So, when will we find out if we actually get to keep these games?
After we have played with them for a month, become invested, and then feel stripped of our property when papi EA bends us over and spanks us.

Got everything installed on my hard drive
They're mine forever
Don't be so sure of that.
If they take away these games, it would be the worst thing they have ever done. They should just chalk it up to marketing money and move on. They have people's attention now with Origin, and a little bit of dedication to the service now they own games for it.
Not only that, the new Origin users will never use it. Ever.
P.S. How the hell did people get Alice?
they paid $10 (the difference after -$20) for it.
I was trying to but kept getting a payment authorization error.

Is there a way to move games from one Origin account to another? I've got Burnout, Bulletstorm, and ME2 on a separate account.
And it seems that nobody took Dragon Age 2. I hope EA can use these statistics in future. Nobody liked Dragon Age 2, even when it's free. And many people got Mirror's Edge and there isn't a sequel for it.
It's like EA trying to see which IP has more fans buy giving them free.
Does it still work or am I too late? Cause I don't wanna bother registering if its over.
It's over.
I'm giving this anecdote for probably the fourth time but they took away my copy of Battlefield 3 that I got from an IGN Prime promo after a week. I heard that they did the same to some other people too. But this one is a bit bigger issue.
Ok so one of the games I picked up last night was Mirrors Edge. Holy shit! What a fun little game...I ended up playing it until about 6am I was that hooked. I completely missed this game when it released. It also looks phenomenal maxed out on my M17x.

What happened to your BF3 doesn't matter, since most of the games people "bought" this weekend is older stuff that can be played without Origin. Once you've downloaded e.g. Bulletstorm or Saboteur you don't need to open Origin another time.
I got Simcity 4, Bulletstorm, saboteur, dead space 1 and Dead space 2, which of those don't require origin running (other than Bulletstorm and saboteur)?
I'm going to have more fun reading the thread when EA revokes the games than I will playing any of the games I got for free.
Yeah unless you paid for it they'll take away these games. They took away bf3 on the ign promo
You can install all of those games and remove Origin for good.

I still have my bf3 from the ign promo.
Did you rant about it to CS? How did you manage to keep it?
I didn't have to do anything.
No, it's not possible.
Blarg.
What's this IGN promo you guys are talking about? Did they give the game away without permission or something?
Plus part of the barrier to entry on any digital distro that isnt STEAM is that nobody uses them cause there is no investment. Someone with 30 game library now has a reason to feel like its worthwhile keeping the service around as opposed to someone who just had a single or no game on there.

Not every origin game requires origin running, so on most cases it would not promote origin itself.

This. Since I started using Steam, I haven't used the desktop shortcuts for new games (I haven't added any non-Steam game yet, I should do that). I pin it to the taskbar, launch it and have all my games organized in a nice screen, so the same will happen now with Origin. The only thing I dislike about it is that the games are sorted in alphabetical order instead of release date, so some franchises have their games disorganized (I'm talking about you, Hitmans!).Well, to me though even with that fact, having a single organized view of those games basically voids that for me. Plus origin isnt super bloated and seems to have a minimal interface so i dont feel like im running a hog.

Same here. I later bought BF3 anyways.IGN Prime gave away games and one of them was BF3. Being a trial member I got the game, installed it, played for some time. After some time I read that they removed BF3 from people's accounts. I checked mine and it was gone.
I still have BF3 as well but I have never played it.
I'm sure they will take it away as soon as I run it.
I wonder how time intensive it would be to revoke all our cdkeys. Also, some of these keys are handled by 3rd party DRM like Tages, so they would have to be involved too.
