Dolphins are a good team, no doubt about that. Certainly better than the Jets...

Well, defensively they are, no question. Our offense is still better despite the last 3 weeks of (mostly) ineptitude. They have a good QB who doesn't ever hurt the team and is a leader. We have 2 of those 3. Either way, last game will be fucking EPIC--Chad returning home on the hated Fish! Awesome.

My last word on the Steelers game.

Goddamn I am so happy we have Big Ben as the qb of this team. I don't know how much longer he can keep it up (especially with the pounding he continues to take), but I hope Steelers fans realize how lucky they are to have a qb this good. Especially when we can all remember the Odonnels, Bristers, and Kordellias. Not to mention the Tommy Guns.

And the best part about the drive (which would break the heart of any team) was that it was against the Ravens. :D

Secondly, the NFL has to make the rules more clear on possession and scoring. The refs shouldn't have to think about whether a guy has or lost possession and whether or not he scored. It should a lot more obvious than it is.

And finally, the NFL really needs to clarify the unnecessary roughness penalties. There was a bunch of borderline shit from both sides in the Steelers game (I vividly remember Reed coming in to a spear a receiver late) and yet the only penalty called was against the kicker for a shove on a huge lineman? As the retards from ESPN would say, CMON MAN! Even as a Steelers fan I saw quite a few plays that would have been called in the past but they decided to let the players play. While I applaud the fact that they let them play why the hell don't they allow this to happen every game?

Remember Mike Tomzack? :D

I agree 100% on your assessment of Roethlisberger, he has a few annoying tendencies and he pisses me off on occasion but I wouldn't trade him in for anyone. His negatives are unfortunately magnified by a horrific line and recently a lack of a consistent running game but he's able to make good of a bad situation, despite popular opinion, I doubt any current QB could do half as well in his position. It seems some people don't appreciate the fine art of pulling shit out of your ass!

As for inconsistencies by the referees, I'm more annoyed at their refusal to throw a damned holding call our way. It's fucking ridiculous.

Holding calls are down for the whole league. It does suck that it is really apparent on some holds on Harrison on the edge, but the same is happening to every team and I don't want to complain too much considering how their defense has dominated every offense they have gone up against.

Colon seems to be immune to this new found trend :lol

Well reputation has a lot to do with it.

I think the refs automatically suspect something fishy is going on with our line whenever we break any run for more than 4 yards or when Ben has time to go to his second read.

All these Jets forums I visit are fucking retarded. Really this is what being a Mets fan must feel like. Anyone know a Jets forum the equivalent of BBIC?

Avoid Jets forums at all costs, just hang out here with the few of us and the incoming fairweathers when we make and win the superbowl.

JA Adande talking about the Panthers: "I'm not mentally prepared to say this team is the #1 seed in the NFC. Isn't this the team that started 1-2?"

No retard, we started 2-1 (2-0 without Smith).

ok that just confirmed it. My dream is to make a website that's completely devoted to the Jets, but it's going to be NoMaas like in content. Any "long-time suffering jets fans" that can rattle more than 10 bad losses off the top of their head, and equate a game being played to a similar game played 10-20-30 years ago is going to get ip blocked. :D

These 50-60 year old fans are really fucking annoying. They can't post without the SAME OLD JETS monicker.

I love PTI, though admittedly I haven't watched it as much as I used to so I don't know how the show is now.

Also, Carl Peterson is out in KC, resigned as GM.

PTI sucks balls now.

Don't know what happened to the show but it just isn't the same as it used to be.

And Wilbon and Kornheiser are even worse outside of PTI. Who decided that those clowns needed more exposure?

You talkin about next year? Cause it isn't likely you'll make the wildcard after losing to miami in two weeks.

I second this notion (we need the pick), however one slight alteration. Favre is going to meltdown in the superbowl and throw six picks! And he retires in shame!

Agreed. I used to watch or tape PTI every day but I just don't give a fuck anymore.

Chad's making you all uppity, eh? Good for you. Hope Porter tries his pre-game bullshit. Preferably with Kris Jenkins.

after 10 wins, its still wiser to bet money that porter will start some bullshit durring the week then actually betting on the team. But seriously how great is it that new england isn't winning the afc east! As much as the Jets are our rivals, and as much as i can't stand favre, hats off to ya Jets, to be at this point after last year is almost as crazy as being at this point for miami. But you guys did it with the most overrated qb of all time.

Spectral Glider said:
True, but this year, or did it start last year, they eliminated the idea that the goal line extends all around the world. So now, if the ball is snagged from out of bounds on the side of the endzone, it technically never crossed the line. See how stupid some of the these rules are?
How would that work? The trajectory would mean it has to cross unless the QB threw it from out of bounds...

