I play it with the wife and kids once in awhile and it's a good time. Other than that it's pretty lame.radjago said:Is 3D Ultra Minigolf really any good? I got the impression from the demo it was pretty lame.
How does that matter at all?Wario64 said:They did the same thing for the PSP versions
It's really lame. It'll be kind of fun for one or two trips around the courses, but all of them have these extremely easy to find and use shortcuts that lead to an instant hole-in-one. When everybody you play with has figured these out, the game just dies. And if only some of your buddies/family/whatever have figured them out while others have not, it'll be beyond frustrating for everybody who hasn't. Very stupid design choice.radjago said:Is 3D Ultra Minigolf really any good? I got the impression from the demo it was pretty lame.
I decided to put off buying the game until they gave the levels that were supposed to be in there in the first place, so now I'll give the game a second look.doogles said:Guys, there are like fifty levels for EXIT available for free.
everybody who does not already have it go buy this game now

My older daughter and my wife play it now and then, as do I. It's pretty simple, but we've had a good time with it. And even bought the expansion pack, which has some great, challenging holes in it. Most of the hole in one shots are kind of tricky.aku:jiki said:It's really lame. Boom Boom Rocket update live, joined by five free tunes

Revealed earlier this month, a title update to Xbox Live Arcade's rhythmic detonator Boom Boom Rocket is now available, bringing with it some bug fixes, added peripheral support and, most importantly, bigger and better 'splosions. In addition to supporting dance mats and fake guitars, we've found that the game also works with Rock Band's drum set, yielding an activity both challenging and utterly embarrassing.
Arriving in tandem with the update is the game's long awaited downloadable content, announced by EA to be a set of five new songs:
* "Eine Kleine Rochtmusik"
* "Cannon in D"
* "Sugar High"
* "Sting of the Bumble Bee"
* "Explode to Joy"
Yes, it seems someone's gone and shoved five more classical tunes through some sort of Eurotrash bastardization device, but we managed to enjoy the game despite that last time. Oh, and they're free until December 16th, after which they'll set you back 250 MS Points (an awkward $3 and 12.5 cents).

The levels which were missing when the game was released isn't such a big deal. When it was released, the game had 120 levels. That's enough to call it a full game, that's more levels than the original PSP Exit had when it was released, and it's lot a more levels compared to most other games on XBLA.LakeEarth said:I decided to put off buying the game until they gave the levels that were supposed to be in there in the first place, so now I'll give the game a second look.

Dr. Kitty Muffins said:Just got done playing Puzzle Quest and I have to say "WOW". It makes everything else on XBLA (well the demos at least) look like shit. Its probably the most well balanced product on there from what I've seen. I just hope more games in the future are of this quality. It really sets the bar for XBLA.

Tempy said:Excellent. Although I'm wondering one thing. One of the things I loved about previous installments of Chessmaster were the extensive tutorials (voiced too), as well as the huge list of classic matches. Will the XBLA version include these?
EDIT: Okay, that was two things.

I did,but then I've always loved the series.
I even bought the Atari 7800 Asteroids vector update that was released last year.:lol
Anyways - concerning the XBLA release...I dunno about the new overhaul in graphics,sorta distracting more than anything. Often you can't even see whats coming at you with the colorful explotions,I guess I'll just stick to playing the games on their original modes.
Btw-they got the emulation wrong with Asteroids - they didn't even take it upon themselves to add the damn music. The Jaws like bass tune is missing within the game,geez.
Abit sloppy but still a solid release.
7/10 for me.
Without the nostalgiac glasses knock it down a point or two I guess.
Yeah, that's the big fuck-up i predicted right there! The explosions are way too big and you can hardly ever see the smaller rocks splitting off. Genius work as always from Stainless.Angelus said:Anyways - concerning the XBLA release...I dunno about the new overhaul in graphics,sorta distracting more than anything. If only that game, and or others similar from the codemaster catalogue, would go to xbla.
The Oliver twins and Codemasters who both own 50% of the intellectual property have expressed interest in resurrecting the series, although the twins concede;
... if he were ever to make another appearance it would have to be something special ... he would have to compete with the likes of Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank - and those types of games require big budgets and many months of development. If there's a publisher willing to commit to that kind of investment, though, then they can definitely count us in.
The Oliver twins's software company, Blitz Games (with the permission of Codemasters) have experimented with their artists to demonstrate what the Dizzy series might look and feel like if revisited (see below) and produced a one minute video clip with an online petition to see if there was consumer interest. The online petition has recently been moved to www.yolkfolk.com.
The creators have also expressed interest in re-releasing the existing titles to handheld platforms such as mobile phones.
It's actually really awesome multiplayer, I bought it last night. I don't know what to call it either, someone I was playing with called it a capture the flag of the NES jaws game.Psychotext said:Played Undertow... I really, really don't get it. · Sensible World of Soccer (Codemasters). The game that inspired a generation, Sensible World of Soccer lets players experience both the classic and modern HD version. With multiple play modes, they can play a quick game, start a career mode, manage a team or take part in their own Champions league.
More than 100 games are now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade, including dozens of original intellectual properties and classic titles updated for this generation. Specific game information about each title will be available on http://www.xbox.com in the coming weeks.
