It wont happen due to M$ idea with retail 360 games,

1 big game per month,

You will only ever see one big XBLA with a more poopy one imo

I don't think they would release two A+ XBLA games in the same month. Unless they were trying to push them all out during the summer so they wouldn't get overshadowed in the fall.

I assume you missed both March and June then.

A tad late (am on vacation), but here's the latest XBLA list from Major Nelson:

Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions)

1 - Bomberman LIVE
2 - Sonic The Hedgehog
3 - Golden Axe
4 - Texas Hold 'em
5 - Yie Ar Kung-Fu
6 2 UNO
7 5 Worms
8 - Double Dragon
9 - TMNT 1989 Arcade
10 3 Carcassonne

XBLA Titles on the Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)

7 - Bomberman LIVE
9 - Sonic The Hedgehog (Arcade)

There were no lists last week (because of E3), so comparisons are against the lists from two weeks ago. Also, no lists from Major Nelson next week due to Comic-Con.

I told you all that Puzzle Fighter looked doubtful, looks like it is sometime in August now.

XBLA This Week - Wing Commander Arena and Super Contra

Wing Commander Arena will cost 800 points and includes features such as:

* The first Xbox LIVE Arcade title featuring multiplayer gameplay for up to 16 players over Xbox LIVE
* Four gameplay modes: Single Player, Multiplayer Team, Free for All, and Duel
* Players can choose from 18 different ships that can be customized with cloaking devices, mines, energy weapons, missiles and more!
* Skill-based matchmaking for ranked games
* Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore

Super Contra will cost 400 points and includes features such as:

* Two gameplay modes: single player or two player co-op, either locally on the same Xbox 360 or over Xbox LIVE
* Players can choose to play with either the original graphics or the enhanced graphics
* Compete for the weekly and all time high scores on the Leaderboards
* Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore

Enjoy.

Yep, ack. It's probably for the better as I just started playing the wonderful Bomberman and have barely touched Carcassonne since I bought it. No doubt when Puzzle Fighter comes out, it'll be the only Live/PSN/VC game I'll play for weeks.

Aku Jiki will not stop talking about the shittiness of Wing Commander Arena.
:lol

I guess I'm guilty as charged. I ****ing hate it. Other people should, of course, grab the demo and make up their own minds though.

No, don't. It sucks.

:lol WORSE THAN NOVADROME?!

On a side note I got a million in Marsho Madness a while ago, it was awesome.

Nice! I had to check if I should welcome you to the exclusive 200 club and, yeah, it still is pretty exclusive. Only 26 of us so far.

So Wing Commander is supposed to blow, right?

It looks awful. I find it funny that Fallout 3 fanboys are complaing about their franchise getting 'raped'(even though the game looks good) but WC fans are willing to swallow anything EA throws at them.

I'd love to see what similar work EA would do with the Ultima license on XBLA. Ultima GeoWars clone? Too bad they sold the Wasteland license, would have loved to see Wasteland solitaire. Must you destroy all our PC Golden Age memories, EA? (ok, that was already done a long time ago).

Latest Space Giraffe developments from Jeff Minter's blog.

Sooo...
...managed to get myself far too emotionally involved with the protracted nature of the release process, went through a week of starting to get real anxiety issues whenever I even so much as thought about SG.

Recognised that as neither optimal nor comfortable. Made a conscious effort to back off from it for a week and I feel much better now. No slowdown to the actual process since what is left to do now really isn't very much at all, and Giles handled such small issues as there were like the pro he is, leaving me the space I needed to decompress.

We will know better next time what to expect. It's not that there's any deliberate intent to make the process unduly stressful, it's just that it is semi-infinitely more complex than it used to be. Still, now we know, and we'll know what to expect next time and be a lot more prepared too, so it won't be as bad.

We're in final-final now. Really bugger all left to do, and any further small delays are simply due to sequencing. I think we have a good idea of an actual release date but I can't say just yet. But it isn't far away.

It'd be nice to have some decent weather, mind. Now with us being in the endprocess there is the possibility to actually have some time away from the computers and out in the field with the sheep, and it's done not much apart from chuck it down in varying degrees since the end of April. Bit of sun on my face and lack of necessity of being on call to fix bugs would do my body, mind and soul a huge amount of good.

I desire certification and sun and then release }:-).

