Was it painful? I have that game and never played past the second level. I remember getting it because I thought it had good graphics... worthless now.

There's some fun to be had in the later levels, and I don't regret playing it through to the end. On the other hand, I doubt I'm going to be reinstalling it anytime soon. In the end, I'd say it's a by-the-numbers SF shooter - decent production values considering when it was made, and it hits all the expected notes, but it's nothing you're going to be reminiscing fondly about on messageboards five years from now. (Which is a little disappointing, considering how amazing the original Unreal was for its time. Seems like U2 pretty much killed the non-arena combat half of the Unreal franchise. =/ )

Once I get a new graphics card, I'm going to get them. I have a GeForce FX 5200 right now, and the HL2 demo works fine for me, but I want to play the game as it's meant to be played. So, I'm going to get a GeForce 6600 I think.

Why not start on Half-Life 1 now? That card is more than enough for it.

Diablo III, Fallout 3, Baldur's Gate III, Neverwinter Nights 2, KotR 3, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, StarCraft II, Sytem Shock 3, Ultima 10, etc.

What this good man said. Any of those games would make me melt in an instant.

That being said my next real world purchase is going to be BF2:SF.
