My god...

More fights need to be exactly like this

that round>>>>>Elite's entire card last night

that double toe hold was some Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior type shit

:lol

Slight stretch, but yeah this is some good shit.

Dana, focus less on heavies, make a 140lb division in the UFC. Or fuck it, bring in feathers and bantams. :lol

fight of the year. the dual toe holds what the fuck man

fuck, guess not.

HOLY SHIT LOOK AT HIS EYE

Torres is nasty.

All that groundwork when he's on his back really makes a difference.

Edit: NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Wow it got WAY worse during the commercial.

What.an.awesome.match. One of the better I've seen.

Question I have. Is the WEC loosely affiliated with the UFC?

Same ownership.

WEC is owned by the same company that owns UFC.

I have a feeling we'll see a rematch of this one.

edit: okay, ya, that eye is COMPLETELY shut. It sucks, but that's a legit stoppage.

Torres is now 34-1. And he avenged that sole loss.

That's insane. That's a kind of dominance you just don't see in MMA.

I assumed so becasue I see the same refs and corner men for both leagues.

They better have a rematch of these two. SOON!

Not to take away from the kid, but who's he fought?

This fight was almost as good as the Kimbo fight last night...I didn't think it was possible.

Bullshit. That fight far and away eclipsed Kimbo's fight. This was Fight of the Year potential.

Refs are from whatever commission sanctions MMA in that state, not due to what organization it is. And cornermen are whoever the fighter brings in, usually from his gym/camp.

It does explain the cross promotion and showing UFC fighters, though.

Woo, Geoff!

Yeah, Zuffa (company that owns UFC) bought out WEC a few years ago. They robbed some talent (Rampage, etc.) and turned it into their light weight league. basically

First off, I agree with the stopage, but I feel so bad for some of these fighters though. You can tell for a fighter that was fighting that hard that this means so much to him, and then to have it stopped when you still feel like you can go. It got to be just depressing for you.

That fight was easily the greatest fight I've seen to date.

pretty sure you're thinking of WFA, not WEC (as far as Rampage is concerned).

Fighting against Torres has to be frustrating as hell.

Solid stand-up game. Great ground game. Seemingly great submission skills. TAUNTS!

I'd hate to fight him, but fuck is he great to watch.

Legit question.

The 135lbs class isn't as developed as the higher weight classes in MMA. His record is padded, but not to the extent that, say, Sean Sherk's is.

I don't think the best at 135 have really faced off against each other, but you have to put Torres at the top of the heap based on consistency.

Maeda might be the most impressive win so far, as he was 23-4-1 coming into the fight against Torres.

MMA-GAF, we will see what RubxQub, who became a MMA fan yesterday through Kimbo thinks of the WEC and MMA in general after tonight.
