By the way did Onimusha 1 HD sold any good?
It was a very bare bones release as far as i can recall, didn't had Genma changes.

Edit: 2 HD announced. hope they release the others before the new game then.

Are you seriously excited by a fixed camera? I don’t get it, difficulty shouldn’t be introduced by frustrating the player imo.

if you want an action-heavy hack-and-slack, yeah fixed camera probably isnt the best choice

but if you want a slower, more ambient, mysterious action-exploration game where the environment tells a story, fixed-camera has a ton of benefits.
plus the backgrounds from the RE1 gamecube remake still look great... itd be so interesting to see what modern hardware could achieve.

Unnamed protagonist confirms it isn't Samanosuke then. Early Edo period would mean it takes place after the death of Hideyoshi...so Onimusha 5 territory perhaps?

I've seen speculation that maybe we play as Musashi?