Unless there's a QB that can curve the bullet! :O

By BBIC do you mean Big Blue Interactive (and whatever C means)?

If so, you need to read a little more carefully. Some of the guys that post there are pretty bad.

The goal line not extending around the world applies more to running plays and out routes.

Well in that case, it's still possible, but very unlikely. If the QB is far enough by the sideline that they can throw straight ahead with their arm out of bounds.
And I already said that. ;b But still, I don't see why a QB would do that and it would take a shitload side arm control (since it would have to be an unnatural throwing motion). Plus, he would still have to angle it...and the WR would have to be on the same page somehow.

I dunno, maybe a sidearmer like Rivers could. Think of it like a punt headed for the right front pylon, but the ball passes just to the outside right of the pylon. Somebody like Moss could maybe one arm that crap from the endzone. Wasn't saying it was likely or that it would be done on purpose, just that the possibility exists.

Would like to know why ESPN Radio is making the MNF game out to be some huge matchup. "Big game for the Eagles, must win!", "Browns aren't no pushover!", etc. Uh, dipshit Ken Dorsey is their QB. I know they're promoting the game, but be logical.

Also, good for Chief fans about Peterson.

Some news on Jacobs for this week's game vs. Panthers:

RB Brandon Jacobs' (knee) status for Wednesday's practice is unclear. "We'll have to see how he feels and how the medical people feel about his progress." Stay tuned on that one.
He's the biggest key right now. If he's in the lineup, this offense can score points. Note he missed most of the Eagles game and the entire Cowboys game. The offensive run game was average at best in those meetings. It also allowed the opposing defenses to stack the line, blitz Eli more, and jam the WR's. With Jacobs in the lineup, all that won't happen and would make Eli get into PA a ton easier. Whether he plays vs. CAR or not, I want him 100% in the playoffs. Everybody in the NFC is beatable. None are elite and none have a huge step over another. They need him healthy in the biggest way.

Dallas and Carolina usually match up really well when they play each other. I wouldn't mind seeing them in the playoffs again.

started the season 1-3, are 8-2 since.
Weather sure is fair today. Was a bit nippy before.

Well, in that slim possibility, then it wouldn't be a TD. I think they try to cover what is most likely first. The circumstances for that play are many and improbable. The reason they changed the out of bounds plane was because of what players were actually doing (remember that Vick fingertip TD?).

I get what you're saying, though. The rules should be more clear and less open to interpretation.

Anyway, Walt Coleman said the ball broke the plane (unlike yesterday!). Case closed, I guess. :P

can someone explain to me why the majority of the supposed "analysts" are just outright dumb when it comes to explaining the eagles?

its almost like they are afraid to critisize reid.

keyshawn just said "seems like reid is taking more control of the playcalling and they are running more".....WTF?

they keep overlooking the fact that before the past 2 games REID WAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPTING TO RUN.

58 passes against the Bengals? when McNabb was having his worst game of his career? WTF?

the whole season Reid kept claiming the loss of Andrews and sub par OLINE play was the reason he was not running the ball. so supposedly after losing Andews backup to injury, down to their third and last backup, they are all of a sudden a run dominant blocking OLINE? none of this makes sense.

its simple...Reid hates to run the ball. he will not run the ball until he absolutely has to or thinks the season is lost. he did the same shit with Garcia. Reid pretty much threw in the towel and let them run the ball and voila they made a run and made the playoffs. this season after the ravens game he threw in the towel again thinking it was over.

these past two weeks westbrook has rushed the ball the most he ever has in back to back games. this coach is a joke and im sick and tired of the media not calling him out. how average did eli look last night with no running game and no #1 WR? thats the eagles every game every season.

FUCK YOU STEVE YOUNG FOR MAKING SMITH LOOKED SMART. i cant believe the only "analyst" who called out Reid and the play calling is Emitt Smith.

Steve is the man.

And I really don't even want the Cowboys to make the playoffs... According to Al, the road to the superbowl goes through Dallas :/

steve's my second favorite receiver in the league. moose is up there too.

As a dallas fan I'd hope if the cowboys can get in, carolina gets home field even though past playoff experience there has been bad. All the nfc playoff contenders with the exception of NY play in a dome or are warm weather teams

if the eagles win out the cowboys dont make the playoffs.

everyone JUMP ON THE EAGLES BANDWAGON NOW!

and lose one falcons and or bucs please.

charlotte gets pretty cold in january... not to mention your sentence doesn't make sense.

I'd say pretty damn important guy is a menace on that d-line and he commands a lot of attention that said I still think he's a bitch...
