Does anyone know the date that King of Fighters '98 is supposed to hit XBLA?

I take it there's no way the GameFAQs release date for the game coming out this week is correct. ;_;

Just want this and Outrun...

Rez also happens to be a very dull on-rails shooter.

I'd personally recommend Bionic Commando: Rearmed or Death Tank. BC:R is a ton of fun and extremely cheap considering how much content you get. Death Tank is extremely fun to play local or online multiplayer, but it's a bit overpriced. But well, you should get it anyway since the game needs more people playing it online :P

REZ gets way too much credit for what it is. I can't see the fun of it, if it wasn't for Lost Cities I'd say it were the worst 800 points spent. And I bought Bejeweled 2!

Stick of Joy Preview: Wallace and Gromit's Big Adventure

http://www.*******.com/2009/03/02/*******-impressions-wallace-and-grommits-grand-adventures/

We were treated -- that's the appropriate word -- to a brief sneak peek at Telltale Games' upcoming episodic adventure series, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, this past weekend at San Francisco's Wonder-Con. Although early, the taste of things to come was promising enough to get us as excited as Wallace on a trip to the cheese shop.

This demo alone convinced us that Telltale has a firm grasp on the unique humor of the classic Aardman Animation shorts -- and also their charming visual style. It's one thing to create controllable dogs and rabbits or citizens of Strongbadia, but something entirely different to capture the essence of real plasticine figures ... in motion, no less.

We were struck by the authenticity of the character models (you can even see fingerprints on them, as with their real stop-motion counterparts); their animations; and the 3D environments themselves. The same went for the puzzle-based gameplay.

What we saw looked to be very familiar stuff for anyone who's played one of Telltale's point-and-click adventures, but the inherent abundance of Wallace's Rube Goldberg style devices from the shorts -- being brought into the game -- created a unique situation of puzzles within puzzles. The particular situations we were shown had Gromit (who doesn't talk, though his expressions speak volumes) repairing an egg-breaking contraption in order to prepare his master's breakfast; trading off control, Wallace had to figure out exactly what was wrong with his honey making "machine."

Alas, just as we were to learn how the duo's new business venture, the From Bee to You home honey delivery service, was going to fulfil a 50-gallon order overnight, the demo came to a close. Still, If the gameplay of the four planned episodes -- each pegged at roughly 4-5 hours in length -- can hold up to the impressive presentation, 360 and PC owners have some truly grand adventures to look forward to.

EA Sports announced today that it is bringing a downloadable flavor of NCAA 09 with NCAA 09: March Madness Edition, available for purchase on March 11 for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). The March Madness Edition of NCAA 09 is exclusive to Xbox 360.

It's pretty simple. Just form a rectangle where all of the corners are all like-colored blocks.

You can already play the game for free >here, which is part of the reason I'm not terribly excited to have the opportunity to pay for it.

Really can't see it :/

I know that 98 UM is released this week on PS2, but I highly doubt it's going to hit XBLA. But...we could be surprised. I'd like some time to be put into the netcode though.

Are there any details known about Defense Grid: The Awakening? Date (lulz), price, features, etc? I've been eyeing it on Steam, and it's 25% off now, but I'd prefer the 'XBLA big comfy couch experience.'

It is definitely art, but I never found it "fun". I appreciate it for what it's doing but it never clicks for me.

Sumo Digital LTD have a final finished version of Out Run Arcade Online for both Xbox 360 and PS3. However Due to things out of Sumo Digital's control the game will be pushed back until July at the earliest. Its rumored to be to come inline with the US release on the PSN version , however other sources tell us it's a Sega problem? We know as much as you on this one.

Darren

Dunno if it's legit.

Answer this someone. I have been eyeing it on Steam too, but I would like couch time as well.

Naw, it takes them forever to release these games. IIRC Fatal Fury Special was supposed to be one of the first XBLA games released, and came out what, two-plus years later? :lol

Even '98 Ultimate, which doesn't have much to localize, took too long to come out. It hit arcades in April 2008, PS2 in June 2008, and finally came to the States now. And like I said in the KOF XII thread, KOF 2002 Unlimited Match came out in Japan last week.

I hope KOF '98 UM XBLA isn't another Maximum Impact Xbox 360.

The release schedules on the DL services really seem weird. We've been over this a million times, but why can't they announce better schedules and what's the business sense (other than meeting some arbitrary internal earnings goals for certain quarter) in holding back a XBLA/PSN product with infinite shelf life?

I have been informed that this is "not-legit".

uf! thanks a lot! For a moment I was thinking Sega was holding the game until the PSN version passes the crappy Sony certification.

Wasn't it not supposed to come to PSN in USA? (I thought it was Europe only there).

Not sure about the US PSN release, I haven't heard anything to the contrary regarding it's lack of release.

If PSN cards were available here I would be more than willing to help people out in that regard, but alas :(

Well that message is now been deleted from Xbox.com forums, so it should be on its way then?

In other news, where the FUCK is Watchmen?

The link is up but the content isn't available. Seems to be a problem with XBL because the newest community game is the same way.

I am trying to download the Watchmen demo, but there seems to be a problem: using the console the page takes eons to load and then there is a message saying that there was a problem and the content cannot be found. Using the webpage it displays content not found.

Just got info that Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures - Episode 1: Fright of the Bumblebess reviewable code will be made available on PC early next week. This hints at the game getting released this month - hopefully on XBLA to if releases are simultaneous.

It's $20 effing dollars? There is absolutely no way... Not on God's green Earth would I ever think of spending that much on a downloadable movie tie-in game unless it was stunningly well done. And I have every single XBLA game to date. This is definitely the first one I'm not picking up, what a ridiculous price gouge. I hope it sells like crap so I can buy it at a lower price and have a complete collection still but I guess this is as good a time as any to break the streak. See you later Watchmen.

I'm sure you've spent well over $20 on absolute garbage if you have every XBLA game, why stop now?

You're probably right... you're tempting me to pull the trigger but I think I'll stand on principle on this one. Why stop now? Why not?

Ura's EDIT: Maybe I should buy it... Damn it, Coin Return, you've dissolved my resolve! (Pretty tough thing to do, eh?)

wow, you are insane. there is so much utter shit that comes out on xbla the fact that you buy every game and play through them enough to get at least a few achievements is a testament to the power of human endurance.

Well, actually I haven't played some of them. Probably close to 20. I know, I know, it's really really stupid to buy them all. A fool and his money... and all that jazz.

Family Game Night Achievements Explained
Written Wednesday, March 04, 2009 by James Parkin

On Monday we relased the achievemnts for Family Game Night by EA, but some people were a little confused as there were seven different titles for 1400 gamerpoints. A bit odd as seeing no games release with 1400 points.

We contacted EA and received the following information.
The Hasbro Family Game Night destination on Xbox LIVE Arcade will house a collection of 7 different arcade games, each with 200 gamerscore points. There are 10 achievements and 200 gamerscore points per game for a total of 1400 gamerscore points and 70 Achievements across all 7 games.

In mid-March EA is launching four of the seven announced titles: SCRABBLE (North America only), BATTLESHIP, CONNECT FOUR and YAHTZEE. BOGGLE, SORRY! and SORRY! Sliders will be releasing the coming months. The games will be sold individually for 800 Microsoft points.

So hopefully that clears the air a little.
