Anyone catch this reference?
Oh shit!!
I'd love to see some more screencaps or gifs from this film. There were some really striking visuals in it.
Anyone catch this reference?
How YA friendly is this?
Is it appropriate for a 13 year old?
Thanks
yea if you're ok with them hearing the word fuck about 6 times total
and some animal blood. (actually lots of animal blood in this one short scene. but its just that scene)
Is the action as good as the reviews said? I wasn't expecting any kind of decent action here, but quite a few reviews were praising the action as well done

Well it looked like hot garbage in the trailers so I guess no adjustment needed.Adjust expectations, it's definitely his worst film. Still worth a watch.
An amazing film. Fell in love with Mija and Okja's relationship. It was something out of Studio Ghibli.
Definitely left feeling that I wanted to see more from this South Korean director.
I LOVE Bong Joon Ho's work but I'm so strung out and having a really rough trip back home with a lot of pressure and family drama...so I'm not exactly in the mood for a sad/disturbing/emotionally turbulent film.
How devastating is the ending?

I was talking about this film with some friends, and ended up describing it as the type of story you might expect from Studio Ghibli, only live action. Not sure if others will agree, and I don't mean to say it doesn't have its own identity, but the general tone really hits those notes for me.
That stuff was totally relevant to the plot though, to prepare us for the ending and to depict the horror of factory farming. It's cruel but not unnecessary, and it's not gratuitous in its depiction.Beautiful movie. The relationship between Mija and Okja is really touching.
There was this one thread recently about unnecessarily cruel moments in movies and I say this one has two totally irrelevant to the plot brutal scenes :
Gyllenhaal in the lab roasting her meat
The rape
