I bet that third title is going to be that piece of shit Code Ass game.

Nomura has nothing to do with Code Age. Plus it's already confirmed to be playable during the the event.

New KHII screens look hot. Needs more new worlds.

what time (EST) is the event supposed to start? :O :O

well its Jyly 29, 11:20 PM in Tokyo. Since it's a public event we will have to wait for people to return from the show and report in and that might take a while. You should check tomorrow morning, I hope we will have something by then.

Is there any possibility of another SE title being announced for the X360? Or are we more to expect things like release dates to the games we already know of?

3 titles will be playable at the show including Kingdom Hearts II, Dirge of Cerberus and a third title that will be a "world premiere".

Will it be for 360? No one knows! But yes they will annouce the release date for FFXII.

One thing I do not understand is the clamoring for a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

FF VII Is about the only game I'd like to see a remake of. That's only because going back and playing it now is hard because the 15fps battles look rather ugly and oh so choppy. Actually would an emulator fix the frame rate? If so I'd say screw the remake too, just give me FFXII now please.

Why would I want Square to devote resources to a game I can play anytime right now? Just for updated eye candy? How about some new eye candy with a completely new story to go along with it?

Meh. Remakes.

Hopefully they just ignore all of you and make FFXIII and XIV.

Even though FFVII was a technical marvel when it was made, it has not aged well visually. That's only the minor concern. A remake would probably also act as a 'directors cut' of sorts, giving Kitase and Nojima and opportunity to add things to the game that they ran out of time with back in 1996/1997. The english translated version would, hopefully, be handled by Alexander O. Smith (FFVIII, Vagrant Story, FFX), which would automatically be about 20x better than the shoddy translated version we got in 1997.

It's been stated multiple times, by the likes of Sakaguchi and Kitase, that Square had to hurry-up production time to get FFVII out at the end of Jan. 1997. As you saw, with a few more months, they added some content to the US version that was intended for the Japanese version- but there was still more they wanted to add. One I remembered reading about was the idea of automobiles as a mode of transportation on a massively scaled Midgar upper-plate, and also on the 'overworld' (a design that had to carry over to FFVIII). A lot of content for Vincent and Yuffie were snuffed and time restraints on production required that the two became 'hidden characters'.

A FFVII remake would mean a much more complete package- not just new eye-candy for the graphics whores... even though, admittedly, the thought of all of those great scenes being reworked on PS3 is enough for me to slap down my $60, easily. :)

The event starts at 10:00 AM Japan time.

"- 9:00 PM Eastern Time the party will start. (July 29th)
- 6:00 PM Wester Time the party will start. (July 29th)"

3AM in Japan, 7 more hours to go!

so are we gonna get an exclusive xbox 360 dragon's quest online as the [supposed] secret unannounced title?

The highlight of the event is going to be FFXII. Square has kept the lid on the title since E32004 and today they will finally show it to the very eager Japanese public and give the release date as well (IMO).

The event is mostly about PS2 stuff but Nomura said that there will be one ''world premiere,' and that's probably world of mana! I don't know where u got the DQ online bit from.
