Well....The Ravens play the Titans next week. If we can't score against them (perhaps the worst D in the league)..we're fucked. It's the ideal bounce-back game.

So if the Ravens get shut out by the fucking Colts, we can put to rest all rumors of them winning the AFC(or the division...or another game all year long), right?

Has an offense ever gone an entire year without scoring a touchdown? Because if you can't score on the Colts, you just can't score.

LOL! Why would anyone choose Peyton Manning over LT, huh? Haha! Get ready to eat shit in FF, Archaix. Warrick Dunn is just gonna be icing on the cake tomorrow night. :D Peyton > Tomlinson. PEACE.

Manning's got 254 and 2 touchdowns. That's maybe two points in fantasy better than Kerry Collins, who played against a defense that was just as good. Would you have drafted him first overall?

"and all you hear about is Peyton Manning and Edgeren James and Marvin Harrison"

well..uh no shit cause you're the one that won't shut up about them, dumbass!

In the last 5 years has the colt's D put the clamps on anybody like this? although I guess you could argue that Balt is putting the clamps on themselves...

For the life of me since like the mid 90s I can't EVER remember the Colts shutting anyone out.

According to the broadcasters(who, I warn you, cannot be trusted under any circumstances), the last time they shut out a team was in a 1997 game against the Dolphins.

I love how they are talking about how this makes the Colts defense one of the top in the league and other such bullshit. Baltimore has a bad offense with a horrible quarterback, plus their kicker has blown three makeable field goal attempts. But the Colts defense! Great! You just got to, you know, ignore the fact that they let the Ravens, the second worst passing offense in the league, put up nearly 300 yards on them through the air.

You are still gonna lose. :P PEACE.

Thank god the season finally started, and how bout them colts!!

I know we were playing a horrible team, but we stopped the run really well the first half before we got up on them and they had to try to air it out.

It looks like it could be a real possibility that a trip to Detroit will run thru the RCA Dome

GO Colts!

Baltimore is like Florida State the past five yeras. No matter how good the rest of the team is, the quarterback will do everything in his power to lose the game.

And frankly, I don't care how often Boller underthrows or overthrows his receivers, committing 3 turnovers in a half of football is bad. Wright is feast or famine, and his famine spells are much worse for the Ravens than Boller's. They need Boller back.

With regard to the Grbac/Dilfer name-dropping. The forgotten man, and I guy who I legitimately think could have stuck around in Baltimore and done at least as well as anyone they've had since is Tony Banks. He wasn't bad as their starter. He wasn't great, but it's not like they've had "great" since.

I chose Peyton over LT with the first pick in one of my leagues. I thought everyone was going to spontaneously combust when I said it, and the guy who picked after me almost cried with joy. Of course, I'm playing him this week. Now he's crying tears of defeat!

Oh, and Baltimore just needs to tank the fucking season and get Leinart.

You know besides the Superbowl year I'm having trouble remembering when the last time was that the Ravens played well on national TV....

They kicked Cleveland's ass on TV (Sunday Night) and made the fans boo Tim Couch (who broke down and cried afterwords to the media).

I remember because I was at the game. It was ugly (to see the fans turn on him).

Sure I'm going to lose. I got negative 3 points out of my QB. Unless LJ Smith tears up the Falcons and Warrick Dunn tears up an ACL in the first quarter, I'm going to lose pretty badly.

Don't think I'll let you get away with that one friend.

Code:
E. Manning	10/23	172	2	2
B. Roethlisberger	9/11	218	2	0

Seems like a lobsided matchup at first glance, but don't be fooled.

Eli threw two ints, yes, but how did they occur? David Tyree let a ball bounce off his hands and into the hands of Karlos Dansby. A rookie lineman that was subbed in for the injured Kareem McKenzie let pro-bowler Chike Okeafor sky over him and tip a pass that was caught again by Dansby. Really, not even his fault. Plax had a key drop on a long pass, Tyree dropped a couple, and yeah, maybe he underthrew a couple of passes. The initial pass to Shockey was a beauty, and the other TD pass to Burress was perfectly placed. For a guy that was behind a line that was getting OWNED all day, that had their best player injured and benched for the rest of the game, Eli did pretty well.

