major papers 4-5 times a week. For me, J.A. Adonde is by far the best writer in the country. He's always direct and knows what he wants to say. He's also of the younger generation, which helps a lot when compared to the 50-something writers out there who live to bash people like Iverson.

It was discouraging. I felt that it was a shot at me. It's not my fault. Its not my fault the Eagles coaches and coordinators put me in an offense to make plays. If he was the missing piece than they wouldn't have brought me here."

TO finally fires back at Freddie. Someone please get this asshole off my team. Owens on 1 leg is 10x the reviever Mitchell is.

Anyone watching the prowbowl. Eagles DB's got manning on lockdown so far. I know it doesnt really matter but you take what you can get.

Where did you get that quote from? Holy shit, we can say bye bye Freddie. But I've been saying, it's probably what he wants.

All indications are pointing to Bledsoe being cut by the Bills by the end of the month. Bledsoe + Parcells again?

Its from an interview he did with Micheal Irvin. Someone should tell Mcnabb the superbowl is over, just threw a pick.

Yeah I am. Mcnabb is keeping up with his performance last week and just threw an int.

OH MY GOD HE JUST WONT SHUT UP. His grave is deep enough but he is still digging away. Trade him for a box of crackers, anything, and I will be a happy man. He is in "i dont want to play in the nfl anymore" mode apparently.

"If you played this Patriot team 10 times, how many times do you figure the Eagles would win?'' I asked.

"Eight times,'' he said. "To me, the Patriots are not that good. We turn it over four times, and still they only beat us by three. We're the better team. But we turned it over too much. A good team crushes that Patriot team. I'm telling you, they're not that good. T.O. was hurt, and he still scorched them for over 100 yards.''

Speaking of Belichick, I told him Sports Illustrated had quoted Belichick this week as calling Mitchell "terrible ... We loved when he was in the game."

"Oh,'' Mitchell said. You could feel the steam over the phone. "I see. It takes a big man to talk after the game. Why didn't he say anything before the game? That shows what kind of guy he is.''

I asked him his opinion about Tom Brady.

"He's like Ben Roethlisberger to me,'' Mitchell said. "They don't put him position to make mistakes. They limit his ability to make mistakes. He's sort of like a robot.''

"The way we approached that long drive,'' he said, "the sense of urgency wasn't there. Maybe, if anything, Donovan should have run off and let [backup quarterback] Koy Detmer come in.''

Maybe 10 minutes after I hung up the phone, FredEx called back. "What exactly did Belichick say? I mean, exactly.'' I repeated the quote, the best I could remember from SI. "I'd really like to get in touch with him,'' he said. "That really pisses me off."

:lol :lol :lol

Freddie's pissed because he knows what Belichick said is 100% true. Wish someone would tell him what Steve Smith said, would love to hear his reaction to him.

I live in the Bay Area, and my dad usually listens to the local sports station. Anyways Skip Bayless used to be a regular talker (morning show) and I used to listened to him on the way to school.

This guy had things which must be very sharp up his ass whenever he talked about any of the Niners recievers. He used to talk shit about Jerry Rice (why do the niners still have him? he's fallen off... blah blah) in 1998! This guy talked so much bull that it just made you laugh, because he believed everything he said to be true. His co-host, who was an awesome guy, never agreed with Skip and always laughed at his weird ass thoughts about the niners. This guy dogged on Barry the year he got his 73 home runs, and still dogs on him to the day (the giants should not pay him this much... WTF?!?!?!).

Sometimes the shit he spews out his mouth is a little too stupid.

I was wondering did you happen to see Vick's peformance when he actually has good receivers to throw last night in the Pro Bowl?

Vick is a poor mans Cunningham.

According to the New York Post:

STEELERS WANT HOUSH

The Steelers already have a replacement in mind for free-agent receiver Plaxico Burress, whom they do not plan to re-sign — Cincinnati's T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Pittsburgh believes the H-Man can be just as good a downfield threat as Burress, and will certainly come cheaper. His dependable hands and selfless attitude make him a perfect fit for the Steelers' offense.

That's the first time I've heard that story so far, so I'm not sure how much truth there is to it.

And think about this combo: Roethlisberger to Houshmandzadeh. Would have to drop the Chunky and go with alphabet soup there.

That was Cunningham's sixth year in the league. Vick's only in his fourth, and his second full season. Cunningham had played 4 full seasons before the one you listed. And, huge surprise, Randall's second full year was rather close to this past year for Vick. He had a lot more yards, but a hell of a lot more completions too, and a lower rating.

edit: Oh god, now I'm sure that the Steelers front office is actively searching out fucked up names. Houshmandzadeh had a solid season this year, but it was his only decent year. Plus, he's a full four inches shorter than Burress, which would make our entire receiving corp rather undersized. I hope they at least make some attempt to sign Burress. Even if he leaves, I'd like to see them try and keep him. The same goes for Bell. He's had a couple of bad seasons because of injury, but his potential is tremendous. I'd hate to see him go off somewhere and be an elite player if the Steelers just let him leave.

