Yes, they stopped doing that a while ago but never took the option out. Someone else mentioned the installer folder, i do not believe that folder is by itself sufficient to back up the game. my understanding is that for many games you can back up the actual game folder containing all the game files and then on a new computer copy the folder to where you want the game to install and double click the game exe or the setup exe. The game will then do whatever is necessary to run. In my experience while this does work, it is a pretty awful system because often the reinstall does not update registries, etc.
I also have not messed with our for a few months so the small caveat is they might have changed all this.

Customer service sometimes doesn't know shit.
When they were giving away codes for a free game way back when I didn't get one and asked a customer rep about it. He repeatedly assured me that if I had verified my e-mail with Origin (I had), I'd get a code. I never did.

But BF2 is still the best in the series. Luckily I got that as well after I lost my discs
Battlefield 1942 is the best, followed closely by Bad Company 2. I didn't have that much fun with BF2 either. I thought Desert Combat was better than BF2

Which you can alleviate with a simple dll file which basically makes it so you can launch BF3 without Origin
I grabbed Kingdoms of Amalur for $16 since that was the cheapest I've seen it. Haven't installed it yet, but hopefully there is something similar for that game.
Having three (or eventually more) game clients is so excessive.
I would legit die if this happened to Steam. Sooooo many more games I want there.

I only got one game since I tried it on another game and it didn't work, so I figured the code could only be used once. I missed out on getting tons of games I'd never play!

Try this method.
First you clear the cookies of origin and ea.
Second you go to http://store.origin.com/?ipr=ty
Third you pick a game under 19.99$ and add it to your basket. (Must be an EA game and for PC Digital)
You apply the code and see that the cost is 0.00$
Proceed with checkout, and login when it asks you to login.
Steam probably would have closed it after the first 36 hours.

Guess I'll use this coupon to get Mirror's Edge for free just so I can finally be able to spend $5 to play that DLC that was never f'n released on Steam. Edit: Oh, it's dead, lame. Guess I'll continue to not play the ME DLC. Actually, maybe I'll submit a support ticket begging them to "activate" the game on Origin for me since I bought the game already on Steam so I can get the DLC.
Don't bother. I must've tried dozens of times but they're retarded. Luckily I was able to get Mirror's Edge and its DLC on Origin for free thanks to this deal.

I should of tried this earlier in the morning when i first saw it. I just assumed i wouldn't be able to do it because i was in the UK, but i tried it and it worked. It stopped working shortly after that but i managed to get a few games. Would of been nice to get the Sims 2 + Expansions.

even if they did, I wouldn't care. If they weren't free, I wouldn't have picked those games up anyway. My backlog of games I actually cared about enough to buy is long enough as it is. I picked these games up because I could...no more no less.

I had heard bad things about Origin and thought I would stick with Steam, Desura and GOG. But now, Origin is installed and I actually like the download client better than the ones from Steam and Desura, GOG is still the best though.
