Lil'Wayne's blog is such an amazing source of unintentional comedy.

Thank you, genius at ESPN for this incredible gift.

Lil Wayne needs to give input for Madden 2010 so we can watch Soulja Boy review it.

"This is a game for playas who like football and shit. But not that gay European football crap."

They need to make a special jersey that is a mash-up of all of the disparate teams he's a fan of.

As a life long Ravens, Bengals and Giants fan I'm just glad one of my teams is still undefeated. at least the Bengals gave up less points to the Ravens than the Steelers did!

I really can't believe it. I know the Ravens offense sucks ass but come on. This is the NFL and you don't try to get 40 damn yards with a minute left? If I was a Ravens fan I would be pissed.

They had 2 minutes almost. Such pussy shit. I don't care how green your QB is. I knew they'd lose after their coach quit on them right there.

Simmons and Mendenhall on IR, doh! Well, Simmons is actually good news, Mendenhall is not. Will be interesting to see who they scrape up off the scrap heap to run the ball.

Shaun Alexander is awaiting poetic justice.

Tomlin's press conference after the game, they had it on the NFL Net.

The complete list of the Steelers walking wounded:

Willie Parker
Mendenhall - IR
Carey Davis
Simmons -IR
Hampton
Kiesel
Andre Frazier

4 guys wounded in the Ravens game alone. Every year, every damn year. And the Jags up next week, thank the heavens the bye week is after that.
This is what happens when you put criminals in a uniform.

I have to say that I think Steven Young is getting dumber just by being near Scott and Smith. I mean they were all kind of blaming the loss on Flacco and conservative playcalling, but before the game I am sure the Ravens defense would have taken 20 points from the Ravens in a minute. Some of the blame for that loss should go to the Ravens defense which let the Steelers back in the game. Who knows what happens if they don't give up that retarded 15 yard penalty on the TD drive.

And WTF is wrong with our offensive coaches? I was asking for no huddle for the last 2 games and lo and behold when we take the coaches out of the gameplan suddenly the offense is able to handle the blitz? Fuck that shit. We need to fire our entire offensive staff after this season and get some competent people.

Oh and even though I hate the Ravens and find them to be murderous scum, I have to admit I was pretty impressed with Flacco last night.

We would have destroyed him if Dick Lebeau didn't pussy out and drop everyone back for coverage on every 3rd down.

Well normally the safe play is to rush 4 and drop everyone back in coverage. Then it is up to the secondary to close the windows and maybe trick the rookie into an INT.

I agree though that Flacco didn't deal well with the blitzes and I too didn't understand why at times they stopped bringing the heat. Probably had more to do with their running game then Flacco (they were moving the ball on the ground against us and that slows the rush). Overall not the best coaching job from either team.

Still for a rookie playing on the road I thought he did a great job. Big difference to what we normally see from Ravens qb that is for sure.

The hit didnt even look that bad, I guess RayRay just nailed him.

Mendenhal ran his mouth a little too soon it seems. Sucks tho, I want the steelers at full strength this coming Sunday.

Hey, all it took for them to finally throw a friggen pass to Moore out of the backfield was for the entire RB corps to get decimated, brilliant!

I still don't get why it took Ben running the no huddle and calling the plays for this to happen. We (as supposedly uninformed fans) were all screaming for screams and quick short passes to deal with the blitz, but this only happened AFTER we went to no huddle?

As soon as they went no huddle that was the first time I saw the offense getting the ball out quick and it visibly slowed down the pass rush (and this with our 3rd and 4th string RBs).

Like I said before, whichever Bungles fan was warning us about Arians was 100% right. This bum needs to go and we need to get someone who actually understands how to run an NFL offense.

Well, I was certainly on the Arians hate train after the playoff loss last year. But I softened some over the offseason. But apparently the first game against the Texans was just an aberration, because everything since has been dreadful. The train is in the roundhouse and being fired up as we speak.

Agreed. Especially considering the talent this offense has (when healthy). I don't remember a offensive team as talented as the one we fielded at the start of the season. We had the greatest qb of all time behind center. A great backup (Batch not Sandwich). A good tight end. A pro-bowl running back and a potential pro-bowler backing him up. We had 3-4 good receivers with some young talent behind them. The only question mark was the offensive line and even that can be overcome to some extent with smart playcalling when you look at the talent that surrounds them.

