arrrrrrrgh so if Pollard has possesion when it hits his hands its a touchdown, but if he has to tuck it in its out...bah wtf , wasnt that conclusive, call on the field was a TD, and from waht I saw..how do you overturn that when it has to be overwhelming evidence. I guess it comes down to what they call a catch tucked in or control and in the hands.
because it's not a TD once his hands touch it, it's a TD once he has posession, which means it's a TD when it's secured in his HANDS (plural) or against his body with one arm. It's pretty clear that by the time Pollard had it secured, his knee was out of bounds, unfortunately.
Here's my beef with the Lions. You can't have Harrington going out there and having to watch over his shoulder the entire game. If you're going to let him play, then let him play. The guy threw EIGHT PASSES in the entire first half for like 45 yards. Do you people understand what that says to him? It's saying that the coaches don't trust him enough to let him throw the ball, so they'll just run it. Nobody can fault Harrington for this game, and they can barely fault him for the Chicago game. He's being set up to fail. His receivers are jogging through the routes (except Mike Williams, who SHOULD be the number one receiver... apparently Roy and Charles Rogers are too good to finish routes hard), his TE won't hold onto the ball (what an unnecessary fumble to end the first half), and on top of it all the coaches are cutting him off at both ends, not only refusing to let him throw but then leaving him out there for the media after a game like Chicago AND not coming down on the receivers for jogging through their routes. Plus they add onto his pressure every week because he has absolutely no security whatsoever, so everytime he goes to throw he's gonna be thinking that if he fucks up, he's out of a job.
I never really got down on Mariucci for the way this team was playing until today. You have three of the most potentially dangerous WRs in the NFL and you only have your QB throw it 8 times, then when the games on the line you expect him to put the game on his shoulders? Why the fuck SHOULD he trust himself... nobody else has any faith in him. Nobody else on the Lions is playing like a team out there. Case in point? The only guy to congratulate Harrington on the Pollard TD that was later revoked? Dan fuckin' Orlovsky. THATS IT.
This Lions team is fucking rotting from the inside out and draft picks are the equivalent to putting a bandaid on a sawed off arm.
