The planned online mode in Bottle Rocket's Rise of the Kasai for PlayStation 2 has been cut from the game's feature set, Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today. While the followup to the 2002 cult favorite The Mark of Kri will feature cooperative elements in its single-player game, multiple players will not be able to cooperate online.
The single-player game will still feature both characters, but one of them will always be controlled by the game's A.I.

Damn, first GT4 and now this...

Damn, that sucks. I was really looking forward to that mode. Freakin' PS2 won't feed my need for online stealth action. I'm still looking forward to Rise of the Kasai, but not as much as before.

I'm reviewing Gretzky 2005 for PS2 right now. I've seen a grand total of four people online in two days, and better yet, I send them challenges and they won't even play! PS2 online is very hit or miss.

Isn't Rise of the Kasai the sequel to MARK OF KRI?

yuck if so.

Do you people even read the threads you're replying to? From the first post:

Damn that sucks. I don't like Co-Op or Online Play, but it could've been a feature to interest casual into the Mark of Kri serie.

Hate on Kri = BANNEDED!!!!!

Anyway AI partners suck I have yet to see a console game with a good AI partner....

couldn't be bothered reading it - vaguely registered when I read EDGE that this was the sequel and you played as the sister. One of the WORST GAF recommendations I picked up and played (I want both my time and money back).

I only picked Kri up after reading all the cult-fave posts here. Loved every minute of it. Can't wait for the sequel.

Mark of Kri rocked, you suck

Plus I grabbed it for $7 at TRU, woo. It was even $5 at Circuit City at one time. Can't go wrong with those prices

Yeah, The Mark of Kri was pretty awesome. I loved the stealth based levels, those were always my favorite. And it's the only time I've ever played a game that used the right analog stick during fights well. Sure it was only for locking on to enemies, but it made sense.

*looks at Rise to Honor and Death by Degrees*

Like Wario, I got in on teh cheap. Pretty sure I paid $10 at a local game store. Worth every penny. Nice amount of replay value with Baumusu's goals, the arena challenges, unlockable costumes, and concept art.

Of course The Mark of Kri could still use some polish. Maybe better character models, longer single player mode, more weapons, deeper combos, and more varied stealth levels. But that's what sequels are for. :)

The art direction was greatness. Conan the Barbarian, animated by 'good' period Disney, with a heavy layering of micronesian coolness throughout. Woop.

That's really ...disappointing.

The AI partner, even in the E3 build, wasn't all that bad. Plus, watching them tear shit up was pretty neat. Still, it would've been ten times cooler if that was your friend you would (occasionally) fight alongside.
