(OH SHIZNITS) Devil May Cry 4 confirmed multiplatform PS3/360/PC

For the people that just tuned in:

Biggest spin so far is that some people think that DMC4 being announced for the 360 means that GoW will go the the PS3.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

What the **** is the point in comparing the two when there's no information on the 360 version anyway? Honestly, any real gamer on this forum is going to own all 3 consoles anyway.

So people who aren't crazy enough to blow a total of USD 1250 on hardware alone aren't gamers now?

Go away.

Probably because every system has games worth playing. If you don't wanna blow $1250 on hardware, then gaming isn't your hobby. :)

to be fair, that's $1250 spread out over maybe four years or so. there's no requirement to spend all that at once.

No, gaming is my hobby. Gaming, however, is not my life.

Every system will have great games worth playing. However, when you factor in the fact that I have maybe 5 hours a week of console gaming time, owning 3 consoles becomes pretty stupid.

Oh look, the equivalent to someone who calls gamers "nerds" has appeared.

We're gamers on the pre-eminent video game industry discussion community. The only reason our pictures aren't in dictionaries next to the term 'nerd' is because we're not photogenic enough.

you guys do know that xbox live have an awesome award system do you, so you think home will be a good feature for multiplatform games...lol

What? You're kidding right. Maybe I wasn't brought up by some rich parents but the amount of money or systems you buy has nothing to do if you're a gamer or not.

He didn't expect Capcom to backstab PS3 owners/Sony in the back considering DMC is always been a Playstation Franchise

"backstab"?

aside from how ridiculous that sounds, how does this affect PS3 owners adversely?

Damn, now I know how Ninento campers felt about RE4.

Now I have to prepare myself for all the future PS3/360 screenshot comparison threads.

my vote goes to "Barlog scared them off"

it didn't seem to scare anyone off the PS2 where there were plenty of awesome games i notice!

If 1 POTENTIAL unannounced game is scaring all action fighters off, Sony are ****ing ****ED if you buy into this apologist fanboy nonsense.

I grew up poor. Gaming is just a hobby for me, and people who spend shitloads of their time talking about games instead of playing them saying they don't spend enough time on games, well.. maybe they need to set their priorities straight.

Anyway my point is that if you have a hobby, why not go all out on it? I know plenty of people who collect thousands of dollars worth of comic books and shit.

I think you're talking about the wrong GoW now. Or maybe I'm confused. :(

I think instead of hobby you mean obsession.

this coming from a guy who thinks good gameplay is not required if a game has good Art and story :lol

NGB will always be better than DMC, God of War and other similar games...

anyway, this is great news for 360 owners.

I don't play DMC so this news means little to me, but this is probably a sadder statement than any amount of damage control I've seen in this topic.

If you don't wanna blow $1250 on hardware, then gaming isn't your hobby.

what if you are buying a top end PC for the cream of gaming?

i hear it has awesome non-gaming functions including social networking and you can even access the web and play HD movies!

aaaaaaaaaaaand i misread your post! sorryboutsthat!

Gaming is my hobby yes. When I'm not with my friends, studying for a test, or in class--it's what I do.

But you know what--I have to pay a tuition, housing, meal plan, and car insurance. We all have priorities and gaming is definitely not above my education and outside life.

What you're talking about now sounds more like an obsession.

Some PS3 owners bought PS3 for DMC only to find out it's been multiplatform which they could have bought a cheaper system instead.

He's saying that its basically hurts him to see companies not stay exclusive on the ps3. wow, just like sony, there fanbase really need to wake the hell up.

spending $1250 on hardware over the course of a console generation (which is running at least 5-6 years now from what i can tell) doesn't constitute obsession. factor in the fact that as time goes on hardware prices go down and/or you continue getting more features and accessories for your money, and that's really not that big of a deal.

Shane will just say that God of War is the new DMC. And honestly, he'll be right. This still hurts Sony though, and is part of a trend.

Sony wanted to spend money on stuff that they own and publish instead of moneyhats. Will they stick to it?

Maybe Sony should've adopted a more proactive strategy last generation instead of the "Our console has 80million units sold, be happy we're letting you put your project on our machine" stance they often times took. Its funny, because they reminded me a lot of SNES era Nintendo in terms of arrogance. Microsoft on the other hand is going on to third parties that have projects they like and offering to publish and throw its marketing muscle behind the projects. Its also funny because they remind me of early PSone era Sony who went out and sought potentially big 3rd party published games like FFVII.

Well, they end up with one less weapon to use when it comes to the all-important and all-consuming war on the battleground known as the online gaming forums. Serious business.

buying a console soley for one game when said game isn't released yet means the joke is on you. and it's fairly obvious this isn't why you're mad, it's because of some ridiculous brand loyalty.

It's not hard to set back a certain amount of money per paycheck to be able to eventually afford a console.

So now I just need to buy one console to be a true gamer, phew, good to know? Would a DS or a PSP count?

It can be, especially if you want to buy games for the systems you already own, and only have about 50$ of wiggleroom per cheque.

Nope, those aren't consoles. :(

Seriously though, Wii has Super Mario Galaxy (K FIXED) and some other crap and uhh... PS3 has MGS4, White Knight Story, FFXIII, Shin Megami Tensei 4, God of War 3 (yes, exclusive because it's made by Sony) and 360 has Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata and some other games and stuff.

Overtime! :lol

I don't know what to say, there's always a game drought to set money back during.

Definitely don't have the time to read all of this, but am I the only one who is excited for 360 owners? Hell, with all these school payments, I only had enough money for my PS3, but finally some people that have been stuck on the "NG >" stance for a long time will get a chance to play a great series.

At least until a bigger userbase is established, these announcements are going to be frequent. Eventually the series will fade out, and something new will come - so I don't understand the idea of putting all your marbles (buying a system) based on a 3rd party developer.

I remember when all I wanted for PS2 were newer versions of my PS1 games - I read the first article on the original DMC/Onimusha and was skeptic about the games (as were the people previewing the build), and look how it all turned out. The whole cycle of phasing out a series and introducing new IPs is going to repeat itself eventually.

definitely look this stuff up before you start tossing around the term "real gamer"

Actually it was a brain freeze. :X

And yeah I'm kinda dissapointed in my Wii, I'm still worried it'll turn out like the Gamecube.

Please just stop. Quit while you're behind. This whole chain of posts by you is about the most retarded thing I've ever read.

Of course:

Kotex II: Now With Wings!
Disregard anything from him about everything

But it's still truuuuue!

Lots of people here fap over games on all 3 consoles. :P

But there are also people here who (still) don't own a PS2. Shocker!

P.S. Quoting my tag means you don't visit the gaming forum often. Also I've never seen you before. Who the hell are you?

Edit: I see, you only visit threads I never go to. Oh snappers!

guess it depends on what sort of games you want to play on it, but super mario galaxy, metroid prime 3, super paper mario, and twilight princess are worth it to me. i actually loved my gamecube though, so ymmv.

Seriously those who buy a console for just one game deserves it anyway. :)
