Kiffin supposedly fired today, shocker. Mort's saying that somehow Al Davis is just not going to honor the contract and not pay him. Odd.

He knows he has to pay him that's why hes so reluctant to fire him, al davis is a true clown.

ESPN NFL Power Rankings are up:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=5

Redskins #6 behind the Steelers? What a fucking joke! Skins have played the top 2-5 offenses and shut down 3 of them, playing the #6 offense this week. 2 division road games, the 3rd this week. If we beat Philly, we'll probably end up dropping to #11 or lower. Woohoo! :lol

Someone should start the Week 5 thread before I make a Skins tribute thread.

Looks like NBC, CBS and NFL.com have us at #4, so I guess it's only ESPN with the hard-on for Steelers and Cowboys.

i honestly feel bad for Raider fans in a way, as there is ZERO chance they will have any success as long as Davis is alive (and who knows how long that might be). We have our own crazy owner in Snyder, but at least he's not senile and for the most part he means well. Al Davis is a control freak and is also cheap. Bad combo. HBO needs to pay as much as it takes to get the Raiders on next season's Hard Knocks.

I don't need Raider success. I just need McFadden success. Hopefully the team can take a step or two up the mediocrity ladder. -_-

Is Mewelde starting next week for the Steelers? That sounds...insane. I think I'd rather risk Alexander...

Watch Kiffin go on to become the next Shanahan.
:lol Unlikely. Maybe he'll be an offensive coordinator or something elsewhere. I still can't get over people thinking he's a good head coach. Revisionist bullshit.

How can he just not pay him?
He will pay him eventually, but I knew this was gonna happen because Davis gets to prolong it and fuck with Kiffin some more. Kiffin won't see that money for a year.

Funny, you guys were making fun of him for spending too much and now he's cheap.

And yeah, as long as he's alive, the Raiders are fucked no matter how much talent there is. No one wants that head coaching job and the players are gonna feel like they're pretty much doomed. It's gonna fuck with our QB, who's essentially a rookie, and he's been getting better by the week. :(

I can't believe Al Davis is only 79. He doesn't look a day under 150.

if i was kiffin i would just take the massive amount of money that davis is gonna have to pay him, and go walk onto some small college campus and try to get a coaching job there. no more hollywood, just pure football, and then you have your money to sit back on and raise your family.
