Peaches Geldof Dead at 25

That's very short for the Beeb. It's like they wanted to be the first to break the news story, like an eager topic creator on GAF.

Any details on how she died? I'm guessing drug OD.

Too fucking young to die though. And she has two kids? Goddamn.

Don't think she has a history of that. It might be a car crash or something like that.

Feel real sorry for her kids. She came across as a wonderful and caring mother.
 
This name sounds so familiar, but I don't recognize any of the work listed on her Wikipedia page. Was she involved with a new story or mentioned on a panel show our something? Maybe in a relationship with someone?

25 is really young.

Bob Geldof is a famous early punk / folk-rock singer, that you probably best know for I Don't Like Mondays. He also ran Band Aid ("Do They Know It's Christmas Time?") and Live Aid. He's generally well regarded. His daughter is Peaches Geldof. Now she's dead.

Never really knew who she was either (except the daughter of a famous singer), but I remember seeing her like every week in tabloids or gossip-oriented websites.

Still, this is awfully tragic and shocking. I guess it was because of drugs, but who knows.

Bob Geldof = The Dude in Pink Floyd's The Wall movie. Also singer for Boomtown Rats - "I Don't Like Mondays". ALso mastermind behind Band Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas Time?" and Live Aid concert in the 80s.
 
I feel like I've heard her joked about on Never Mind the Buzzcocks or something.

Or was she the one who the guy on reddit hooked up with?

Not trying to be disrespectful, just genuinely trying to place where I know her.
 
BBC article has been updated.

Police say they were called to an address near Wrotham, Kent following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on Monday afternoon.

The woman, aged 25, was later pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden," said a statement from Kent Police.

"I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father's mentality was 'keep calm and carry on'," she said.

"So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn't grieve. I didn't cry at her funeral. I couldn't express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn't start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16."

Geldof and Yates had been divorced a number of years before her death. They divorced in 96, she had a child with Michael Hutchence also in 96. Oddly enough, with the deaths of Hutchence and Yates, Geldof gained custody of their daughter.
 
I saw stuff she had posted over the last couple days on Twitter being retweeted a lot and I wondered why. Now I guess I know, welp.

RIP. She was only, like, six months older than me. Damn.

So she has a famous and well liked father but hasn't accomplished anything on her own? Is she like the UK Paris Hilton or is was she more level headed?

It was a big deal, but for those of who didn't live through the 80's, we remember it more for Bono, George Michael, etc, than we do Bob Geldof. I'd heard of him before this but didn't know what he was famous for.

Saw 2-3 storys about her over the last years her in germany in some random shows. In the first ones she looked like a rich girl always drinking alcohol and doing party. In the last one i saw a lovely mother of two kids, nothing like the party girl from some years ago. RIP Peaches
