I'm really hoping Bret "The Hitman" Hart will interfere at Summerslam and help Hulk win against HBK.

That would make for one of the greatest storyline conclusions in wrestling history.

Pretty much. He's the most entertaining thing on the show since his heel turn, and he's actually good in the ring. Angle is fun to watch too, and I like Jericho but he's being horribly misused. The rest of the show can die in a flaming trainwreck, and that goes double for the fucking bookers.

Yeah, pretty much.

This week's show didn't really need to be saved by HBK the way the other Raws have for the last month or so, but Shawn delivered the goods anyway.
 
Am I the only one that was pissed off that Hogan just kicked right out of the Angle Slam? I mean he didn't even TRY (or couldn't cuz he sucks) to counter it. That just made Angle look weaksauce til HBK came in...Damn the orange goblin!

The angle slam is looking like a backdrop more and more everytime. Atleast before he used to do a half twist.

What are you talking about? Everyone kicks out of the Angle Slam now.

If anything made Angle look weak, it was Hogan posing for ten minutes before attempting the leg drop.

but man hbk just cannot take a solid 1 2 3 loss to hogan, there has to be some sort of swerve, because I seriously dont give a shit about hogan anymore, yes I admire what he did for the sport, but cmon Hulk brother you cant "GO" in the ring anymore, be a color commentator, or something.
 
During Hogan's last stint in WWE, he jobbed to a lot of people including HHH, Angle, Undertaker, Lesnar, and Rock. I don't see why he wouldn't be willing to job to HBK.

This was BRILLIANT tonight. BEST WRITTEN SHIT IN AGES.
 
HBK was awesome.. I was confused.. I mean, HHH talks for 10 minutes, no one really cares and I change the chanell.. HBK talks for 20 minutes and people in the stands are actually thinking of killing him.
 
I have a hard time believing that people really thought Bret would walk out through that curtain. WWE's infamous for curtain jerking the crowd. But it was a perfectly done teaser, and will probably get 'em a few more buys for Summerslam if ANY online rumours regarding Bret being backstage surface this week.

HBK has just been terrific the last few weeks, getting back to being one of the best heels in the modern era. The Hogan/Larry King skit, the impromptu high kicks on "Larry", Jerry and the camera man just adds spice to this turn. The shoot interview last week was on form, and Hogan did the expected by throwing Bret's name out there (gotta hand it to the geaser, he's never missed a trick). And Monday night was just classic Shawn...shooting on Bret, working the crowd, letting the crowd go crazy and knowing when to get back in and feed off their response. It was classic heel shit talking 101. Bret isn't gonna get anywhere near this angle...I doubt we see him before 'Mania, if he shows up at all. But Shawn sure left the door open for such a possibility. And I think he'd give Bret fans what they wanted if he was to return...I think HBK's moved a long way from the backstabbing bitch he used to be back in the day.

On a side note, I thought Edge's shoot last week was just incredible, though in some ways it was harmful to Matt since he completely wiped the floor with his return speech. Hell, Edge basically said that much in his shoot ("...all this time you were gone with all those feelings festering inside, and that was the best you could come up with?"). I know a lot of people here hated Edge long before the Lita thing, but he was fucking gold on the stick.

BTW, just found this while Googling...can't say I'm terribly surprised.

-- Several backstage sources, both on Michaels’ and Hogan’s side, have said that there is some real tension between them, and that the two just don’t like each other. A lot of people are worried about Hogan and Michaels making shoot comments on each other, which some backstage felt Michaels has already done, especially during his promo on RAW.

There has been a lot of paranoia backstage over one particular comment that Michaels made during raw, where he said “You’re just one move away from your star being snuffed out, just ask Bret Hart.” Some feel that this was a message to Hogan, saying that if he tries to play hardball on the finish of their match, Michaels could swerve it.

The word “screw job” has been thrown around regarding the confusion over the finish of the match. Although any type of real life screw job on Hulk Hogan is extremely unlikely, it may be used as a storyline to further push the angle between the two. Nonetheless, with all of the tension between the two, it’ll be interesting to see what happens next.

I cannot see a real life screwjob happening here...but could they do an angle where it's made to look like one? Probably wouldn't be the worst angle in the world, assuming it's the main event. It'll just add to the "OMG BRET'S GONNA COME OUT!!" zanyness.

Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge were the special guests tonight on Byte This on WWE.com. Here are highlights from the show, which lasted less than 18 minutes.