Ben, on the otherhand had a pretty bad game if you saw it. 48 yards on a screen pass that Willie Parker had to use his amazing catch skills because of Ben's bad throw. The Tennessee defender fell down on the long pass to Randle El. The fact that Ben only threw 11 times should set bells off. His team was dominating enough for him, and then there were the miscues by the TEN D... or lack there of I should say.

So in week 1, I'd have to give the edge to Eli. Made big plays when he had to, while Ben got lucky with the team he is playing for and the team he went against. Eli beat the "Fast Break Defense" while Ben had to play against a D that could barely tackle.

Are you serious? I can't believe you are still hung up on last year's draft. Get over it, Big Ben was the best qb of the draft and no amount of damage control is going to change that. Amazing how much you are willing to spin things to make Eli look good. Is anything ever his fault? I also love how Roethlisberger has never made a good play in your book. Sometimes I swear the NFL threads are filled with more ignorance than the political and gaming threads combined.

Back to the Steelers, I am not really worried about Big Ben. He is going to make plays when we need him too, though the nature of our offense will always prevent him from having great stats or even throwing the ball a lot, I could care less as long as we keep winning. Our defense looked like garbage in the first half though. The team will only go as far as our defense takes us.

I was a surprised at how sloppy Baltimore and the Jets looked, but it is too early to make any judgments.

A few things -

Boller's injury is a blessing in disguise, ala Maddox and Big Ben. Wright can't win you games like an elite QB, but he sure as hell can manage one, and make the Ravens offense look like an actual fucking offense, better than Boller.

Is there a single commentary team in America that you'd describe as "good"? Cause the best I can recall is the Buck/Collinsworth/Aikman combination and I'd more describe them as above average.

I want to kick the shit out of Paul Maguire.

It's alright Bionic. Not all of our teams could have the best QB available in the draft. The Chargers got him. :(

You are crazy. Once Big Ben learns how to read defenses (probably by next season) while standing in the pocket he is going to be a top 5 qb.

Eli will still be potential and Rivers might still be on the bench.

Ah thanks... that's at least something... you know I was reading an article on the game last night and Freeney makes a comment I just don't get... he basically slams Billick for continuing to "play" the game when it's obvious the game is over...

"The game was over and [Billick] is still trying to run the plays," defensive end Dwight Freeney said. "He should be happy he didn't hurt one of his players doing that."

Wait... so once there's only a certain amount of time left in the game and it looks like you're going to be shut out you should stop playing?

Anyway... Freeney had a monster game... Some commentator on the radio a few days was talking about that in his career Ogden has only had trouble with 3-4 people... he listed who they were(of course I can't remember the names), and Freeney was one of them... he's just so damn fast... of course it didn't help that we didn't seem to mix up the count enough, NOR did we do any hard counts in an attempt to draw him offsides... I mean WTF.

I've never been a fan of Boller and I never will be, he's simply too inconsistent. I'm a fan of Wright but even I realize he forces pass completion attempts... that's really his biggest issue if he would stop trying to "thread the needle" so much I think he'd be a much better QB. He's accurate, he's got an arm... and he can scramble... We didn't have alot of penalties(that I recall haven't checked the stat line yet), but the ones we had were big ones that really hurt us(usually when we had just done something really well on offense or had Indy pinned) <sigh> on to next week and the Titans....

Seahawks with their 5th turnover, Jags win 26-14, DAMN do I feel great about this team this year!

Four field goals for Scobee. And four touchbacks - I feel a record coming on...

And even better, we'll be clear leaders of the AFC South by this time next week. :)

I just saw the highlights for the Colts Ravens game. Simon looks horribly out of shape. He must have put on at least 50 pounds. Something tells me the coaches seeing him in that state contributed to the cut.
