7-12 hours of poor sleep, my hours are way off - sleep around 3-5am, wake up any time between 11am-4pm. It's this way because my schedule allows for it and my friends like to stay out late, but I should adjust my hours because it feels pretty disgusting waking up regularly at 3 in the afternoon. My plan for the new year is to slowly adjust my schedule so that I crash at around 11pm and wake up at around 9am. I've been told humans' optimal sleeping hours are between 10 and 12, and that any sleep we get beyond something like nine or ten hours is worthless. I don't know how legit that theory is, but it doesn't hurt to try it out.

It really depends on the time of the year.

If it's the summer and I'm out of school, I'll get as much sleep as I need, whether it's 7-8 hours on a regular night, or 11 hours after a 4-5 hour night.

During the school year I'll sleep until I have to get up for the most part, which leads to pretty frequent sub-7 hour nights. I usually try to make up for the lack of sleep during the weekends.
