ok this dude at SI think the Cowboys will put on a serious Super Bowl run: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/arash_markazi/09/02/hot.read/index.html

I can see the playoffs as a wild card, but Super Bowl? I guess it could happen, but they're a bit young on D. Julius Jones is a stud though, he could lead them.

It all depends on if their oline can actually protect slow ass Bledsoe or not. That is a pretty big if. I think their defense will be mean enough.

Fellow fan of the Panthers, baby. tried to mostly stay out of previous NFL topics due to not having a lot of knowledge on football until recently(NBA's more my thing.) Very excited about this year. :D

remember our bet!

btw:

3-5-KC 35 (10:22) T.Green pass INTERCEPTED by A.Archuleta at KC 47. A.Archuleta to KC 47 for no gain. PENALTY on KC, Chop Block, 26 yards, enforced at KC 35 - No Play.

hands of stone archuleta actually caught one! omg!!

uhh that isn't Trent Green clearly.. that's J. Quinn. Who was unemployed until last week when our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string QB's were unable to play so we had to pick something up.

He looked awful last week, and it's continuing.. to be fair.. I'm sure it takes quite a few weeks to really pick up the offense.

Archuleta is great though. He just had a solid tackle where it looked like Priest was gonna leg out of it but he held on. It's so hard to really grasp anything on a entire team basis from preseason because most good offenses run such bland vanilla sets.

Both of our Rush D's look incredible :lol somehow I doubt that holds up.

Sounds like a cool idea. To make it more interesting, why don't we add a little incentive for winning? Perhaps custom tag for whomever has the best record by the end of the season.

The Lions first team O-Line got RAPED by the RAMS first team D. If the Rams D is raping you, you've got some bad problems. I even noted that this was one of my tossup games, and I'd rather go with the shaky but experienced Favre then the shaky and inexperienced Harrington.

The Rams did a lot of blitzing and the Lions chose to make virtually no adjustments to them (no slide protection from the o-line and no hot route adjustments by the receivers). While the Rams didn't mind showing off some of their stuff for the real season, the Lions held back called vanilla plays all game long, and chose to save all their stuff. The fact that the Rams took this game far more seriously than the Lions and gameplanned for this and the Lions made the results look a lot worse than it actually was. Now should the Lions o-line blocked better anyway? Yeah. Did the team lack intensity? Sure. But let's keep it all in perspective. It's only a preseason game that meant absolutely nothing. And the things that went wrong for the Lions in that game hardly indicates anything that will carry into the regular season.

Thursday, Sep. 8
Oakland at New England, 9:00 p.m.

Sunday, Sep. 11
Chicago at Washington, 1:00 p.m.
Cincinnati at Cleveland, 1:00 p.m.
Denver at Miami, 1:00 p.m.
Houston at Buffalo, 1:00 p.m.
New Orleans at Carolina, 1:00 p.m.
N.Y. Jets at Kansas City, 1:00 p.m. This one hinges on Trent Green and whether he starts.
Seattle at Jacksonville, 1:00 p.m. It can go either way, so I'll go with the home team.
Tampa Bay at Minnesota, 1:00 p.m.
Tennessee at Pittsburgh, 1:00 p.m.
Arizona at N.Y. Giants, 4:15 p.m. It can go either way, so I'll go with the visiting team.
Dallas at San Diego, 4:15 p.m. I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas wins, but I'm going with the Chargers because they've got a better theme song.
Green Bay at Detroit, 4:15 p.m. It can go either way, so I'll go with the home team.
St. Louis at San Francisco, 4:15 p.m.
Indianapolis at Baltimore, 8:30 p.m. It can go either way, so I'll go with the visiting team.

Monday, Sep. 12
Philadelphia at Atlanta, 9:00 p.m.

Well, I got a pattern and stuck with it.

I remember we tried this either early last season or the season before. Either Mig or DM made a site where you could see your record...it was pretty cool but it flamed out after a couple of weeks I think :(

Lots of away teams for me in week one. Jets/Chiefs = coin toss, so I'll go with the home advantage. Titans = upset special!!!!

Bills and Rams to combine for 180 points in huge wins.

Haha, I'll do that for the top 5:

Well, MiG, Bowser, FMT, and DM. I'll make it hilarious

FMT: Keep getting angry! I need Bulger to toss 5 TDs in the opener!

Oh, I think the Ravens definately can do it. I just have absolutely no faith in Kyle Boller. Lewis can very well put up 600 yards and score 7 touchdowns in this game, though, so I can't count them out.

because Seattle does really well at the beginning of the season! They don't start underachieving until around week 6 or so.

Check out Jacksonville's early-season results last year as well. They don't collapse until Houston turn up. ;)
