So what's the verdict on this? Haven't really followed it, but it looked very interesting back when it was initially announced.

I had one for a few weeks. Great phone but it was too big so I ended up selling it. Quite the size increase going from a 4 inch screen to this phone.

It's a little too late! I was looking forward to buying it when it was announced, but the invite system was a terrible idea IMO, I waited long enough but ended up buying a Note 4 instead. Good thing too, because I read about the yellow display and battery issues, and of course a lack of support from Cyanogen.

Purchase it through paypal instead of using a credit card on their site.

My phone stopped detecting it's SIM when I swapped it a few weeks after purchasing it. OnePlus report refused to help me, so I had to get my refund through a paypal dispute.

I really love mine. I just updated to Lollipop via CM12s (CyanogenMod 12S), it's a great phone and I got it for a fraction of the price of all these other flagships even though it has identical internals. It's a huge leap from my old-ass iPhone, I really like how open and fast the OS is. No bloatware.

For what it's worth: my screen isn't yellow and I have no battery issues. In fact, it actually lasts a long damn time. Great phone.

I have one and I really like it. There have been a few hiccups for me but things usually get fixed with the next update. I don't think I'll go back to the big company phones if one plus can keep making phones that work well and are priced at a fraction of the cost. Paying $350 instead of paying $800+ outright for a phone is amazing.

If I didn't already have a Nexus 5 I'd be all over it. I just looked at the specs, $300 seems like a really good deal. Vanilla Android to boot.

Great phone. Had to give mine to my wife because it's just too big. Hopefully OnePlusTwo will have a 5" variant. Perhaps the invite system won't be as slow as the first one now that they've got their name out there.

it's great, battery lasts 2 days and has great specs for a great price.

But don't update the firmware, Android 5/Cyanogen 12 is a horrible update for it.

Decent alternative to the Nexus line especially if you're put off by the size/price of the Nexus 6. Support is shitty as you expect for an overseas company.

Yes, it's a 50/50 situation, some people got it and others didn't! I'm glad to hear that you've no issues with yours, I didn't want to take a chance and/or wait to buy it.

I feel like if they made a phone sub 5.2" with great specs, battery and that price it would be the phone i'd eventually upgrade to.

To be fair, the invite system was a great idea. A small startup company could not afford to mass produce phones for them to not sell, so they created demand by using this system, it just went on for far too long.

As for the phone itself, best phone I have owned, ever.

Couple of friends at work have this phone. I actually had to fix a soft button issue with one of them by flashing a CM12 kang to it. Other than that, solid phone for the price.

The invite system cost them business too. I wanted to upgrade my Nexus 4 last year but the Nexus 6 turned out to be a monstrosity. I probably would have bought an OPO if I had been able to get it back then. Instead, they persisted with their invite system and by the time I was actually getting invites, I had lost interest. I'd be surprised if this new announcement of dropping invites altogether does anything to boost their business now given that an OPO2 is definitely around the corner and everyone will know that.

Isnt this a pretty outdated phone now? Or is it still the king of price to features ratio?

In general we hit a performance peek in Android land last year where everything with an 801 chipset and beyond is more than adaquate for average usage tasks. In general you're gonna have trouble seeing a major difference for things outside of games on the One Plus or Nexus 6 or LG G3 or GS6 or the Moto X 2014 ect...

It's more about the feature set, camera, battery life, and form factor coupled with the price tag.

In general the One Plus ticks all the right boxes. The only area it brings hesitance in is the form factor as the phone isn't just big in terms of screen size, but it's also rather bulky. That may or may not be a turn off to you.

Really like mine. Zero drawbacks for me, great battery life compared to my past phones, sleek design, very solid build and cheap relatively speaking. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone looking for a good phone.

AWESOME phone. I love mine. I bought it about 2 weeks ago.

Battery lasts two days. The Snapdragon 801 in it is still great and it has 3gb of RAM. It is a big phone (5.5 inch screen) but I have big hands so it's great for me. I'm using StraightTalk (AT&T service) and love the $45 LTE service. Any hardware issues reported are the result of receiving a bad device IMO as mine has been great. Couldn't recommend more! My previous Android phones are: Moto X and HTC One. I'm consider myself an Android power user as I used to flash roms and root but there really is no need with Cyanogen.

Anyone have a bamboo styleswap case? Heard those were open for purchase now too and I'm thinking about picking one up
