I'd assume since cricket uses GSM you should be able to just buy the phone unlocked, buy a prepaid Sim card plan and should work?

I have the phone. I am not worried about making calls. I just would like to know if the phone is compatible with Cricket's 4G LTE network and does Cricket throttle speeds.

AT&T caps all the other prepaid brands at 8 Mbit/s

Yes, data is capped. 8 LTE and 4 3g. Also starting next month, the $35 (after autopay) will get 2.5gb of data instead 1gb. The other tiers have been upgraded too.
I have an OPO with Cricket and get LTE.

Well, the icon says LTE. I have no idea if it's throttled as I've never checked. After you run out of data, they throttle it to 3G and it becomes unlimited. I'm currently over my 4G limit so I can't do a speed test right now to see if they throttle LTE>

One last thing, does the Deezer music service eat up data? They charge $6/mo for it?
