So...I'm a black belt grandmaster now. Bring on Empire! :D :D :D

E4 is waaay to easy
Yes. Unplayably so. Getting that 100x multiplier takes like for-fucking-ever and it's never ever ever ever ever challenging. So boring.

Not even the shooter mode is tough at all -- I made it to level 85 on my second go, and that's only because that one boss' attacks are fucking ridiculous and nigh undodgable. The dull part is that he only shows up at level 65, and every level before that is insanely easy so like the main mode you're just tired from boredom once you get there.

Well I just hit resistances in Puzzle Quest. I'm guessing this is when the addiction takes a huge hit.
Yeah, pretty much. Thankfully, the game ends soon after the resistances start to get really annoying. There should've been an item or spell to kill off or at least calm down the resistances, though.

I'd be fine if it were "block attack" resistance, but when it resists things that I'm doing to myself, it gets so annoying. I know its been stated before, but its retarded that a 15% resistance seems to work 75% of the time.

I'm starting to think I should get this game. I don't like puzzle games usually but this one intrigues me.

The demo is fantastic, you will know when you finish it if you want it or not but I'd say go for it man. Its awesome in a crash on the couch and sedated kind of way. ;)

It wouldn't be so much a problem but he takes forever to kill. Seriously the best way to take him out is when you die just make sure you're sitting on top of him when you respawn. All of your bullets will hit him at once and he'll go down quickly. Other than that R4 is easy and dull. I'll give it another go sometime though I'd only be doing it for the 100 stage achievement.

Really disappointed in E4 overall. I assumed that it'd be a straight port of E3 with maybe a few additions but instead apparently they took out the parts that make E3(and to a lesser extent E2) a great game and created a dumbed down experience instead of well...a game.

Congrats on the Black Belt Grandmaster achievement btw. I remember you've been working on that one for awhile.

Yeah, I'm going to get the demo tonight and sit back with a few beers and see if this game impresses me.

Your own link?

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, its overhead action/shooter based on the WizKids constructable strategy game, will be first out of the chute this holiday season, launching next month on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network for 800 Microsoft points or $9.99, respectively. Commando 3, which Capcom announced at the event and had available for play, will follow in December on both platforms, also priced at 800 points/$9.99.

Puzzle Quest is a great, addictive game, but if it's anything like the DS version, the computer starts cheating like a fuckface at a certain point and you're going to get very, very angry when it happens.

Well, I don't know how far I'm in the game but I definitely haven't seen the AI cheat (the developers on the official forums also claims the AI never cheats). I've seen some people claim the AI cheats because it sometimes gets seemingly impossible chains of 4-in-a-row's, but the thing is that the player has an equal chance of getting those as well.

Now that I've played Puzzle Quest a lot more, I don't think the AI cheats. But it is annoying to see it purposely act stupid by ignoring a good obvious move for some minor mana, but then what comes down leads to some awesome chain devestating your health :lol

And I really like being a wizard. Mixing Hand of Power with Fireball is just so good. 8 damage plus every skull in the 3x3 grid hits for 3 more (5 if you doubled up on HoP), 7-10 for 5+skulls. Plus I have the Dudog mace going which randomly increases the skull hit. In one hard hit I'm getting 30+ damage.

Yeah, I was given all those tips by a buddy of mine and I went on to not only beat the R4 mode today, I cleared up to level 90 without dying and if I hadn't messed up on 90 -- as I think it's actually an easy pattern to dodge -- I would've gotten the #1 spot on the leaderboards.

All on my fourth attempt, and I'm not even that fast of a learner. This game is just ridiculously easy. Glad I'm done with the full 200, as I probably won't touch it ever again.

Thanks a lot. That felt great. One of my biggest gaming accomplishments ever.

Speaking of E4, my buddy was just featured on Gamerscoreblog because he was the first to 200. Pretty cool.

But where was that feature when I was first to 200 in Space Giraffe? Bastards!

The fuck ever happened to the sequel to Mutant Storm?

