Wait this comes out today too?
Hopefully Gamestop lets me get this and Devil Summoner Soul Hackers in about 30 minutes.

EDIT - Oh, that 1st post...

Haha, brilliant title. I don't know if I will get it since I didn't really hear good things about the game.

Whoever isn't raving about this game to you either hasn't played it or isn't awesome enough to handle it. Because this game seriously kicks ass. ;) One of the best games I've worked on since I started at XSEED, without a doubt.

They're not releasing fancy package like they did with The Last Story?

Xseed said awhile ago how this was a "streamlined" release, meaning cheap. They don't have to do anything special as people that want it will get it regardless and others will buy it hoping it soars in value like Xenoblade.

We probably won't even get it in a black case.

This story sounds interesting. I'll have to pick it up, just to complete my Rainfall support. I still need to finish Xenoblade and The Last Story.

Nintendo World Report's US review: 7/10

Neal Ronaghan said:
In some respects, Pandora's Tower shares similarities with Shadow of the Colossus, and while it doesn't ascend to the high barometer of that game, it is worthy of the comparison. Pandora's Tower's greatest triumph is its off-kilter story and premise, but the gameplay backing it up, which is a fusion of Zelda, Castlevania, and the aforementioned Colossus, is still strong. If you can put up with some technical limitations and have the stomach to see a crying vegetarian teenager eat grisly beast flesh, this parting Wii salvo is definitely worthwhile.

Just called my local GameStop and the dude said it wasn't in their shipment today. Not disappointed in the least. I've learned by now that when XSEED announces a date its true release date is one day after what they've announced. I shall pick it up tomorrow like I expected I would have to.

IGN Review - 7.0/10

Even given the irresistible pull of the narrative, Pandora’s Tower isn’t quite up to the standard of other recent Wii RPGs. Yet if at times it seems ugly, confused and repetitive, at others it’s creative, gripping and wonderfully atmospheric. Ganbarion’s game may be no classic, but like Nier, this is rich enough in ideas and narrative force to potentially become something of a cult favourite in years to come.

I disagree with a little in this review, but it is correct in saying that the narrative is good. It's on par with SotC in my opinion.

I'm playing through The Last Story right now and I can safely say that I like both of these worlds more than I liked Xenoblade Chronicles.

Going to call my gamestop at 1.
Been murmurs that some should have it in their shipments on the trucks today.

Would like to pick it up with injustice and soul hackers all at once.

Pre-ordering from Best Buy was a huge mistake :\

Oh well, it's not like I was going to play it now anyways.

Mine shipped from Amazon yesterday. Can't wait to play "Operation Rainfall" on the WiiU. I tried playing Xenoblade on Dolphin but poor audio really bugs me.

My copy is finally at "Shipping Soon"! This is going to be great to play together with Soul Hackers.

Picked my copy up. It "felt" like the last real release for the wii. The guy behind the counter, who is usually on top of everything gaming-related, didn't even know that there was a release on the wii, and thought I came in to pick up injustice.

He also told me that I was the only one who pre-ordered it. And this is a store that does, what I would imagine, pretty high sales on average for Ebgames/Gamestop.

I is sad.

On the plus side, they did have 12 other copies come into the store, so I guess there won't be any initial shortage of them.

edit: and no, there is no black background wii logo, which would have been awesome

It honestly is which is part of why I decided to support and get hyped. Sure there disney infinite and planes and probably some other lower games on Wiis horizon. But I seriously think pandoras tower is the last hurrah for the system in NA

the reversible cover is the same one that Europe got (it's just art, no logos)

But we DID get a reversible cover in the NA version? If so then despite the white cover art that's pretty slick. Is it just the regular cover art without the various Wii case art elements?

My pre-order from Amazon shipped today so mine should be here tomorrow. Should be good! I need to finish ZOE HD first and then I can spend some damn good time with it.

Yeah, I believe it's this:

No time or cash for this, but would hate to lose out on a limited run of the game and be stuck with another Xenoblade situation.

Last Story ultimately got a second run or something; and cheaper too! It's everywhere now for $30. Hopefully that happens here too.

It should, this is xseed publishing instead of Nintendo. The Last Story was their most successful game, and the game comes with the operation rainfall hype and profit hoarders looking for the next Xenoblade.

Would buy this but I already have the incredible UK special edition so unfortunately I'm going to pass until a price drop. Sorry Xseed!

Really is a cool game though, great dungeons and bosses although some of the social elements can get a bit silly. Keep sleeping an hour at a time to open up new conversations :D

Skyward Sword was probably it, I don't think Nintendo has ever actually been the last one to release something for their console.

Fire Emblem 5 was the last SNES game ever. So it's happened, yeah.

At any rate, I was interested in this game, but I've spent quite a bit lately and am working up a backlog, so if I whittle it down I might get to this, but until then, it's just a potential buy.

I will have mine on Thursday.

Considering this was the "Rainfall" games that I wanted most from the start, I am super extra giddy.

I anticipate playing this for a good portion of the weekend.

Mine arrives tomorrow from Amazon.
Kind of amazed how it all fell into place at the end.
The Project Rainfall thing, I mean.

I honestly expected to that we'd get none of the three games.
Somehow, I wound up with two copies of each title, each pair from a different English-speaking territory.

Go figure.

I'm not far in just yet but I'm really enjoying the game. I can't put my finger on it but the game reminds me of Xanadu Next, its a very mysterious game and the story is quite disturbing. Can't wait to play more. Of the operation rainfall games this might be my favorite already.

Mine will be here Thursday.

I figured this was going to be an ultra limited run, so even if I don't play it for another year, at least I'll have a copy.

I'm envious of you guys getting to play this for the first time. I absolutely adored it when got my UK copy. Sadly, I'm not going to able to pick up the US release for awhile. The Last Story is still my favorite of the Rainfall trio but Pandora's Tower is still one of my favorite Wii games and a fitting title to send off the console.