Thanks. Pretty much saved me a post.

Burress can go,his attitude towards the end there about not getting the ball made me think less of him.Even when Ben did throw it to him he didn't come down with it,so meh.

I have no clue who we will take in the draft...but it sure was nice seein Porter and Ward doing good in the Pro Bowl :P

Has Bettis said anything about his plans yet?I also saw that Veron is a FA,they need him back, most underrated player on the team.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Arizona businessman Reggie Fowler has agreed to buy the Minnesota Vikings in a deal that would make him the NFL's first black owner.

Owner Red McCombs announced the deal, which will need approval from other league owners, on Monday.

Fowler's bid is reported to be in the range of $625 million.

He would become the first black majority owner in NFL history. The only other minorities who own the majority of a major American sports franchise are Robert Johnson of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and Arte Moreno of baseball's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

"Owning an NFL team was a dream of mine," McCombs said. He bought the Vikings in 1998 for $246 million.

Lack of progress on a new stadium soured him on ownership and precipitated the sale.

Fowler said he has plans for a stadium but declined to detail specifics. He said the team would not be moved.

Fowler said his group includes three additional partners, whom he declined to name.

League rules require 24 of the 32 owners to approve a sale. The NFL also mandates that a general partner must put down 30 percent of the cash portion of any franchise purchase, and little is known about Fowler's personal wealth -- though the Arizona Republic reported Saturday that he's worth more than $400 million.

Under league rules, the new owners are not allowed to be involved in the running of the team until the deal is done, McCombs said.

"We'll be running the team tomorrow just like we did Friday," McCombs said.

SCREW YOU L.A.!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Please do not cite Vick's performance at the Pro Bowl as definitive evidence that he can pass. The Pro Bowl is a joke of a game and means less than nothing.

He shouldn't have even been at the Pro Bowl in my opinion. Unless he made it as an RB.

Everyone around here knew that Garcia's days were numbered ever since he started running his mouth. I seriously doubt they're going to draft a QB. Most fans want them to trade down for more picks and I can't say I disagree with that.

Last I read he said he was still 50/50. Said he enjoyed his time at the pro bowl very much and that if it was his last game then it was a good way to go out. So, who knows. He'll probably wait a bit before deciding anything.

Haynes is pretty good, the problem is his health. I think they'll make him an offer because I'm not sure how much interest he'll get from other teams. I'm sure they're thinking he could be had relatively cheap.

Oh ok, your last sentence just proved your just your average uninformed Vick hater. Nevermind then.

Well, the case can (rather easily) be made that Bulger, Favre, and Delhomme deserve it more.

True, but the way he phrased it just shows that he's goes along the line of thinking that Vick is not a true QB.

Why are falcon fans so dillusional? If you look past the hype and take off the goggles Vick is at best an average qb. Dont be surprised when you miss the playoffs next year.

These people who watch a total of 3 complete Falcon games a seaon and Vick's highlights on ESPN, and think they have an accurate view of his QB skills, kill me. For the 44th time, the man's QB rating and stats are a direct result of lack of decent pass protection and lazy receivers. 8 times out of 10 the man is running to save his life.

Damn Eagle fans. You guys don't deserve McNabb or TO.

Much as I don't like the Falcons, I'm going to have to agree with Dorsey here. I saw a couple of Falcon games this season and each one of them had Vick throwing hard, crisp passes. To the point where the ball was being dropped by receivers it was thrown so hard. It's incredible to watch in a full game, fuck watching highlights. However, he has had games with multiple ints and less than 100 passing yards. Chalk it up to inexperience, trying to do too much, whatever, but give Vick the weapons that McNabb or Culpepper have and it'd be a different story.

Is there anywhere that I can see who each team applied the franchise tag to? NFL.com has the Bengals applying it to Rudi Johnson (phenomenal year for him, better than Chad, IMO), Eagles giving it to Corey Simon, and the Saints gave it to their DE Darren Howard. If not, is there any place that I can check everyone who is a free agent? This off-season will be exciting....

*PLZ PLZ PLZ Giants sign Burress PLZ.*

The Cowboys should jump at this but they won't. They are eyeing punch drunk Bedso to take over for old man Testiverty. What they really need s a viable future QB because it's obvious that Tuna doesn't think Henson and Romo are it.
