PDZ Clips

I'm not gonna bother watching the Kameo video. I already know Im gonna buy it and I don't want to ruin it by seeing more and more footage -_-

BTW, his name is gamestopzak. I wonder if he managed to get these from one of those gamestop retail shows. Wasn't there supposed to be one in Texas recently?

Looks very good but yes the animations could use more work. How long does it take a team to rework them,is there enough time before its launch?

The 2nd video is ass kicking-love the lighting in it. And the stage look pretty expansive, like theres a whole lot out there to explore,I love that in shooters.

I can't believe people are complaining the switch from 3rd to 1st person is to fast. Having a slow transition for a fast paced game like this would be utterly retarded.

One word, disorientation. Its too fast and jerky it needs to be smooth like in MP.

The forest looks nice but its hard to tell how nice given the quality of the video and that annoying visor distortion that goes on ever 10 seconds. I don't want to comment on the enemy AI just yet because not a whole lot of combat was shown but what I did see wasn't exactly blowing my mind either.

Edit: The deathmatch movie shows just how awkward the dive really is imo.

you know I did the same thing, its so close now and I kinda felt like i ruined it with that 30 min vid i saw last week.

The graphics are nice, but to be honest, this game lacks anything revolutionary to get me excited. It's those revolutionary, new games, that move systems and make my blood boil in anticipation. The first PD did that, this one isn't. This just seems like a FPS with nice graphics. I even heard today that they cut down multiplayer to 32. So I don't know...This game just itsn't doing it for me.

But then again, I enjoy FPS's for their multiplayer. That's why the first PD rocked so hard. Gotta wait till I see that to decide.

I wish they didn't have the 3rd person transitions at all. They really don't serve any purpose other than to show off Joanna's model (look at her shake her ass while she's climbing the ladder). When Joanna walks up the ladder I would rather see her hands grabbing onto the steps or when she does the zip line I would rather just see her arms hanging. The third person stuff takes you out of the action and ruins the illusion IMO.

I wasn't crazy about the 3rd person stuff in Metroid either but I can understand why they did it because you needed to see where you were rolling around to and the third person camera gave you better control. But unlike Metroid I don't think the 3rd person camera is really neccessary here.

only saw the second vid so far, but hot damn, it looks phenominal IMO. that looks like one hell of a detailed backdrop for a stage.

:lol but yeah, the rag doll is overdone. should make for some funny moments though

No, im happy they ARE sticking with 3rd person, its far easier to peek round corners which adds a whole new dynamic to steal missions for FPS games.

Riddick is an example of how well 1st person to 3rd person works. Im delighted that Rare decided to use it, i dont know if you remeber but i used to say in Riddick Impressions thread that i would love Perfect Dark Zero to use 3rd person to execute certain moves.

Looks like Rare were reading GAF :P

I disagree I see no reason why the game can't feature 3rd person views on some part but my thing is the way they are using it. It doesn't look natural at all like they didn't think the system all the way through. Ive seen games do 3rd person transitions beautifully (Not just MP) but this isn't one of them. I'll retain final judgement until I play it for myself but nothing about those PDZ vids makes me want to run out and pre-order. The enviroments are pretty damn good looking though but thats just one part of the equation.

i also loved it in Strangers Wrath. I'm sure i'll love it in PD0 as well :)

Obviously it's much improved over the likes of wall guy, but that crazy animation is not my cup of tea. I'm also baffled as to the third-person pull-outs -- they seem unnecessary more than anything and look like they really disrupt the game's flow.

I don't mind 3rd person stuff where it makes sense (and I would agree that it makes sense lookiing around a corner). It just seems like here what they did was everytime Joanna has to do a special action they switch to 3rd person. Its a bit overused for my tastes is all.

Makes sense. I just figured it was Zeo's conjoined twin with access to a wireless kb.

these must be from the gamestop conference? how the F could a GS conference have better games on the floor than TGS?

Because a single GameSpot outlet sells more Xbox than the whole Japan? [/cheap shot]

I hate to sound like a Sony fanboy, but PD0 really doesn't impress me at all in these BAD videos. I guess I can blame wallguy for the enthusiastic reaction here...

Impressive jungle level? Sorry but it doesnt even come close to FarCry Insincts on the current Xbox. (Edit: at least going by this video, I should add)

Explosions look 2D animated sprites in that jungle video.

I really like the city environment tho. Looks huge and very detailed.

Wow. I love the style, I love the graphics, I love the lighting, and I still have 3 more vids to watch (going sequentially).

Now about those death animations...

I was being serious. More like you protecting Zer0 huh?

You see, you dont need to act like that, since he in away said a positve thing about an xbox360 title, in this case Ghost Recon 3......

Sure sure...keep up the protection. Maybe you could have a kid together and name him Mario?

Impressive videos apart from two (major!) problems:

The enemy animation is just plain wrong. Watching them flail about so much just shows that they haven't used the ragdoll physics properly (I've seen it used in a much better way before)

Shiny bricks. Why?

"Oh look! We have a cool brick texture and it has cool lighting effects"
"Does it look realistic or serve any purpose?"
"No but look how shiny it is!"

So whats up with that Hologram gun? to draw fire away from you which sets you up for some nice, meaty, satisfying kills? :D

Just imagine the fun you can have with that!

that title is saved for the direct feed videos.
