Can someone explain the one with all the circles? Why does our brain make it seem like they are moving? Is it because it thinks thats what should be happening and make it so? Obviously they arent.

I forgot where I read this but our eye sight has a natural blind spot and when an item enters said spot, it tries to calculate whatever you see in that spot. I thought that was kinda crazy.
Anyone else read something like that?

Oh I love these! Optical illusions really show that the brain does a lot of computation behind the scenes to interpret the electromagnetic field into images, and these illusions reveal some of the shortcuts and approximations it takes.

People see it differently depending how their eyes are made up. The perceived colours are bit difficult to discern for the brain, so they just choose to go with a certain 'whitebalance', while other people's brain will choose the other way around.
