Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Jimmy Howard let in 3 goals on 15 shots in the first scrimmage at training camp. Cloutier has a shot at making this team.

That's worrisome.

I wish they could just dump Howard and go with Larsson as Osgood's backup. But I guess they have to give Howard a real chance after spending so much time developing him.

They should had done liek the rangers, giving up on Montoya and get some decent picks

Sharks #1 line needs to be Heatley- Thornton- Clowe. If Seto was on there instead of Clowe is would just be the finesse weakling line with a ton of talent but no physical play. Needs a guy like Clowe who isn't afraid to crash the net and disrupt the defense while lanes open up for Heatley and Thornton.

Second line would be Marleau- Pavelski- Setoguchi. Basically the unbelievably fast line. Those 3 can tear down the ice like no other.

So our top lines are looking really good. The depth is lacking though.

Yeah I think the line combinations someone posted on hfboards sums it up :

heatley - thornton - clowe
marleu - pavelski - setoguchi
mcginn - mitchell - someone
useless - useless - useless

vlasic - boyle
huskins - blake
murray - someone

useless

Nichol is actually supposed to be pretty good so I'm looking forward to seeing him. Boyle has said some things about Huskins really surprising him with how good he is so out top two defensive lines are also looking really good. As for the rest though.....eh. I think Shelley is still on the team and he knows how to pummel some face.

As much as I hate Heatley, Im gonna miss that Heat-Spezza-Alfie line. The thumping and intimidation they gave was unreal. Other teams knew they were about to get the shit kicked out of them when they got scored on in the first 30 seconds of the game. The best line in Ottawa's history and arguably at least the last 20 years.

Went to the Canadiens' first official training camp scrimmage; PK SUbban was a beast out there on the ice, Pacioretti played spectacular as well. Gomez and Camalleri looked good together on the ice as well.

really. they've declined of late, but that was one of the most punishing lines in all of hockey for a few years and one of the most dominant to ever be put together. they won't be remembered as such so much, though, since they never won a cup. wish they had...

I despised that line, but there was no denying their skill and ability to light it up. Power lines are awesome.

Lemieux, Jagr, Francis. Never forget.

Kennedy is on Malkin's line for training camp. I know sef likes this, but I am unsure of him on that line. I would rather keep the 3rd line from last year together.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if that's what happens later this year.

The NHL needs more cool nicknames... both for players (e.g. "The Russian Rocket", "The Finnish Flash", "The Mule", etc.) and for lines (e.g. "Westcoast Express", "Legion of Doom", "Pizza Line", etc.).

I'm not sure who has the best line in hockey now.
There are some good ones... SJ, Detroit, Chicago, Anaheim (Getz and Perry are seriously underrated), New Jersey (another underrated line), Washington, Philly, and even Vancouver are in the top echelon probably.

If the league was being led by somebody with an ounce of common sense we wouldn't be having the public relations nightmare we currently have.

I've NEVER seen a league more poorly advertised and promoted by its leadership. It's embarrassing.

Lindros was also part of the productive but short-lived FLY line with the Rangers.

Theoren Fleury (74 points in 62 games)
Mike York (57 points in 69 games)
Eric Lindros (73 points in 72 games)

Lindros' last good season and Mike York's best

So ended up getting tickets to 2 habs games yesterday! Will be at the leafs vs habs oct 31 and thrashers vs habs nov 3! Very excited.. nothing like a hockey game at the bell centre.

I don't consider that involvement. I consider that an infestation, of which Dallas quickly cured itself.
Ah, thank you. You've reminded me of that year he spent playing for Toronto. :lol

They need to bring back the awesome division names (Norris, Adams, Patrick, Smythe, plus 2 more for the new divisions) and the conference names (Campbell, Wales) first.

I was at camp today and Nicol was skating all over in a good way. His speed I would say is definitely up there in the range of Pavelski, Seto, and Marleau. As far as Huskins goes, his backwards skating was about on the same level as Murray. Not too quick to get started. Petrecki however was awesome. He did not get beat or let a shot go on any of his 1v1 drills when he was skating backwards defensively.

Unfortunately there was no scrimmage today because they rearranged the groups from 3 to 2 due to the lack of people.

The goal song is awesome! Cheesy lyrics, wacky camera movements... you just can't top that

Admittedly, It has grown on me in a masochistic way. It also has become a reminder of just how easy it is for us to roll over the Preds. I long to hear that shitty song once more in the playoffs.

Wouldn't that mean the Preds are scoring against you? :lol

Hence the masochistic factor. Fortunately for Sharks fans though, hearing that goal song generally means the Sharks are going to still coast right on through just fine.

The Preds are the only team I can say for certain we'll do fine against in the Playoffs no matter what.

I love hearing that song in April. It means we'll be around in May.

Ya Sef. Copy this shit. Print Screen it. Do whatever you'd like. Still won't help you in April.

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
IMO, Spezza's laugh just adds to his appeal, nobody wants a serious face and dull personality person like Sidney Crosby all the time.
