A tank heavy team is basically nano boost city, so much healing potential.
Of course they'll almost all still insist you play Mercy.
Going back to the "must use Mercy" griping of certain teams, I think some people act way too reckless when they get her healing stream attached so half the reason they feel they need her on the team is to try and compensate for their constant suicidal antics.
They'll try the same with an orb on them and wonder why they can't just sponge up damage.
(Meanwhile the best time for sponging up damage/reckless attacking is surely during transcendence, watch as they do LESS in this scenario)

I think they should increase resource requirement for Ana's ult. Now it's way too fast to get for its effect, it can be and usually is instant fight turner. But then I guess Blizz is atm desperate to get their new baby into Meta City.
I love playing Mercy, I main her. Usually people beg me to pick Zen or Lucio :/ I don't like playing Lucio, at all.

They actually give you less, since the XP rewards are nerfed in that mode.
Can't help but feel like the Brawl is badly handled.

Back into the 2600s. I've gotten amazing solo queue teams today. All on comms, playing well, coordinating, calling stuff out, being positive and good players. Working together to make good comps.

So I got placed at 2498 last night, how does the ranking system work? Do you move up only with wins and move down only with losses and the amount for each is based on your personal performance or what? If I get to Platinum will I be able to safely stay in Platinum or am I going to be constantly fluctuating between platinum and gold?
you move up with wins and down with losses but the amount you move is based on a number of hidden factors that blizzard has not been clear about other than to say it involves your personal performance
if you reach any tier up to diamond you'll never lose that badge even if your SR drops below the next threshold, master and grandmaster badges can be lost

Only gain points when you win. Only lose points when you lose. The amount is dependent on your performance.
Once you reach Platinum you can't drop back down in rank, but you can continue to drop down in points. All ranks are like this except for Master and Grandmaster which can drop you in rank.

I just bought because of the free weekend and I've never had trouble being put into a game more or less instantaneously.
That's great, I was worried getting games so easy was just for the weekend bump, thanks.

What's the difference in dropping down points if I can't drop down in rank? I doubt I'm gonna hit diamond or master or whatever is after platinum.

I'm not sure if this checks for ping but going in to network settings of the system menu on the PS4 homepage thingy gives you an option to "test connection". that might do it?
Next hero should be Sombra, expect her around BlizzCon. Next batch of cosmetics will be Halloween themed event. Tho event stuff can't be unlocked with in-game credits.

Oh yeah, I was gone for the time of the summer games. Can they only be unlocked through loot boxes awarded from playtime during the event?
Play Zenyatta only to have your team ignore who's discorded.
That, or event boxes bought during the event. But it may change next event, after the communities reaction towards how it was handled with regards to credits.

Just played Basyion in QP and I destroyed them. If a team can't deal with a Bastion, their chances of winning are very slim. Reins shield isn't even a factor with a Bastion in the field.

After this weekend's games I maintain that true Elo hell is continually being matchmade with folks that don't know how to play their heroes properly or have large gaps in their game knowledge. And short of holding an educational seminar during every match it's tough to overcome.
I've started trying to, as calmly and rationally as I can, point out what is going wrong and what could be done better next time. Stuff like, "DPS folks, your responsibility is to take out their supports. Get Mercy!" And I think a lot of the time the folks I play with have mechanical skills that are just fine they just don't know how to win at Overwatch.
Maybe subsequent seasons will improve this aspect of the game as hopefully the folks that hang around and continue playing will learn what to do and what not to do. And while I am far from perfect I do consider myself a student of the game and am continually looking for ways to improve.
One thing is for sure, I am pretty much done with sitting quietly while on a team that is making bad plays (notice I did not say bad team, I said a team making bad plays).

Nah. That's not how the meta works. You can't RPS your wayou through comps like that and Bastion is still ass regardless. 3/3 is good due to the absolutely insane ult economy it generates. This was a thing back in beta. The new permutation involves 3 tanks because it's very hard to kill them and Ana exists along with a couple other factors.
They need to give Reaper a serious buff to negate that team comp.

Don't know which one to get, but probably Balderich for Reinhardt, because i dislike mercys legendary skins.

You can still play people in lowers ranks by dropping down points. The matchmaking system groups based only on average points.
Again it has very little to do with the tanks anyways :v
The tanks are needed for it to work cause health and sustain, but the you add on the ults to see real suffering.
