That movie kicked so much ass :D I hope everyone gets to enjoy it on a giant screen. An elbow to the skull never looked so good.

2 things annoyed me about the movie:
1) Formulaic Plot- it wasn't in English put you already knew what was going to happen
2) The repeats- alright the first few times but then it started to get annoying
Other than that one of the best Martial Arts Movies I've seen.

well, martial arts movies tend to have generic plots. plots just get you from one fight to the next. if an original plot is used, or they try to be creative, they'd have to work too hard make the fight sequences fit in.

Looks pretty cheesy. I see no reason why a plot should be generic just because it's a certain kind of movie. A good story makes the fight scenes more interesting. I don't enjoy watching movies that are just a series of stunts with little drama to them. I'm not saying this movie is like that, as I haven't seen it. It could be both generic and good, but that rarely happens.

I saw this at a theatre with English subtitles and it was awesome. If you're watching this and picking the plot apart then you've got a stick up your ass. It's hilarious and doesn't take anything away from the movie, when I saw it the 1000 or so people in the theatre were all laughing and cheering, it was fantastic. :lol

Did you see it at the toronto film fest two years ago? It was a theatre of that size, and it seated 1000 people. Awesome show, I hadn''t seen people go crazy over a movie like that.

This flick rocked on so many levels that japanese flicks can't even reach this day and age. :p
Care to explain? Granted i had no idea what was being said, butthe main plot was pretty easy to understand. Evil guy steals part of a sacred statue, good guy goes to get it back. i don't see the film as any better or worse overall than similar Japanese films. If anything, it reminded me greatly of Jackie Chan's earlier movies, with a good mix of martial arts and comedy.

And yes, the "replay" shots sucked. We did that in the 70s and early 80s. But it was meant for a Thai audience, so i'm not holding it against the film. In any case, i'll watch the film when it comes here.

Auckland film festival, halfway through this year. Sounds like you had the same kinda thing going on though, there were people clapping and shit whenever he kicked someone's ass. :lol

And the guy with the throat vibrator is the best villain EVER.

The movie is freekin' amazing. I was always wondering, the fights ... they look so real, full of impact, was it all full contact fighting?

I can't wait to see this on the big screen. The crowd's reactions to some of the most innovative stunts seen on film will be worth the price of admission.
