I don't even know what I mean by this to be honest... the crime seems like it was gang related. I didn't even know there was active opposing factions in that part of town. I guess where there's poverty, there'll always be gang violence.

That sucks man, my girlfriend's grandparents unfortunately live in a rough area and people are able to get into their back garden due to an open gateway (which they can't sort out because that same gateway leads to apartments). Apparently there have been rapes, fights, drug dealings and users and possibly murders in there. I can't even fathom living in an area like that, especially as an elderly person.
