If the month you're talking about is September, then... well, there were Neutopia II and Landstalker, but I guess those are technically old games.Kodiak said:so raise your hand if you will enjoy NPD this month more than any game released this month.

Price Drop + Halo 3 + 5 week NPD period = greater than 500k in sales.Gahiggidy said:Can some of you people explain how 360 gets to 500k and above. It was sub 200k just a couple months back.
It sold 280k last month which was a 4 week period. So I think with the extra week plus Halo it should see a nice sized bump easily hitting 500k+.Gahiggidy said:Can some of you people explain how 360 gets to 500k and above. It was sub 200k just a couple months back.

software sales up big time. boosted mostly with Halo 3 sales, though other sales are increased due to early holiday shoppers. Wii sales up due to increase in supply to ramp up for the holiday season and to help counter Halo 3 sales. sales spurned by solid sales of Flash Focus and Phantom Hourglass bring the DS back to the top. 360 system sales also spurned by insane Halo sales and the prospect of the limited Halo edition 360 increase 360 sales significantly, but not enough to catch DS and Wii pre-holiday season sales.
thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
yes, i know, edited for clarity.BishopLamont said:Flash Focus release date is October 15, this is for September dude. Also it won't hit 500k, non games don't debut at high numbers. Oh and how is MP3 going to hit 500k when it debuted at 218k last month? There's following your gut and there's blind predictions, I think yours falls within the latter.

Wii sales up due to increase in supply to ramp up for the holiday season and to help counter Halo 3 sales. sales spurned by solid sales of brain age 2 and Phantom Hourglass, not to mention a separate SKU for the crimson/black color, bring the DS back to the top. 360 system sales also spurned by insane Halo sales and the prospect of the limited Halo edition 360 increase 360 sales significantly, but not enough to catch DS and Wii pre-holiday season sales.
in specific software sales, Metroid sees a very good month due to positive impressions and Wii consumer curiosity (expanded audience). 360 Madden and Bioshock sales see sharp drop during run-up to the launch of Halo 3, perhaps even further than i'm predicting. Phantom hourglass gets excellent numbers for the short time it's time on the list for the same reason as Metroid's successes. Brain Age 2 sees a larger resurgence for early holiday shoppers.
thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
I got the feeling that you're not the only one who failed to take that into accountAbsinthe said:Five week month? The Wii has a legitimate shot of hitting at or near 600,000.
As the original post says, you might want to put software stuff in a quote. WIth the brackets like that, it could try reading them as the final word on your hardware estimates.doomed1 said:1. [360] Halo 3 - 3.9 million

Sure seems that way. If weekly sales were completely flat from last month, things would end up liketitiklabingapat said:I got the feeling that you're not the only one who failed to take that into account![]()
