Wario64 said:Um, the packs are free.
Did no one here play Exit on PSP? They did the exact same thing on the PSP. 100 additional levels released for free as downloads, staggered weeks after the game's release. I'm guessing they want to try to extend the game life by offering the other levels in the future so you can go back and play it.
And keys are 108 KB. I doubt the levels are that big in size anyway.

BobFromPikeCreek said:Man, Exit is not the kind of game you can not play for a few weeks then come back to. I suck ass now.
I guess I should go play through earlier situations to get myself back into it.womp said:Thats something I am enjoying about Exit. I am on Situation 3 stages now and it's cool to play a couple here and there every week or so sporadically when I am in the mood. Some are particularly tricky and it helps to come back with a fresh head later.![]()
Wow. About time.Feral Youth said:Sensible World Of Soccer next Wednesday......
The return of the king.
No kidding. I thought the same; where the hell is the loot? You don't start getting "a lot" (meaning 2-3 items per quest) of loot until the end of the game. And a treasure room yields a massive ~300 gold? What the fuck?womp said:One thing that REALLY pisses me off about Arkadian is the lack of loot or even gold for crissakes when you hit barrels or pots.
WTF?
Just don't expect to encounter many people online (co-op and races) and don't try to access the leaderboards. They're completely broken.Darunia said:Yesterday I decided to give the Switchball trial a whirl. Wow. Luckily I had just bought some points, had to own it immediately. Looks stunning too.

The combat sucks, the exploring is boring and there is no loot. It's like the definition of epic fail.

They should just port Alien Swarm. It's probably the best indie isometric action game I've ever played. It's right up there with Crusader: No Remorse.aku:jiki said:No kidding. Developing for XBLA isn't cheap, and publishers won't touch most indy stuff with a 100ft pole.... so they aren't missing it on purpose.Dr. Kitty Muffins said:I think a whole lot more indie stuff should be on XBLA already. Some of these companies are really missing the boat.
Shard said:There is more indie stuff coming in 2008 then I think most are aware of.
Anyway, I have bad news to report, I am now reasonable sure what the other game coming out this Wednesday is, and it is not good times, it is bad times.
The Innocent X said:Who cares? No one will have time to play it with SWOS coming out.
Shard said:Still, you bring up a good point, tis' a good week for disposing of utter trash, yet I am deeply afraid that this title will outdraw SWOS.

Wish we could get Poker Smash instead.

Thats just a key.
Maybe it was to get people to complete the other stuff first but still, it was stupid.

But Map Pack 1 was 10-20 megs.gcfan2k5 said:Keys are 108KB as has been previously stated. Level data for EXIT is likely absurdly small (hex values to mark the location of any given objects, and the level layout) The assets are already there in the main game, the new levels dont have new assets.
Exit is a great game btw.
gcfan2k5 said:Exactly. Wii Ware will be the most viable place for indie stuff this gen.

Rlan said:I'm enjoying Marble Blast Ultra a hell of a lot. I'm almost done. There seem to be quite a few people playing online too.
I'd definitely be up for grabbing Cloning Clyde, DOOM, POP Classic, or Eets for 400. I'd like to know what they're doing with Xbox Originals now.. haven't heard a peep since.

Buy Eets: Chowdown and Prince of Persia: Classic now. They're worth the 800 MS Points.Rlan said:I'd definitely be up for grabbing Cloning Clyde, DOOM, POP Classic, or Eets for 400. I'd like to know what they're doing with Xbox Originals now.. haven't heard a peep since.
Do you realize how much items cost? A decent weapon is 90k. 300 gold is chump change and makes you not even give a shit about finding a treasure room, because a couple of chests in a normal room will yield just as much. Finding secrets loses its entire point. There isn't a single room in which you can find a weapon or anything either.xblarcade said:And just how much gold do you think that a treasure room, that's clearly marked on the map, should have?
If the buttons were numbered 1-4, 1 being the closest to the pipe you drop out of, you press them in the order of 3-4-2-1.Darunia said:Is there anyone who knows how to get past this part?
aku:jiki said:If the buttons were numbered 1-4, 1 being the closest to the pipe you drop out of, you press them in the order of 3-4-2-1.
Err, I think. It's been a while. It's some combination of pressing the furthest two and then the closest two anyway. Just pan the camera around and look at the magnets; what you want is to activate them so that they turn off in order from right to left so that once one turns off, you'll be sucked towards the next one and finally dropped into the open pipe.
No, stage pack 1 takes 128kb. Go check the marketplace or your harddrive if you think this is wrong.LakeEarth said:But Map Pack 1 was 10-20 megs.
Quazar said:PC, sorry.
gcfan2k5 said:Whats the last PC game that broke a million? Half-life 2?
PC gaming is dying, Warcraft is the only thing to do 2m+ in nearly three years on the PC as near as i can tell. Developing for the PC is all good and well but 80% or more of the people who play PC games pirate 100% of their stuff.
Wii Ware is by far the most viable platform for small developers on consoles, and judging by the lack of non free indie content that sells well on PC, id say its the most viable period.
ZombieSupaStar said:yeah but unless we stop using pcs, theyll always be games for them.
gcfan2k5 said:We see it starting even now, consoles are the lead development platform, the PC versions are just ports. COD4 will sell the most by FAR on the 360, more than PS3 and PC combined even, this will make Activision think twice about its PC support (im going to bet the PC version sells even less than the PS3 version).
UT3 will sell the most by far on 360 as well. I cant think of any upcoming PC exclusive that will sell enough to cover the development cost, let alone enough to make the focus shift back towards PC gaming. For less than the cost of a high end GPU you can buy a console that can play 99% of the same games (MMO and RTS notwithstanding, and good games in those genres are few and far between anyway, and a few are on 360 as well) with graphics that are as good or close enough. This isnt like last gen where the consoles became horribly outclassed pretty early on in terms of graphics. Crysis does it, but 1. it sold like crap and 2. itll be three years before you can play it at 30fps with 4xAA at 1080p on a single card solution costing under $400.
