How would porting to PS3 detract from these long goals?Andrew2 said:And they won't do it for some 1 reason...they have long-term plans for it. The very fact Epic has trademarks beyond games for toys, clothing, even coin-ops games, you name it for GOW say it.
If anything, I could see Epic wanting to build GOW as a second pillar next to Unreal and they're just using MS to achieve this. Overall this why devs like Id, Valve, Epic and Bioware have it better than most third-party devs out there...they can do whatever they want their respective IP's and at the expense of people whether its MS, Sony, Nintendo or whoever...just look at at Valve did to Sierra and Epic to Atari

In NA it sure looks bad. By the time Sony gets their act together, Wii and X360 will have taken most of the market and mindshare. Of course, Sony could drop the price of the system to $400 tomorrow, start enjoying healthy third party sales starting in March, and stop with the constant PR gaffes today. Anything's possible, just not particularly plausible given how things have unfolded so far.Master Z said:DMC4 goes mulitplatform and it's over for Sony? Define 'die'. Last place is death relative to where they sat moments ago. Of course, things can go their way by end of year, but it's kinda difficult to draw up a plan of how that's going to happen given the way things look right now.Master Z said:Sorry man but I just don't see how it's supposed to be over for Sony. They're about to launch in Europe, they still have great games coming, Blu-ray is doing well, people are just overreacting here. People seem to forget that Sony doesn't have to dominate the market for the playstation business to be profitable.
People expected Sony to die are just going to be dissapointed.
Did you not read NA in my post? As in North America?travisbickle said:What's "the market"?
100 million World wide? Maybe a bit more with PS3s multi-functionality and Wiis "new gamers"
And how much do you consider "most of the market"?
You're second and third line are GAF over reaction personified.

urk said:I can already give you the rundown on the comparison:
The 360 has better lighting and textures, but the PS3 has waterfalls in the background that use radiant AI. Also, the 360 version is too dark and the PS3 version, too light.

Master Z said:"Die" as in the Sony playstation goes out of business, discontinued, etc. And don't you think it's too early to be proclaiming what place the PS3 will end up in? Japan and Europe could easily put the PS3 in second place worldwide.
He didn't expect Capcom to backstab PS3 owners/Sony in the back considering DMC is always been a Playstation FranchiseZenith said:Wanna explain how? this doesn't compromise the PS3 version's quality in the slightest. and now I get it on PC. only reason I can think of is your pride taking a hit.
It's not coming to either. Fake press release.Chû Totoro said:The Devil May Cry Trilogy: Definitive Editon is also scheduled on PS3 ?

AdmiralViscen said:Wait, people are talking about Gears on 360? :lol
Not only is that game/series closely held by MS, but we have yet to see any example of an Only on 360 tagged game switching over. I don't see why people are using this story to justify a port of LP/DR/Gears. Sequels for the first two, yes. Ports... there's no basis for saying that yet. Gears, never.
If I'm claiming to know how things end up, it's because you're apparently incapable of reading my posts. I only say things that could be possible. Things that I think are happening. Obviously, it's my projection based on current events and looking at how some things affect others.Master Z said:"Die" as in the Sony playstation goes out of business, discontinued, etc. And don't you think it's too early to be proclaiming what place the PS3 will end up in? I have never played any of the Devil May Cry games because I never jumped on the PS2 band-wagon. But I was truly interested in the games...
So... I have an X-Box 360 and love Capcom games... so I cannot wait for RE:5, DMC:4...
Very good news for X-Box 360 owners and Microsoft...

Those two companies have investors or are they privately held?
I would think that this will create some controversy in those boardrooms, if decisions haven't already been made to go multi.
