My friend started playing COD2 under my account and got trough the first 4 missions. I wanted to start over from scratch, so I deleted the saved game in the dashboard. Then I fired COD2 back up and the missions were still shown as being completed. WTF? Does anyone know how to truly delete saved games/progress? COD2 is not showing up under the hard drive, and you can not delete progress in the game itself either.

I have no idea. Im thinking the Game is linked to your gamertag with the achievments and all, but as far as deleting them, there has to be some way. Maybe an in-game option?

If it's like riddick in that its good enough to warrant playing through again a few times, then I'll go for it, but otherwise I fear it wouldn't be a wise investment. COD2 looks good, WWII games aren't really my thing but after seeing my room mate play through the original I might have to give it a try.

has anyone firgured out how to send a invite to a game?

I'm playing NBA2K6 and I'm sitting in a lobby. I go to my friends list and the option to send a game invite is grayed out.

That means the game is a piece of shit, like COD2.

I've had the boot-up / no signal thing now, too. I started the system, ejected the disc to swap it out, put in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe (to see if the awesome new controller makes this game playable...it almost does), and when the disc tray closed, the dashboard disappeared...then my TV said no signal. I rebooted and it was fine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I am planning on calling MS soon about this...

I was going to play some PGR3 today via XBL playing against John Tv. Anyway, he was chatting with me, so I plugged in my headset into the controller and he couldnt hear me... Do I need to plug in my headset prior to turning on the system, so the system will recognize it? Or do I need to foward ports on my router? Or do I need to put my system on my DMZ server in my router? Please let me know..

if you DL the media connect from xbox.com it has a nice little setup. I was still having problems connecting my pc to the 360 so I ran the home networking wizard under control panel and it's sharing media again

Clear your cookies and refresh. If you sign into passport, but fail to register for your xbox gamercard/profile/whatever, you will get an error message.

Ha ha, called back to the US yesterday to talk with the family and it seems that my younger sister managed to get her 360 on Friday (works at EB, but had to wait due to a lost UPS package...but they got a few more on Friday). Apparently, after work, they had a security guard escort her to her car, as walking around with a 360 could be dangerous, they said.

I guess it WAS Black Friday, so who knows what someone might have tried...

I think I just have bad luck with launch consoles... my Gamecube was totally messed up first time around, and now my 360 crapped out.

Basically, I'll try a cold boot in the morning or something, and 80% of the time from the cold boot, the ring of light will turn on, and it'll start working inside, but nothing'll show up on the screen. I'll then turn it off then turn it back on, (sometimes multiple times) and finally it'll work, and it'll work fine. But sometimes, I'll get a notification saying "system Error, contact Microsoft support." Once it's up and running, and I try turning it off and on, it'll turn on fine.

Anyways, I called Microsoft tech support, and was surprised at how helpful they were. I've had some bad blood about Microsoft when it came to their computer division (another long story, which is why I'm typing this up on an iMac) but they were very helpful and told me they're sending me a box to ship my Xbox in, not costing me a cent, and I should have it back in 7-10 days.

Otherwise, I'm very impressed with the 360; moreso for the online Live portion than anything. The fact that this thing pretty much acts as a media center is really good; I love plugging my iPod in there and just loading up some music. If the games keep rolling out, I may just say screw the PS3 and keep on with the 360 and Rev.

I think the way it works is that it ties your progress to your profile, regardless of if it's linked to your Live account or not. I'm sure this was done for convenience reasons, but it's kind of stupid as well - if progress is recorded on your profile, is there really even a need for a save file? They should definitely provide the option to start a new game whenever you'd like, but with this method, you cant..

I'm having a weird problem with my 360 and LCD HDTV...

Popped in NBA Live 06 and I noticed a cluster of four pixels stuck on green. It's REALLY noticeable so I'm sure it wasn't there before. Thing is, if I try other games, or even that funky PSP-screen-fixer test pattern thingy (flashes red-green-blue so stuck pixels are REALLY obvious), I can't see it at all... which is making me think that they may not actually be stuck, and it might just be an NBA Live thing.

I don't know much about how LCDs work etc, so is this the "beginning" of a stuck pixel or something? Will playing more REALLY make it stick? Or is it stupid to think that it can only get screwed up in one game and it's actually just a graphical glitch?

(Or am I better served making this a new topic to attract GAF's greatest HDTV minds?)

Swung by the local EB Games today to check if my preorder was a guarantee, which it turned out to be . So on thursday evening I and 91 others get their premium packs, whee.
I upgraded my console-only preorder to this special limited kinda bundle too; premium pack + 2 games of my choosing (took PDZ and PGR3) + an extra 3 months of live + 1 extra wireless controller. All for ~570 €.

I was pretty lucky, I didn't order until the 16th Nov and I ordered 2 at woolworths. They took the money today and are shipping overnight on Thursday Kind of makes a mockery of pre orders placed at Game etc back in August/Sept not being fulfilled.

Yep, EB Games had in stock the advanced Scart Cable, wireless adapter and Call of Duty. No other publisher titles.

The real shocker is the price of games in Finland - first party games for 69.90e (82.5479 USD).

It's not all bad though since I took advantage of the EB Games deal of "Bring in your old Xbox and 10 games" and get the Xbox 360 value pack for 110 e (129.847 USD).

They got all my old crap, including PGR2, Rallisport Challenge 1, Midtown Madness 3, RTC Wolfenstein, Evil Dead, Moto GP 3, Burnout 3, Star Wars KOTOR. And no I never played Evild dead, got it free from THQ.

And EB Games here has a "return a game within 10 days, cash back, no questions asked" policy. So I bought last weekend Half-Life 2, completed it (AWESOME!!!) and got a full refund. Sweet.