It is reachign the final stages of development according to those who have seen it on the Partnernet.
Wow, that was prompt. Thanks. Good answer, too!

Ended up buying Puzzle Quest after trying the demo. I'm not usually into puzzle games as I've said previous but this one seems really cool. I think it's because it's not just a pure puzzle game. You go around questing and building up stats as well. I have a friend who's really into puzzle games (he's a god at Tetris) and he found Puzzle Quest boring after a while. I think if you're looking for a fast paced puzzle game, this isn't it. Which suits me just fine.

God I suck at it though. There's just something about puzzle games that doesn't agree with how my brain works. There are even times where that little helper arrow pops up pointing at a jewel that can be moved, and I sit there for a minute or so trying to work out what it's going to match up with... Christ.

Commando 3 is looking pretty good. It seems to have both Grenades and Megaton, depending on what they've picked up at the time.

Still not a fan of the incredibly cartoony style of the characters. I hope I can turn off the little animation they do when throw out a Megaton. Plus the gigantic rotating weapon pickup look distracting and.. well.. cheap.

Flame throwers. spread guns and upgradable rifles are back, hooray! The game seems to have some sort of Multiplier system installed as well, so there can be some nice Leaderboard support!

I do wonder why they didn't go all out and have a 4 player Coop experience. I'd imagine the 3 is because MERCS was also only 3, but now that they have the internet 4 player would have been feasable.

I topped up my MS points the other day with a 2100 pack, planned to spend half of it on arcade games but going over the list i'm not wanting any, must be a non launch day thing :lol

but I definitely haven't seen the AI cheat

well, i can tell you it does - and here`s what i think it does : it can see the gems that are about to drop.

Proof? There will be some obvious 3 skull takes just waiting to be done, but instead of taking those, it takes an innouculous looking 3 chain of blues at the top of the screen that -amazingly- triggers a 4 in a row and THEN it takes the 3 skulls (and no, in a lot of cases it`s not because their magic is based around blues and it was just fluke!)

It just makes too many moves that make no sense given what you can see on the board that always work out. It`s true it`s not "cheating" per se, but it can simply see what you can`t.

and resistances are infuriating. All that said , this is my second play through of the game aafter the PSP version and i`m still coming back for more! :D

where the fuck is sensible soccer. dammit.

Cancelled and being ported to Wii as a retail game with waggle. You can now point at where you'd like the ball to go and shaking the Nunchuck makes your player perform the distracting Jungle-dance move.

Battlestar Galactica I think is going to make people cry. :( I'm hearing it's bad enough that it might have killed some people's moms. I'll try the demo though and see.

It's been several weeks since some really good releases (Puzzle Quest and Super Puzzle Fighter come to mind).

I just picked up Lumines now that it's 800 pts, glad I held out. Is the bonus pack worth picking up? I'm only interested in the single player challange mode - do you get many new tracks?

Puzzle QUest was a mere two weeks ago and last week was not too bad either.

I thought it was Battlestar = good, Wing Commander = bad? You might be getting those mixed up?

As far as SWOS, they may as well hold off for a little while now that PES has released. Not that they're exclusive of each other, but I know PES is going to be taking up all of my football-gaming time for at least the next month. I was hoping that I'd have SWOS to tide me over pre-release, but it looks like they missed that.

The packs are great. If you enjoy Challenge mode like me--just for the experience of blasting through the mode for an hour of relaxation and taking in the levels--then the packs are perfect. I'd say the Holiday Pack (20 skins) is the best, the Advance Pack (22) second, and the Tokyo Pack (4?) third. The Holiday Pack in particular I've already played through a couple of times.

That sketch level in the Holiday Pack is just gorgeous.

I'm excited for this I've heard great things.

Lumines is so awesome.

I've just dived back into thanks to E4's pleasing refresher course into Q?'s awesomeness. I'm trying to put together the perfect "Set List" to get that One Lap, 250k achievement.

Any suggestions anyone?
