Outlaws (LucasArts '97 GOAT cowboy shooter) is possibly getting a remaster (Confirmed: Nightdive Studios remaster announced)

I'll quote myself from the "what should Nightdive remaster next" thread:

since they already worked with the engine,
I feel like Outlaws should be in order!

especially great would be to completely remaster the FMVs, as they were REALLY crunchy.

and again, they already got experience with the Jedi engine after porting Dark Forces. and this is the only other game made with the Jedi engine.
it would almost be a waste getting the Jedi engine working with their KEX engine, and then not also remaster Outlaws

a remaster of this would be awesome. I still have the original on CD.

so op posts absolutely no actual evidence that it is getting a remaster.....
If you have been on Steam for a while, you'd know when they rename and old game to "Classic", a remastered is on the way or released. System Shock 2 was renamed System Shock 2 (1999) before. Shadow Warrior 1997 before the remake was called Shadow Warrior 1997 Classic too.

Between this and Street Fighter Zero, are my first PC games back then. I remember having difficulties playing, but managed to progress bit far. I replay it a decade ago, i think i will buy this remake or remaster in the future. Good game, as far as I know. And the graphic is kind of cool at the time.

That's pretty cool! I love how there were multiple engines like these back then. Obviously the Doom engine, which was kinda more "pseudo 3D" since it used a 2D BSP-Tree to divide its geometry and had therefore most of its calculations done in 2D, whereas the Build Engine was already portal based. And it seems that LucasArts's engine is also portal based as well.
The 90s were fucking cool.

I've got a massive soft spot for the Lucasarts games of that era but, like a bunch of others here, this is one I never got to play.
