Yep, you are right. I saw a couple of mention of this JapNation Animanga in LATimes. But yea, can't find any valid info about it.

Then the name in the article would be romanized Hinachi, not Hinati. Ti has never been a native Japanese sound as far as I know. What happened is whoever wrote this story made up a Japanese-sounding name without knowledge of the language.
