Since a lot of people avoid the big spoilers thread, here's one for the trailer.

It'll show during The OC tonight, so a HD version of the trailer should pop up online by 6:00pm PST/9:00pm EST. A quicktime will be on Hyperspace around that time.

Also, it's attached to every print of Robots in theaters. Going to go see that in DLP tomorrow night.

Seen the craptacular version already. Will watch The OC for the trailer. Will then watch it on Hyperspace after 9PM PST. And finally, will see it again before Robots tomorrow night.

In a nutshell: Absolutely incredible. Looks to be the Star Wars film we've all been waiting for.

you think they will show it in HD on fox? That would be great if they did! although most of fox still looks like 480p to me, i guess i would be happy with that

Yeah I was going to ask also do you know for sure it's going to be broadcasted in HD? That's the big question over on AVS right now. IMO, I think it will because the OC is broadcasted in HD and FOX showed HD commericals and movie trailers during the Superbowl, so I don't see why not.

target also has occassional HD ads on FOX and WB.. and someone (FOX???) had the new mustang convertible commercial on in HD AFTER the superbowl airings (weeks after). So it wouldn't be completely unheard of for them to have it in HD.... One would almost think being that the trailer was likely cut in HD (seen as though the entire movie and post are in HD digital) that the trailer will be HD as well......

here's to hoping (and setting the HD Tivo).

No one knows for sure, but since The OC is in HD and they're making such a big deal over the trailer everyone assumes it will be.

I already dusted off my VCR, which funny enough the tape it had inside from the last time I used it was the Clone Wars cartoons.

Kinda weird.

Today we get a new Zelda trailer (back to the OoT style) and a new Star Wars trailer.

In 1998, in November I think Zelda: OoT came out the same day as the first Episode I trailer.

I remember picking up my copy of Zelda and then rush home to watch the Ep. I trailer.

Whats the word on quality? Is it going to be broadcast in HD? I want a rip as soon as possible. I can not fucking wait. I might actually line up for this one too like the others even though i said i wouldnt, i just cant fucking resist the power of the darkside.

The Episode I teaser trailer came out the week before Ocarina of Time.

The trailer hit theaters on November 20th, 1998:
The teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode I appeared in general North American release on Friday, November 20th, 1998. As a service to www.starwars.com fans, we are now presenting the trailer here on the site in several formats.

Ocarina of Time shipped from Nintendo on November 23rd, and was in stores on November 24th.

I've got The OC on my Tivo tonight. Not something I watch. Ever! So I'll fast forward to the Trailer. Just hope my Tivo doesn't blow up by putting this crap on it. :)

Manabyte you seem up on all things Star Wars. What the lastest rumors on the tv show?

Lucas was talking about it at the Oscars to people and apparently it will take place between Episodes III and IV and chronicle the rise of the Rebellion and Vader as opposed to a post-Episode VI series. The post-Episode VI idea has too much potential to step on EU toes and piss off people, while the between III and IV idea is wide open with a twenty-year span between the two movies.

Thanks, Mana. Is Kevin Smith going to run the show as rumored, or was that bs? And is it supposed to start in 2005/06 or is it further off than that?

Still looks like Kevin Smith may be involved. Also, the setting of the series makes sense seeing as how Lucas cast Jimmy Smitts as Bail Organa and his movie contracts may have had a series option for a recurring character.

Latest rumor is that the series is either 2006/2007 and there is a massive bidding war between FOX and the SciFi channel brewing over it. SciFi wants it because of their built-in audience. FOX wants it because of their parent company's relationship with Lucasfilm and they want to slap it in The X-Files old Sunday night timeslot at 9:00pm.

It'll be on the internet almost instantly. Why sit through a crappy episode of The OC for this trailer?

"In-between" the two trilogies sounds like a bad time for the TV series. I doubt you can get James Earl Jones to keep doing the voice work, and without any Jedis the fans probably won't be too interested.

It will be weird though, seeing a Star Wars show on FOX. It totally doesn't fit with the rest of their lineup.....and will be cancelled after 5 episodes :lol

That's why they'd make Boba Fett the main character and the focus of the series will be him hunting down the remaining Jedi with the rise of the Rebellion and Vader happening in the larger scope of things.

Oops I was wrong! Access Hollywood is on now and they'll be showing the trailer....Or at least a sneak peek if anything.

That premise is okay, but it seems like a bad idea to pit two of the most loved Star Wars elements (Fett and Jedi) against one another.....especially considering that Fett has to "win" everytime so he can survive to EP4-6. Who wants to watch Jedi die every week? If it must be in-between trilogies, then follow a group of outlaw Jedi trying to survive and having occaisional run-ins with Fett once or twice a season.

And if it's a matter of fucking up what the novels have done, haven't they already shit all over the novels' background for Fett?

:lol @ the idea of SciFi being in a bidding war with anyone. That's like CartoonNetwork being in a bidding war to get the rights for the superbowl. The specialty networks don't have anywhere near the cash on hand to do anything other than get a quick laugh from their competitors.

Fox wanted the Clone Wars series. Guess who got it?

The torture I inflict upon myself to see this damn trailer, God I fucking hate the OC.

I feel like smashing the TV. Fuck you Fox.

What the hell would Fox have done with a bunch of 3 minute shorts?

saving private ryan??

OMG LOL.

Wait, that's a good movie.. maybe I should pop in the DVD instead of watching this horrible show.. I'll just.. Oh, yeah. Trailer.
