Wasn't that just a rumor?

I would hate for a limit to be forced upon upcoming developers and drive them away from the system. And also, XBLA's Summer/Spring do a shitload more damage than good to the service. Forcing some weeks to get 3 releases to make up for the 1 a week for 6 weeks >_>.

Indie XBLA developers I work with are getting the cold shoulder. MS wants big publishers and big budgets, now that they don't have a pressing need for content. Should be good in the sense that you'll see big budget fare like BF1943.

I have just FINALLY completed N+ single player ^_^ Taken me ages but it was totally worth it, the last level was very clever.

One of my favourite 360 games full stop, so good and addictive! I own all the DLC, will go through that soon...

The multiplayer is what makes it one of my favorite games ever. Amazing game.

I never played N+'s multiplayer. What exactly do you do?

The co-op is very similar to single player. The difference being that you need your partner to open doors for you and vice versa. Very fun. I've only played with one other person though.

That's partly why MS created XNA Community Games, but I don't think it is performing as well as indies would like. They really need a way to push the quality XNA content to the top of the pile.

Slightly off-topic, has anyone else noticed that the icons showing your achievements for recently purchased arcade games not showing up? Both Battlefield and Monkey Island are like this for me. I can see them fine in my profile tab(the second tab in "My Xbox", but nothing in the game's page or the listing of the arcade games. So, anyone else experiencing this?

Above all, it's not launched world wide. That makes me mad. I've made the music to three games thus far on CG and I can't even play them D:<

Really, some additional marketing and worldwide launch and things would look MUCH better.

Maybe if Community Games was allowed to reach a broader audience (like Australia for example) then they'd make some more revenue out of it.

Here's a screen from the new Behemoth game

The trailer is said to come out on March 18th.

Has there been any more information leaked about Game #3 from The Behemoth? other than what is mentioned on their Game #3 devblog? http://devblog.thebehemoth.com/?cat=70p

The video has my interest truely piqued, it seems a cross between the New SMB (wii) game, Small Arms (XBLA)/Rocket Riot (XBLA) and SSBB(N).

I have a question about the N+ co-op achievement, I've done about 20 co-op levels through xbox live and did not get either of the co-op achievements I was just wondering if it had to be local co-op or if there was something else I was doing wrong. Thanks

I think that both XBLA and XBL Indy Games need their own tab in the Dashboard and not be a part of the Game Marketplace. Well, that doesn't mean the sub-tabs within Game Marketplace for both of those should be gone because people will mistake XBLA or Indy Games being in the Game Marketplace tab and go "oops, meant to go to XBLA", but they'll have that sub-tab right there for them instead of having to hit B multiple times to get to the Dashboard.

I dont agree. What they need is more features and exposure in the Spotlight section. And those spotlight features should be "teaching moments" about their location ("Find Indy Games in your Games Marketplace tab" or somesuch).

Its very clean and logically constructed, everything is "quick to find"; but like all things, not everyone is 100% aware of what is available.

So a friend of mine purchased Monkey Island without having played the original, and he was very "meh".

I was wary of this. I always thought that the rabid Monkey Island fanbase were just a little too gushing with their praise of the games. Not sure if they'll hold up these days. Still, I'll give it a shot.

Just speaking for myself here, but I played it for the first time earlier this year and loved it. It was actually the first Lucasarts adventure game I'd finished :lol I enjoy the occasional adventure game, though, so if adventure games aren't your friend's thing than there may not be much hope.

I'm about an hour in and I'm having a distinctly "meh" sort of response to it too. I grew up playing King's Quest (From one to five, one was the first PC game my dad brought home at a time when I could barely spell). I loved most of the old Sierra adventure games in that vein. I also got into the old Indy point and click adventure games, so I really thought I was going to love Monkey Island. I'm not totally writing it off yet, I'm going to keep on trucking, but I really wish I had bought this on PC and I hate playing games on my PC. It just seems that the game would work a lot better with a mouse (I know, no shit sherlock).

I'm not a huge fan of the voice acting or the main character design either. There's something about both that rub me the wrong way. This type of game is just so slow paced, especially when you don't have direct control over the character. I think that made King's Quest a little more fun.

I can understand that, it's not a game for everyone.

Myself I am a big fan of the Monkey Island Games but never played the first one until it came out on the 360 but it's a great game so far.

Adventure games are slow-paced, thoughtful affairs that force you to become intimately familiar with characters and surroundings.

I for one think it's one of the greatest genres ever created, and at the very least, the XBLA is better for having them reimagined or updated.

Curse of Monkey Island still holds up very well.

I'll probably be getting monkey island and splosion man. Not a whole lot of games have been getting me interested these last few months so I've been relying on xbla/iPhone to keep me occupied.

Battlefield is like that for me too. I'm not sure what's causing it. I was considering deleting and downloading the game again but I'm worried it would mess up some data or something, and honestly it's not that big of a deal.

Alien Breed Evolution to debut on XBLA because of faith shown by Microsoft

“I think XBLA still leads PS3 in terms of user base and probably the amount of people buying the thing,” he told us when we asked why Team 17 chose 360 as the lead platform for release.

“Plus we have a relationship with Microsoft that’s pretty close - a first party publishing relationship,” he said.

“They showed a lot of faith in us early doors and that’s kind of kept going really. I think they’ve got the same kind of games on there: it’s the same kind of audience really.

“I’m not suggesting the PS3 is any less than that, but we just feel that’s the market for the game.

“It will come to PS3 and it will come to PC as well, but intially it’ll be Live Arcade,” concluded Brown.

Braid Creator Jonathan Blow Working on "3D Puzzle" Game

http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_7082/Braid_Creator_Jonathan_Blow_Working_on_3D_Puzzle_Game

Jonathan Blow, designer of acclaimed Xbox LIVE Arcade puzzle-platformer Braid, has revealed through job postings that he's entering development of a new 3D "puzzle-exploration game." Blow describes the project as "a puzzle-exploration game that is philosophical, and quiet, and is being made for reasons other than crass profit motive." Bless his socks.

Donkey Kong and Super Mario reworked in Braid to twist your melon. While there are few details on what the new game will be, Blow's job posting for a 3D environment concept artist gives a fair indication of what won't be involved:

Work with a small team on a puzzle-exploration game that is philosophical, and quiet, and is being made for reasons other than crass profit motive. Because the team is small, your work will be a large influence on the look of the final game. The team is run by the designer/programmer of the critically-acclaimed game Braid; the team is fully-funded and pay is high.

The majority of [your] portfolio should consist of things absent from the following list: Girls With Big Tits; Barbarians Wielding Axes, Covered in Blood; Aliens; Space Ships; Gangsters Getting Shot in the Face; Orcs; Giant Robots; and, of course, Postapocalyptic Wastelands.
