I'm suprised that it cost $100k to port Dig Dug.
I'm guessing that the 100k isn't strictly development costs, but rather the overall costs to Namco for the whole process, since it's a huge company. Stuff like managers, payroll, etc. Minter, OTOH, is basically a one-man factory, so all of those costs would be "strict game development" and therefore lower.

Major Nelson's XBLA Top Ten for the week of 10/8/2007

Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions)
1 Tetris Splash
2 Puzzle Quest
3 Sonic The Hedgehog 2
4 Bomberman LIVE
5 UNO
6 Streets of Rage 2
7 TMNT 1989 Arcade
8 Geometry Wars Evolved
9 Worms
10 Puzzle Fighter HD

Just got a bawks last weekend and am wondering what other XBLA games to DL

TMNT - picked it up and loved, but not a lot of people playing online

Bomberman - Got it and play a lot

SoR2 - Hard to get someone to play it with; hasn't aged well

Puzzle Fighter - Awesome, a good amt of people on

Fatal Fury Special - Lags like Xband did on MKII, but fun to screw around with.

Pinball FX - Looks good, but not $10 good. For $5, I'd bite. Is competitive multiplayer more fun than Metroid Pinball?

Puzzle Quest - Got it on DS already and couldn't finish it. Too much to do. Live multiplayer would be cool, but once people max out their character, it would be pointless

Catan - Seems fun, but games take a long time and IGN review says random games aren't as fun as with friends. WIll probably get it eventually

ALien Hominid - Never got the GC or PS2 version, will probably hold off on this

Tetris Splash - Pointless when DS tetris is already great online.

Is there a patch to play old copies of Dead Rising Online, or do I have to pony up for the Platnium hit version?

Picked up Phantom Dust on Amazon for $5. Is anybody still playing that online?

No Yaris?

You know what games would be perfect for the Xbox Live Arcade?

Power Stone 1 and Power Stone 2. Especially the latter.

*Thinks of Xbox Live Power Stone battles*

*Drools*

Absolutely. I'd play all the time.

The platnium box says it supports live though.
All 360 games claim that; and they just mean leaderboards. (Which are in the regular Dead Rising as well. 16 days in infinite, are they crazy?!)

Free games don't count, only purchased games. You can't purchase Yaris soo.....

Same thing with Aegis Wings

p.s. XBLA needs Chu Chu Rocket yesterday.

2DMention, I'd recommend Geometry Wars or Mutant Storm Empire, or both if you like those type of dual analog shooter games. Pac Man CE is awesome too.

Also, Rumor Patrol, E4 to drop this Monday?

WHAT

Of course this has to happen when I'm 360-less

I thought US version was coming out in 2008?

Title screen is pretty hot (well, basically just the PSP box art)

As did I but E4: Every Extend Extra Extreme really is on the big Xbox.com page thingy right now.

Will those Japanese Live games eventually come to the US Live or can you create a Japanese profile to get them? Or what?

Not really the best thread for it, but close enough.

I haven't been able to connect to Marketplace in weeks. WHat gives?

Go to your system blade/memory and delete the marketplace information file from the hard disk.

If I remember correctly, there's a level cap option in multiplayer.

Incidentily, that "Boogie Bunnies" game looks dreadful. It would be so much more interesting as just Blocks instead of this crap.

The article is for Japan, so I have no idea if it applies for the US too. But seeing how XBL works, any sort of repricing should be universal. Dunno about the freebies though.

I guess this would be the perfect time to ask; have they started region-locking XBLA games or something?

From what I gather, it used to be possible for aussies and people living in Japan to download games on a different account, then unlock it on their main account. I've never had to, but Tetris Splash wasn't released in Europe and when I try to unlock it now it won't let me. I get some numeric error when tring to pick "unlock full game," and I get the same for the japanese version of SOTN (you can have 200 in SOTN twice with that version :D), but not for random european games I downloaded to see if they'd work. What the hell. :(

Not so much. Aussies CAN download, say, Boom Boom Rocket or TMNT from a US account, but we can't unlock it on our own account. I'm betting those Aussies who have were unlocking it from some US or NZ bought points, unlocking it on the US account, and then playing it on the Australian account.

I don't know about that either! The only thing for certain is that everything i posted is happening on wednesday for Japan's marketplace.

Well, that sucks. No Tetris relaxation for me, I guess. How can there be licensing issues with bloody Tetris?!

Damn, I want E4. I dont think it'll be for the U.S. too since they kept saying 2008 for US. Anyone in Japan want to buy me a 800 point card or something? I'll give you 800 points in US points. If it's even possible to download in the US with a JPN account

What do you mean once people max out their character? You mean level 50 or buying stats in the temple? There's a cap on how many skill points you can buy in the temple, so you can't run around with some roided out e-character who's 999 in everything.

I thought SF2 HD was supposed to be out this fall. I'm feeling less and less likely that this will happen.

E4 Wed would be awesome, but i'm still playing Puzzle Quest and Eternal Sonata and have no time for it. Good god too many games. I was actually hoping that E4, Rez and Ikaruga were to be released next year over spring to spread shit out.

I wonder if they're offering the awesome old Heavenly Star skin again. Either way, insta-download in case they're pulled like the first Heavenly Star was.
