See I think Lumines Live could be worth the money, but I also don't want to encourage other companies charging 1200 points for games.
Of the only review, it's got 85% on gamerankings. It'll be worth it for certain--but do you mind spending $25 to have it?

I'll have to try a demo because everything I've seen of the game looks pretty boring actually. Maybe it's just a game that you need to play for it to actually make sense.

Very little detail but it sure does give some details about which games to expect next.

n a marketing email today, the company unveiled at least six games that will definitely hit XBLA by early 2007. Those games are Lumines Live (which hits XBLA Wednesday morning at 1 am), Contra, Gyruss, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mutant Storm Empire, Small Arms, and several others (that it didn't reveal).

I really hope that Contra has native support for widescreen. I don't mind getting game in original format but it looks shit when I stretch it on my widescreen monitor with bigger resolution.

Widescreen might not be good for vertical scrolling game but Contral is side scrolling game so there shouldn't be any problem with that. Online co-op mode will be kick-ass in contra if it is not buggy like SFII.

I played it at TGS. It doesn't.

Mutant Storm Empire wasn't at E3 so I'm interested in how it plays... hopefully it will have better achievements than the first one did. I guess there's not much you can do with a Robotron clone.

So I was playing Mutant Storm earlier and I was doing F'in phenomenal. I got like 5 belts, x9 multiplier and was far into the 80's without a single death. I was thinking: "Jesus, No one on the leaderboard will be touching this score for years."

I get to the last few rooms and after some intense shooting, my thumb slips and I accidently hit the X button. Suddenly all the enemies die, and the level instantly ends, transporting me to the next. Curiously I press the button again, and *woosh*off to the next room. Then comes another hee-larious revelation: I realize, that after 85 levels of seemingly mindsplitting, heart-attack-inducing madness, some kind of debug/Godmode has been activated and I can't be harmed whatsoever. :lol

Shame on me for thinking I was actually any good at that game. I only wish it would have registered all the achievements I 'unlocked'.

You wouldn't have owned anybody even if it wasn't set on god mode, since you were playing on the first belt (obviously, since you unlocked achievements). Come back when you've repeated the same feat on black belt from level 1. :D

Yes, it was. There were a bunch of machines set up with various indie games - Mutant Storm Empires, Small Arms, Roboblitz, Heavy Weapon, and I think one other.

OH MAYBE IN THE SUPER SECLUDED SECRET INSIDER AREA

It certainly wasn't available to choose from at the Hollywood Social party, that's the only time I got hands-on with Arcade.

I remember seeing footage of Mutant Storm Empire from the show floor, that's what sold me on the game.
I played it at the SUPER WHATEVER PARTY. You're right to be sold on it. Mutant Storm + Smash TV = lots of crazy fun. I remember stopping playing so I'd have time to play SF2, and wish I had stuck with MSE. :)

I can't believe it has taken them this long to make a chess game... Now it just needs to get here...

Yesssssssssss

Playing horrible and glitchy E3 build of Splinter Cell was hysterical.

That was probably the retail game, since it is just as bad. What a horrible game.

It's Contra this week yes. I've played it a bit on partner.net and it's a 100% port of the arcade, no graphical update at all.
There are quite a bit of new XBLA title playable on partner.net, Small Arms looks like a lot of fun, Roboblitz I'm not too sure what to think, and Novadrome's current version is just bad.
Sorry I can't show the games without MS or the devs authorization.

*sigh* Another game I'm just not interested in. I already have Contra on the NES. I want something new. Please say that it is only 400 points? After scoring 3 1600 point cards at half price, I might get it for a $2.50 investment anyway.

I'm pretty sure Contra is 400 points. There are some original games coming out, all due by end of year: Small Arms, Assault Heroes, and Heavy Weapon.

Oh, and the Contra coming out on Live is the arcade version, so it's not quite the same as the NES version.

duckroll said:
Actually Contra arcade is pretty different from the NES game. For starters, it's also much worse. :lol

Yeah, I know...haha. That's an even bigger problem! It would be one thing if the arcade was a better version of Contra, but no, it isn't.

What time do these things hit anyway? 3am EST? 4? I can't remember.