Alien Hominid HD is finally getting patched. Now it will be possible to get all 200 gamerpoints this Wed.

Well it took quite some time, but it looks like we are scheduled for a release on the 25th of this month for the title update, YAY! Now I'm not entirely sure this is 100% solid locked in yet, but all signs are pointing to a yes. Since you guys have been our biggest supporters since launch, we wanted to share this information with you a little early.

Here are some of the items that have been resolved:

Title Update Features:

- Various missing sounds have been found and replaced.

- Main game and Mini-game unlocks are now fully functional!

- Mad Hatter Achievement is now attainable!

- Increased reliability in networked matchmaking for PDA Games and All You Can Eat

- Various other gameplay issues resolved.

I know it's been a long time coming, but thanks for everyones patience and support. In addition to the title update we have some great stuff coming down the pipe on that day, and as we get closer to the release I will let you guys in on some more info.

Thanks!

Stop expecting stuff and you won't be sad. Assume every XBLA game you heard of is coming in 2008 and smile when it comes out. Its the only way to keep happy when Wednesday comes around.

The worst is Castle Crashers, been a late 2007/2008 date from near the beginning and people still "what no CC?!?"

GEON e Switchball one after the other? Aren´t they very similar in nature (puzzle)?

Puzzle Fighter is obvious wrong too, Sept 13 is a Thursday (let's hope we get it on Sept 12)

Umm. I have a random question...

Why hasn't Grand Theft Auto 1 or 2 come to XBL? I mean c'mon... classic gameplay, and easily multiplayer. I know they were busy and all, but c'mon now, a HD remix of this would hit the spot anytime.

Well if you look at the past release list over the last month, we've been getting two of something every week - either two XBLA games, or one XBLA game and an update:

April 18, 2007
3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures
Gyruss

April 25, 2007
Eets: Chowdown
Pinball FX
Alien Hominid HD - PDA Euro pack

May 2, 2007
Catan
Centipede/Millipede

May 9, 2007
Double Dragon

May 16, 2007
Soltrio Solitaire
Aegis Wing

May 23, 2007
Xevious
Rush'n Attack
Alien Hominid HD - PDA Classic pack 1

May 30, 2007
Mad Tracks
Worms - Space, Hell & Jungle landscapes & soundbank pack 1

June 6, 2007
Pac-Man Championship Edition
Small Arms - Ivar & Gullarp pack

June 13, 2007
Prince of Persia Classic
Catan - Generals expansion pack 1
Soltrio Solitaire - game pack 1

June 20, 2007
Band of Bugs
Alien Hominid HD - PDA Classic pack 2

June 27, 2007
Carcassonne
Lumines Live! - Tokyo Club Mix & Booster packs
Mad Tracks - Encore expansion pack
Soltrio Solitaire - game pack 2

July 4, 2007
Missile Command
Worms - Desert & Manhattan retro landscapes & soundbank pack 2

July 11, 2007
Golden Axe
Sonic the Hedgehog
Soltrio Solitaire - game pack 3

July 18, 2007
Bomberman LIVE
Yie Ar Kung Fu

July 25, 2007
Wing Commander Arena
Super Contra

So for all we know, you could get one new and one classic per week, as they seem to want to do.

Well, that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Monday thing of importance has been revealed and it is achievements, Capcom wants YOUR help in picking out the achievements for this game, details found through the link above.

Now that's pretty cool - I gotta say I love the way they are sharing this game with the community like this... a shame how the bitching about the sprites ruined the updates though...

Maybe it's possible now that Greg "XBLA is not a place for your old-ass PS One games" Canessa is out of the picture.

Does anybody mind if I freak out?

OMFG MUTANT STORM EMPIRE OMFG OMFG OMFG SO AWESOME OMFG AHHHHHHHHHH WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Seriously, though. It's so ****ing good. Expands and improves on the original in every way.

need SPEED BALLL 2!!!!
Yeah...I don't think you should be very excited for that one.

Honestly if I had to choose between an updated Geometry Wars ala Geometry Wars Galaxy or Mutant Storm Empire, I'd pick Mutant Storm Empire almost every time. MSE always seemed a lot more interesting.

I still think Switchball will be the XBLA game to beat though.

Yeah, Mutant Storm is one of my favorites and I've been sort of following Pom Pom's games (all two of them!)

They should really bring Space Tripper to the marketplace, it's this really fun homage to Defender.
