Given how they kind of strayed away from the Olympic theme with most of the new skins, I'm curious to see how they'll approach the new cosmetics for the upcoming Halloween Terror event.
I still want a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde skin for Winston, or a Werewolf/Vampire Hunter skin for McCree. (Yes, I know he got the Lifeguard skin from the Summer Games event. I still want it.)

After being capped at 6000 competitive points for the last month because I was waiting to see if we were getting new gun skins we can buy, the latest dev news pretty much confirms we're not, so I finally decided to just buy the McCree Golden Gun (even though I barely play McCree) just because it looked the nicest.
Then I see how it looks with his entire character model and didn't like it. So I selected normal gun skin again and am not gonna use it.

Never really used Pharah's, used S76 for a bit with the cyborg skin but went back to night ops so no more gold since it looks dumb on it, never really used Tracer's until the aniversary skin (I had them for a long time before that), hog same deal until he got the pig skin from chinese new year.
Genji was the only one that truly sticked with any skin, looks awesome no matter what.

I'm one of those idiots that always wait for others to pick first to adapt.
Then, when the first picks are something like that I just pick a dps myself too. And it's... quite usual for one of those people to be asking for a healer and a tank instead of switching themselves. You just have to learn to live with it and take the inevitable L if not even one of them is willing to make a decent switch to have a better composition, as good as they may be with those characters.
I always enter a match willing to play anything, even tanking when right now there isn't a single tank that I enjoy playing, but let's be realistic, most of them make those picks out of selfishness and I'm not willing to carry (in my sad SR range) selfish people.
Yup. I love playing Winston, but in Solo Q is almost impossible to do something unless you got a guy on your team that understands what you do. The other day I went into a match were we had Hanzo, Widow, Sombra, Dva and Junkrat. I went Zen. They started to tell me that I should go Mercy. "Nah guys, not gonna babysit you. Use Sombra's hacked healthpacks". Carried the whole team, and after we won a couple of those guys messaged me with "GG nice Zen". The next game I got golden heals with Zen having a Mercy in our team.
What I mean is, play a hero you are comfortable with. In solo Q the team composition is not that important (I mean, it's still pretty important when facing organized teams, but you can win matches with the weirdest picks ever. I mean, I got a win in Gibraltar with an attack Symmetra on my team).

It's three and you just need a Sym on an escort to keep putting down teleporters.
Some trophies are a lot harder due to balance changes, Zarya power level, Reaper 3 kills no reload etc, but none have been made impossible.

I don't think trophies matter at all for Blizz when they are balancing the game, as it should be.
I read somewhere that they can't change the requirements for trophies, so if they do change something in the game making some trophy impossible to achieve the only thing they have to do is unlock it for everyone.

I like most of the changes. We'll see how it goes. Not dropping SR drastically after placements might make people way less salty. That was a mistake.
I like Control being 2 outta 3 as well. Those matches are just exhausting.
Plenty of people were calling for an end to the current placement system

Beat off three is going to make things MORE toxic when people will throw constantly after losing the first point. It's hard enough to run a first point defense on 2CP maps anyway now they're effectively just wasting 10 minutes of my life.
It was designed around being a back and forth battle of attrition to see who could take and who could hold. It's infinitely less fun now and will only get more toxic because of this.

Unless you're pro many picks are viable. There is a case to be made that a Pharah is almost always better than a Junkrat, or a Mercy better than a Zen for solo healing, but just do what you want to do.
And don't complain when you are forced to heal. Do you want to win or play your favorite character? There are other game modes.
Although i must say that it's really annoying when you can tell nobody is getting their picks, and you as a healer now that a change to another character will result in a better composition, but can't, because nobody will switch to healer.
You say that like it's something you'll likely run into within the next 10,000 years.
The biggest problem with competitive is the inability to do anything about throwers and trolls. The fact that the reporting system in place is shit these changes do nothing to make competitive better. So what you get placed higher so will all the smurf accounts.

i'll wait until after S6 placement before i complain.
I'm not really sure how they can efficiently deal with the trolls and throwers. Maybe we'll get the new reporting feature in time, even then, I'm not sure how effective it will be. I'd like to see those who amass enough reports to be limited to playing low priority non-ranked matches where they have to win 5 matches, before they are let back in. If they re-offend, either double the number of required wins or ban comp play for a week and so on.

Just caught up on the Dva changes - getting used to halved DM is gonna take a while. It's become a pretty ingrained rhythm for using it until now - a full charge isn't gonna eat most a roadhog or Pharah ult either. Shooting whilst boosting is just ace though I already use her to chase down Pharahs but end up shooting whilst falling. Interested to see what the damage is like for the rockets but I can already think of a million occasions where that ability would make a huge difference.
