So whats up with that Hologram gun? to draw fire away from you which sets you up for some nice, meaty, satisfying kills? :D

Just imagine the fun you can have with that!
Shades of Total Recall....

"HAHAHAH.. you think this is the real Quaid?... well it is... *boom*" :lol

Sure sure...keep up the protection. Maybe you could have a kid together and name him Mario?

Maybe you should change that S from the avatar guy's chest with blue tights and put an X on it...and while you're at it, change the color to green too.

The only reason they didn't have PDZ at TGS is becuase the Japanese hate FPS games. It makes a lot more sense to unveil PDZ to Gamestop employees in the US and to have PDZ playable at X'05 than to have it at the Tokyo Game Show where nobody will care about it.

Hate to say it, but I am not very impressed by the videos. The ragdoll physics work is horrible. Reminds me on SIN or Soldier of Fortune on the PC.

Is that why GBTG sucked and the camera in Conker still felt like an N64 camera? :P

i wish i knew where the GbtG hate kept coming from. The way some of you go off on it you'd think it was an unresponsive piece of crap that made your eyes bleed. it was an objective based beat em up...it did what it set out to do very well. Not AAA or nothing but certainly not rancid horse piss in game form either.

hell based on it's sales I wonder how many that rag on it have ever even played it (aside from the pirates that is)

It looks good enough, nothing spectacular. Hopefully it's running at 60fps. They really need to work on the perspective changes, though. :P

yup. i can understand not a lot of people enjoying gbtg. it had very simplistic gameplay, almost retro in feel. like some old early 80'd arcade game updated with really nice 3d graphics. for what it was, i thought it was terrific. really nice presentation, great graphic and music and great design all around.

Looking fun and great, I kinda like my enemies with rag doll, it just seems they could speed it up a bit, it looks kinda floaty, besides that this has replaced Kameo as my most wanted 360 title with Oblivion sulking in 3rd.

Because I'm gonna get bashed like hell by certain xbox fans who obviously think this thread is their own turf or something I'll say my opinion and leave.

Models look very simple for next gen, lighting looks acceptable, physics are ridiculous and backrounds look very good. I expect much more from next gen. Guess some xbox fans expectations were too low after the MTV presentation, and they're happy to see improvement. I agree, the game looks much better now.

I just watched it again, and really the graphics are flawless...yes, flawless. Unless you can point out something specific that makes the game look "meh" or "unimpressive" then shut the hell up; well besides the fucking hit animations. What the hell is that shit? I am praying that this animation will be improved by launch. Now I'm no expert on game developement, so what are the chances of the animations looking perfect when the games come out?

I'm just curious, do you actually know what "flawless" means? I think, judging from how loosely you use it here, that you've broken a few bolts and simply are unable to comprehend what it actually means.

After watching several times all the videos available, i'm quite disapointed of rare next games... :/ Looks nice... ok and then ? The guys seem unnatural, strange shaped joanna, guns seem to shoot some kind of popcorn... Bungie should have done it :p

The models are not supposed to look super detailed and realistic. People need to stop comparing things with different art styles to MGS4. (Admit it, that's what half of you are comparing the games graphics to). They are apples and oranges, both very delicious I might add.

Im just waiting for Inkyvoid and Cybermercs dissaproval, then this thread should hopefully be hater free from this page onwards

Pretty bad when you can pick out haters before they get here, like reserved parking spots at churches and buildings

The walls in the MGS4 trailer had low res textures, therefore, PDZ>>>>>>>MGS4

HAHAHAHAHA, this thread is going to get ugly in a hurry now, hahahahahaha

All ready to go!

Wow. I'm impressed. The textures, lighting, geometry, draw distance... incredible. I think I'll let the wonky character animations pass for now.

I got Grabbed by the Ghoulies around Christmas time when it came out and I actually liked it. I knew it was a beat em' up, and I enjoyed it. I think too many people were looking for it to be a platformer, and it's far from that.

But I enjoyed it for what it was. It's a good pick up and play through on a weekend game. :)

So as of now, there's three new PDZ videos in this thread...And nothing else right? Supply links if I missed something please. :)

What I like:
Lighting & Texures overall, game looks fun, no wallguy to be seen.

What I don't like:
*this part of the post can be found at the Cambridge Basket-Weavers Association Forums, where the residents were confused and asked if Joanna Dark was a new type of reed weave, and if Rare was some new-fangled loom, but didn't label me a hater for having something resembling an individual opinion*

just finished watching the videos... here's my opinion on them

Pro's

+ The levels are enormous

+ The parallax mapping brings alot of detail to the game.

+ the seamless transition to third person is great... it will give the game a more action like feel. (In theory... PDZ is more of a FPA than a FPS title... like metroid prime)

Con's

- The parallax mapping brings detail but it also makes the game look a bit too shiny... the world is made out of plastic blocks

- the animation is stiff in areas (joanna climbing up the ladder) and a bit exaggerated in others (enemies flying back and harlem shaking all over the place)

- the melee doesnt seem effective... and it doesnt bring that satisfaction that Halo 2 brought.

Big pro's... small cons... this game is going to be a classic.

Well since I wasn't bashed I think I can reply. :) Actually I'm comparing it to other Xbox360 games. Models still look very very simple. I would never dare to compare it to MGS4 because if I did, I wouldn't have to worry about bashing I'd have to worry about lynching.

Are the videos up anywhere else? The ones in the original post are down.

:lol @ the stupid idiots still looking for things to bitch about. You lost, you dumbass losers. Deal with it.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Does a game have to be WTFshit or WTFOMG?? It looks great in certain areas, decent in others, and lacking in yet others. I'm sorry if that makes you feel insecure.

Wow. You can deffinitely see it's got great textures and while the crappy quality and size of the video keeps you from getting a good look at the game's graphics, what I am amazed most by is the gameplay and level design. Amazing level design. As far as the animations, I don't think people get it. After watching the videos...it's clear this game is not about realism. It's about speed. Even the way she climbs that later. It's very fast and quite a bit cartoony. I love the speed of the game. It looks great. WOW. By far my most anticipated 360 game. Go Rare.

Oh and the Kameo video is worth checking out too. Not too shabby. RR6 still looks plain with only one car.

Animation/physics reminds me of Deus Ex 2... in a bad way.

3rd person stuff seems sketchy.

Looks pretty good otherwise.

(Is someone going to quote my post and bitch at me because I'm not foaming at the mouth over these videos? We'll see...)

I think I speak for many people here planning to buy an Xbox 360 when I say...

"For chrissakes, just gimme Oblivion"

Cheers.

This does look much improved, but I am not sold on it yet. I'll hold further judgement till X05, but right now the few areas seems empty, and while the second video has a large visible area, the physical area you move in is really small.

Both? There are five PDZ movies in addition to the RR6 and Kameo movies.
Jeux-france has them up for those who missed it.

really? these are the ones i looked at from gameinformer.

Just watched the first clip. My only comment is that the texture work looks insane.

I'll wait till X05 for more footage - but this was definately promising.

:lol so true.

The game looks LOVELY (if a bit too shiny).

Animations are crushingly disappointing, especially for me given how 'solid' the enemies in GE (and to a lesser, more fleshier extent) PD64 felt. They look helium-filled, waiting to float off.
And melee looked disappointingly weak, too. :(

I don't like how the enemies react to death. It's as if the moment they die, they're light as air and flop all over the place like a ragdoll.

I'm really digging the environments, though.
