I WANT SPACE GIRAFFE!

Me too. Well, I'm not sure if I want the full version but I want to try it out.

Next definite game for me Every Extend Extra Extreme. But I have way too many damn points to just only be looking forward to E4.

Tempest is all I saw. **** all awesome. Hope it has options for all the different versions.

It's nothing to do with Minter, so it probably won't have T2000 or T3000. Should look great in HD (as long as it's not another half-arsed Digital Eclipse job).

Just downloaded the free Worms content. Sound bank was nice to have, patch was needed, and the free space map looks good. Though, asking 150 points for each new board is crazy. Both of those should be bundled for 150 points, max.

Also, would it kill them to make each board have it own musical theme? The one song is getting on my nerves. Seems pretty lazy only having one music track...

The Atari classics are some of the few that Digital Eclipse is NOT in charge of bringing to the XBLA. Unfortunately the dev that is working on all of the Atari Classic games is Stainless Games, whom have proven to be just as mediocre, maybe even more so since Digital Eclipse.Backbone does have a few good ports(Castlevania, TMNT) on the service.

EDIT: Nevermind, Digital Eclipse is now back on par with Stainless Games since Foundation 9 seems fit to spin off the good part of Bakcground into its own entity.

Right, I got a couple of updates for y'all. First up, Hudson has up their Bomberman LIVE page which seems to be offering weekly information updates until I assume it is released. FOr this week's update is called Levels and Gimmicks.

Also, the massive, massive preview for Band of Bugs by one Lunar Duality draws to a close with a beck and call from the readers for a Question and Answer session, within limits of NDA of course.

What are other peoples opinions of Mad Tracks?

I think its got some fun gimmicky little things going for it but the racing is just not fun at all. The sense of speed doesnt exist at all. I was expecting this to be one of those games where your kind of in a controller crash the whole time - racing around the tracks, barely hangin on...

Guess I should have checked it out proper before I blended my points.

I think it's great they released Mad Tracks, it looks pretty good for an XBLA game, but I'm damn happy with myself that I tried the demo, because I thought it was pretty lame.

Could've been like an updated Re-volt, but I guess not.

I hate the compressing spring mechanic, where your car goes really slow if you hold accelerate for two long. I spend more time looking at that bar than on the road.

IGN XBOX 360 has a new hands-on preview of Sensible World of Soccer, a title that everybody seems to have forgotten about.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/793/793098p1.html

Highlights:

We're all fans of the original Amiga game at IGN, so when we took to the field with the most recent build of Sensible Soccer World of Soccer we were happy to see not much has changed since the original games was released. While football videogame development has progressed in leaps and bounds in the last decade or so, Codemasters has rather, ahem, sensibly ensured the gameplay in this XBLA version of the series is exactly the same as it was in the '90s. Seriously, it was like we'd travelled back in time.

In fact it's refreshing to see Codemasters hasn't tried to reinvent the Sensi formula for its Xbox Live Arcade debut. To play the game you use only the D-pad or analogue stick to control your player and the A button to pass, shoot and tackle. Despite the stripped down control system, however, Sensi is still tactically rather deep. Anyone can pick up the pad and start shooting for goal but only those who put the time in to master the controls will be able to whip balls across the penalty box, pull of a diving header or execute defence-splitting runs.

In addition, Sensi on XBLA includes the team management features that played such a big in the classic Amiga and PC versions. Players can therefore create their own custom teams, change the names of players and create and save favourite team formations, which means you can set up a team prior to kick off quickly and easily, without wading through a load of menu screens.

That pretty much sums up Sensi on XBLA. Nothing much has changed over the past decade or so, but that's why we're excited about SWOS. From the matches we've played the gameplay is still as tight and fun as it was in the '90s, meaning it's just as enjoyable as it was back then. It may not compare to FIFA or Pro Evo in terms of presentation, but for a simple kickabout they don't come much better than this. We'll bring you a proper review before Sensi kicks off on Xbox Live Arcade in July.

It's best to forget about Xbox Live Arcade games because they take so long to be released. SWOS was first announced at the end of June 2006 and first screens were shown in September.

I'm expecting Prince of Persia Classic in 2009.

No, no, I think Prince of Persia Classic here is coming out soon, it has been very active media wise.

Now sensible soccer is a retro game I can get behind! Awesome as hell! Now just give me baseball stars 2 and I'm set forever on retro sports games.

Looks like Carcassonne is this weeks XBLA title. This was from the Xbox Live newsletter email thing I got today. It lists the game as "out now":

Played about 3 hours of Mad Tracks last night. There are some really fun games packed away in this game, but good god they really need to fix the lobby.

Basically as soon as the last person crosses the finish line, the game drops - making it impossible for rematches or even say a word to the other players. It's a horrible oversight.

So, um, arne can't cut my face if someone else blew the lid, can he?

This is the game I was talking about. Omega Five by Natsume.

By the way, the girl character's name is "boobie." And I'm not even kidding.

I'm not french! I didn't write that! Don't kill meeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh, and Bomberman Live is totally awesome. In case anybody was worried, you can stop now. It's as faithful to the original games (my colleague even said it used remixes of old Bomberman songs, but I can't confirm that) as it is jam-packed with stuff. We had tons of fun with it at the office, especially the free-for-all map that's just a square of blocks around a huge square of pre-placed powerups. The first two players in are going to blow the shit out of everybody else, it's like a race but in Bomberman! :D

Omega Five does not look mindblowing. Maybe because I don't speak videogame in french and therefore can't understand what the **** is going on.

I saw a Bomberman Live ad in the new EGM. I think it's the first XBLA game to have a magazine ad

Omega Five looks cool. Any shooter is more than welcome

I'm pretty sure the pictures aren't in french.

And if you don't find an original XBLA title modeled after Forgotten Worlds and filled with pretty graphics and more action than most retail games exciting, I'm not even sure what you're doing in the XBLA thread. This stuff is what I signed up for, anyway.

Omega Five looks pretty cool, but I weep that it's horizontal. Where are my vertically scrolling shooters, Arne? Why have the shooter gods forsaken us? ...and don't tell me Ikaruga... I want a game that will actually come out (preferably that hasn't been released on two other platforms already).

Hey, anyone who has played Bomberman, when you die, do you turn into a ghost who can roam one side of the screen throwing bombs at the players still alive below you?

I've never played forgotten worlds. I just can't tell whats actually going on in the pictures. I was unaware it was even a shooter until Wario mentioned it.

Bullet Hell shooter? If so obviously with this much graphically going on its damn near impossible to even figure out what your ship is.

I'd just like to know whats going on so I can be hyped for it.

Omega Five looks really impressive. Hopefully it arrives sometime this year.

The character designs are rather bizarre. Old Samurai man, lady in pink stockings, and a four armed cyborg dude.