- Todd Grisham hosted, with Matt Hardy in the studio, while Edge & Lita were "via satellite from their home".

- Edge blasted Matt Hardy for dragging their personal lives onto the Internet, and commented that Matt Hardy acted like a "sixth grader". Edge said that Matt Hardy's "movement" has now "gone in reverse". Hardy laughed in response.

- Hardy (who kept saying "Amy" and "Adam Copeland", while at the same time mentioning their work names) said that he was "disappointed" in Lita, saying he had trusted her more than he trusted his brother Jeff, and she stabbed him in the back.

- Hardy said Edge is in his wrestling character "24/7" and all he cares about is being a "main eventer".

- Hardy said Edge has had multiple marriages before 30, and Edge responded that Hardy is 30 and acts like he only had one relationship in his whole life. Edge said he has made mistakes, but he admits to them, he doesn't cry about it like Matt does.

- They accused each other of living out their wrestling characters "24/7".

- Lita was asked about having her personal life dragged out into the public. Lita said that she made a mistake going behind Matt's back, but she's admitted to that, and she can go to sleep at night with a clear conscience. She admits she has made mistakes, but she fell in love with Edge, and won't apologize for it.

- Lita said it is hard to watch Edge and Matt Hardy go at it, but she will be by Edge's side at Summerslam.

- Matt says it is sickening to him to see Edge and Lita together, and he can't stand it.

- When asked about his music being played during the Edge-Lita wedding, Hardy said he loved it, since it just "fed the monster" and that brought him back.

- Edge said Matt is verbally and physically inferior to him, and referenced Matt's promo of two weeks ago versus the one Edge cut last week. Matt stuttered at one point, and Edge remarked on his speaking skills.

- They traded insults, with Edge saying Matt "talks in wrestling promos".

- When asked about Matt Hardy's comment from two weeks ago on Raw that he hopes Edge dies in a car accident, Edge said that Hardy "needs a life" and he must have said that because he was afraid to face him.

- Edge said he is Bill Gates, and Matt is a "hobo with a sign that says ' Will wrestle for food'."

- Edge said it is time to "Nut up or shut the fuck up" and walked off with Lita.

- Hardy said there is no one that can stop him from hurting Edge at Summerslam. He called him a "piece of shit and a lying scumbag bastard" and said that he was Edge's "worst nightmare", and he would show it at Summerslam.

For the screwjob thing, just use any half decent file sharing program. Kazaa's bound to have a few versions of it.

Man, for 10 minutes it felt like old-school DX days all over again. So much heel heat garnered the right way - on the mic - as opposed to bullshit backstage vignettes and whatnot. Where are the up-and-comers to carry the torch? The only guy I can think of in the WWE who could possibly trigger the same kind of reaction (back before he hit the glass ceiling and stopped caring) is Jericho.

HBK pwned Montreal eight ways from Sunday. Awesome.
 
Matt has said on his website many times that he is still friendly with Lita. They are through as a couple though. Meanwhile, Edge is trying to patch things up with the 2nd wife he has cheated on so far. Man, he truly is a scumbag :lol

I mean I would say angle was a DEFINATE torch carrier for michaels but hes got injuries that sooner or later will cut him short. I agree with jericho, and thats a shame about him, Id say christian is another one to keep an eye on also

(note I only mentioned workers who are AWESOME in the RING and on the MIC)
 
Christian is good (and has improved immensely in the past 18 months) but he's not close to matching Jericho at full strength. Funny, because Christian and HBK have similar builds (ie. not the typical big-men that Vince likes to push) you'd think that they'd try something similar. A DX-style faction for Christian to run, it's not like there aren't enough guys on Smackdown who could use the TV time in a stable. He can talk, he can garner crowd heat, and anything has to be better than this peep show nonsense.
 
When Gangrel & the Brood were gallivanting about (best entrance EVER in the history of wrestling btw), Christian wasn't on the stick. Gangrel certainly wasn't the most charismatic fellow around, and Edge could barely string two words together.

Now Gangrel's gone, and Christian is inarguably better on the mic than Edge is. Let the man run his own faction!

I am hoping for a Benoit/Christian fued reaching it's peak at WM. But looking at the Smackdown spoilers, seems like he will be going in another direction for now. That direction should bring some AWESOME matches.


edit-I remember Dave Meltzer saying years ago that Christian could/should be the bigger star out of him and Edge. I thought he was smokin' something, but it turns out Dave was 100% right.
