Have fun. :D

Well by staying on topic just pretty much talk about anything in the realm of politics. Stay away from pics of Jason Sehorn and Angie Harmon. ;)

Man it is a madhouse here. I got to work late 'cause of all the security on the subways. I'll make sure to take the lex. ave lines for the rest of the week.

I could practically see McCain choking on his own shame while towing the party line in an interview. It's going to be interesting seeing him praise President Bush during his speech.

Aug. 30, 2004— The ice in the river is thick, but the currents have moved in President Bush's direction.

Sampling, data collection and tabulation for this poll were done by TNS.

As his nominating convention kicks off, an ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Bush has erased most of John Kerry's gains on issues and attributes alike, retaking a sizable lead in trust to handle terrorism, moving ahead on Iraq and battling the Democratic presidential nominee to parity on the economy — the three top issues of the 2004 campaign.

Bush also has reclaimed an advantage in being seen as more honest and trustworthy, bolstered his rating for strong leadership and moved to a 10-point lead as better qualified to serve as commander in chief, erasing Kerry's edge in the latter after his convention late last month

NEW YORK – President Bush has gained ground on Democrat John Kerry in the month of August because of "relatively small but unmistakable" shifts in the political environment, Democratic strategists said in a memo released Monday.

The polling memo by Democracy Corps, a group led by pollster Stan Greenberg and strategist James Carville, said the subtle gains by Bush have knotted the race again after Kerry had a slight advantage after the Democratic National Convention in late July.

Wait a minute. You're posting a news story from someone you don't trust? What the hell is the point of THAT?

A recent Zogby poll only shows 6% of Americans as being in the "undecided" column. I fail to see how "leading the undecided voters" counts as a big deal at this point.

Last but not least -- I thought that Mandark had an existing policy about posting poll numbers. If he's out there...can you please clarify the rules?

considering how close the race is, leading the undecided is a big deal.

You certainly love to pick and choose your stories. A Zogby news item from just FIVE DAYS AGO, projecting the total electoral college result if the election were to take place right now, still shows Kerry as a winner: http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=853 Also, a recent Zogby poll only shows 6% of Americans as being in the "undecided" column. Yeah, whatever happened to that policy? It was great to watch posters whose sole purpose in life is to twist "hard data" such as meaningless fucking poll numbers into some ATOMIC BOMB WINNER for their party freak out, being limited to posting polls good for the other party.

Maybe it still exists...that would rock.

The other thing which needs a verdict: Hey, Wellington? Does posting poll numbers -- or ANY other non-convention-related news -- in this thread constitute "off-topic?"

Is C-Span the only channel airing the RNC tonight?

Uh, no.

MSNBC, FoxNews, CNN have live coverage from 8est on. They're "there", but only showing the speakers until definite coverage at 10est.

ABC, CBS, NBC all start at 10et.

Weird. Only channels it's showing up for on the Tivo guide are C-Span, and KUED (local university station).

Really? So they hate freedom. So why isn't the Netherlands FUCKING DUST?

You know what I think? I don't think that Osama Bin Laden had those nineteen guys fly those planes into those buildings because he hated freedom. I think he had them do it because of our support of Israel, our backing of the Saudi family and all of the American military bases in Saudi Arabia. You know why I think that? BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE FUCKING SAID. What are we, a nation of six year olds? Answer: yes.

Ah, God Bless David Cross.

I didn't see any headline speakers at the DNC criticizing something so pointless, either. Or calling out a celebrity on his opinion DURING A SPEECH.