Then we have a very talented defense with some great backers and a stacked secondary.

So at the start of the season I was pretty optimistic. We had a great qb and running backs and we had a defense that could stop the run, pressure the qb, and cover the pass. Now injuries notwithstanding, the playcalling has been downright retarded. Over the course of 1.5 games the only adjustment we made to all out blitzes (usually the easiest to deal with) came AFTER we went to no huddle and essentially took the coaches out of it. This team is too talented this year to let Arians fuck it up. Even our special teams coverage has been good and I don't even remember the last time it was this good (though I don't get why the last 2 weeks we have seen these insane 70+ punts).

I hope we stay with more of the no huddle and stay away from having Ben drop back 7 steps every time on pass plays and have no hot routes or short routes develop.

Yep. But most of your fears may be put to rest, they just brought back the DUMP TRUCK! And yes, I'm being completely sarcastic. But, he does know the system and if nothing else, he's an extra body. They can't be paying him much because they are only 2 mil under the cap.

Isn't he already the starting QB for the Ravens :lol

:lol :lol LMAO, I was looking like, WTF is he talking about but then noticed I left out a keyword in that sentence.

I meant to say that he'll be a good QB for them, for the long term. :D

They need to bring in someone who can block to protect the qb because this team isn't good enough to consistently run the ball on a good defense.

It all makes sense now :lol .

Flacco will be a good quarterback for the Ravens. He looked good at times last night, but it kinda sucks he had to go up against that Steeler D as a rookie. With all that said, they had a chance to beat the Steelers so that must give the kid some confidence next time they play.

Kiffin supposedly fired today, shocker. Mort's saying that somehow Al Davis is just not going to honor the contract and not pay him. Odd.

haha, thought you were being sarcastic... that was pretty much my assessment of Boller, "he's an NFL QB!"

The Laws of the United States say differently.

It's Mortensen's duty to have a new report on Kiffin being fired every three days, or so.

At any rate, it'll be about time. Davis is crazy, but Kiffin hasn't exactly been a stellar guy since the University of Arkansas incident. Might be a good coach, eventually. Raiders won't be good until Davis is gone.

It will be so hilarious if Denver hires Kiffin. It would not surprise me at all if Shanahan did that as another FU to Al Davis.

I don't agree with your assessment of Boller.

I know very little about the Raiders but I do know that Al Davis is above reality and the law.
There is a saying that there are two thing that are certain in life. Death and taxes.

Al Davis has proven that one of those is untrue. Once I review his W-2s I will be able to tell if he has gotten around the other.

Fired him over the phone AND he's not paying him. :lol

ThatCrazyGuy said:
How can he just not pay him?

Tirico and Van Pelt were talking about it and he's just going to refuse to pay him and make Kiffin go through the league to get any money, by garnishing the Raiders' TV revenues or whatnot. It's fucked up, and you really wonder why anyone would want to coach there.

I'm glad someone else noticed :lol It's starting to piss me the fuck off, we pin them inside the 5-10 and some punter with a god leg has the game of his life.

ESPN NFL Power Rankings are up:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=5

Redskins #6 behind the Steelers? What a fucking joke! Skins have played the top 2-5 offenses and shut down 3 of them, playing the #6 offense this week. 2 division road games, the 3rd this week. If we beat Philly, we'll probably end up dropping to #11 or lower. Woohoo! :lol

Someone should start the Week 5 thread before I make a Skins tribute thread.

I forgot how fucked up our schedule is, the Steeler's stretch after our bye week in week 6 is: Cincinnati... Giants, Redskins, Colts, Chargers... Cincinnati, Patriots, Cowboys. What the fuck :( We're screwed.

Something was very fishy about that punt in Philly. By my own estimate that asshole punted the ball like 90 yards.

Either they are injecting steroids into his leg or the ball was made of rubber.

As long as Ben is the quarterback we always have a chance.

But once Ben gets knocked out cold and Sandwich comes in you are free to panic and lose all hope.

Fortunately our division sucks and plays a similarly tough schedule, we can possibly win the division with a horrid record if nothing changes.
